Chapter 711: Chapter 685: It’s All Understandable for Young People

Qian added, "Just a moment ago, weren’t you all curious about what kind of family raises such an unmarriageable daughter? Now you’ve seen it, it’s our Yu Family that raised her."

"Pfft!" Narcissus bet that Qian had been holding her breath since the beginning, just waiting for this moment to say it.

Oh my, after Qian finished speaking, the faces of the bizarre family twisted; their expressions were truly beyond words.

Shock, discomfort, embarrassment, shame... and a bit of angry humiliation caught red-handed, all these expressions collected together, quite a spectacle.

"Sister-in-law, what are you saying?" Liumei’s voice sounded very close.

"Nothing, just proceed as planned. Your future in-laws with me — you have such ’great’ judgment. Let me get you a pair of 2000-degree myopic glasses. If you aren’t highly myopic, you can’t find such... a unique family."

Qian glanced at the wide-eyed Xiaoqing and gave a fair evaluation.

For a while, Qian was bored and once summed up the probability of bizarre relatives appearing around a phoenix man based on her medical case history. It’s not very high, but Liumei just casually found a boyfriend and encountered such a rare event, quite a stroke of luck.

"Sister-in-law, why are you here?" Liumei walked over, followed by a man just a tad taller than her.

Qian and Narcissus both waited to see what the legendary phoenix man looked like, but upon seeing...

They were a bit disappointed.

Among the girls, Liumei is considered tall, making the man, although a bit taller than Liumei, seem less imposing compared to her, looking just below average with a slightly gloomy vibe.

Yu Minglang is also serious outside, but never gives off a sinister feeling.

This man compared to someone like Yu Minglang, well, he’s just utterly outclassed, the vibe fails right at first glance.

Standing with him, Liumei doesn’t match at all. Narcissus even felt that standing next to Liumei, rather than being a boyfriend, he looked more like a bodyguard; their vibes weren’t on the same level at all.

Narcissus glanced at Qian, as if to say, what’s with your little cousin’s taste?

Qian shrugged it off, what youth hasn’t encountered a few no-good characters along the journey?

"You two... know each other?!" Xiaoqing, wide-eyed and not expecting the plot to twist like this, they had just been badmouthing Liumei, who could have thought that the two flamboyant women beside them would know Liumei?

Comparing herself with more beautiful, more stylish, more affluent women, Xiaoqing stubbornly viewed them as women who relied on men to get everything, staunchly believing that if only she were a bit prettier, she would fare better than Qian and Narcissus.

This zealous view was quite similar to her mother’s.

At this moment, none of them expected that Qian was actually Liumei’s sister-in-law!

"She’s my sister-in-law, I live at her house now, sister-in-law, what are you doing here?" Liumei broke into a sweat.

She received a message from her boyfriend saying his family was coming, and she initially intended to greet them personally. But then Qian suddenly informed her in the morning that she had checked a nice venue for her and Qiuqiu, telling them to negotiate the price themselves, warning that if they missed today, they would lose the chance to rent the venue cheaply.

Liumei weighed her options and decided to check the venue first, informing Ma Lv over the phone of the situation. Surprisingly, Ma Lv told her he had already been in Lishi for business two days prior, and they should wait to negotiate the venue price together with him.

When Liumei first heard this, she felt as if the sky had shattered onto her head. Why hadn’t he told her he was already there?

Ma Lv’s reasoning was that work was too busy back at the office, but Liumei still felt uneasy. Why, if it was busy before, didn’t he contact her, but then he suddenly had time when she was about to check the venue?

The venue visit was also unpleasant; Ma Lv seemed intent on preventing her and Qiuqiu from reaching an agreement, constantly contradicting the landlord, resulting in a falling-out, and consequently failing to secure the venue, causing her delay as well.

Qian had a smile on her lips, but her eyes were devoid of any warmth, her gaze coldly scanning over the bizarre family, leaving the Ma parents dumbfounded.

"I was here, just in time to hear some gossip about our Yu Family, right?"

The group caught in her gaze couldn’t muster a smile.

There couldn’t be anything more embarrassing.

People could gossip delightfully behind others’ backs, but when faced with confrontation, they shrink away instantly. Just as eager as they once were to gossip, now they were just as eager to cower, unable to face Qian’s open and straightforward eyes.

"Sister-in-law, what do you mean?" Liumei couldn’t grasp Qian’s subtleties but did understand the embarrassment suffusing the room.

"Oh, it’s your sister-in-law. What a stir this is, didn’t know before. It would’ve been great to share a meal together!" The middle-aged woman first recovered and said.

"If you had known it was me, would you still have said so many things about Liumei and our Yu Family?" Qian’s words were warm but carried an aggressive edge.

Mrs. Ma wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, her smile becoming more awkward. She had a lifetime of gossip and speaking ill of others behind others’ backs, but never once had she been caught like this, publicly, making her words uncomfortably sour. Qian clearly wasn’t giving her any leeway, the atmosphere unbearably awkward.

The man beside Liumei then took a careful look at Qian and Narcissus, especially lingering his gaze on Qian’s face for several seconds.

Liumei is quite pretty, with a lively and energetic look, different from Qian. Yet the man clearly found Qian more striking, and Narcissus wasn’t lacking either.

Admiring beautiful women is a natural pastime for most men, but even after Qian stated she was Liumei’s sister-in-law and dared to scrutinize her in Liumei’s presence, Qian had already made an accurate assessment in her mind—this man’s looks weren’t the only thing lacking, but his character as well.

"I believe your family owes the Yu Family an explanation about what those words just meant?" Ignoring the awkward mood, Qian demanded an explanation from the Ma Family.

"Explaining what? Who do you think you are; not her parents, just a sister-in-law being so arrogant..." Ma Qing exclaimed defiantly.

"What exactly happened just now?" Ma Lv asked.

"Oh, nothing much, your sister casually said a few insignificant things which Liumei’s in-law sister overheard. It’s really nothing. Young folks’ words don’t carry weight. After wedding, she’ll be another’s family’s problem, so lighten up, sister-in-law, understandable among young people." Mrs. Ma seemed to mediate, but her words were cutting.

The implication was, my daughter’s words are insignificant since she’s young, and you’re just a sister-in-law, also insignificant—let’s not make a fuss, alright?

Liumei, unaware of what occurred, was a bit puzzled, while Qian wiped her hands with a napkin.

"Oh, young people, everything understandable, right?"

"Exactly, exactly!"

"Slap!" Qian’s hand landed precisely on Ma Qing’s face, exerting full force, instantly leaving it red.

"I’m quite young. Slapping her once—it’s understandable, isn’t it? By your theory, marrying into the Yu Family means I’m part of the Yu Family. It’s fine for me to slap those bad-mouthing my family, right?"
