Chapter 90: Chapter 84: Advent of the Asura
He immediately sent a message to his son, "Come quickly. And bring everybody else."
A few moments later, the Heavenly Demon appeared along with Tang Mi-Yeon, the Demon Monarchs, and the Yin and Yang Elders. They all observed carefully as the aura of the lotus bud continued to rise.
Suddenly, the natural energy stopped rushing toward the lotus bud. A wisp of black and purple fire appeared beside the bud, followed by a clump of mud from a graveyard, an ingot of pitch-black metal, a ball of black and bluish water, and finally, a blood-soaked root. The five objects sank into the lotus bud.
Seeing this, everybody was shocked. The Enchantress said, "Was that..."
The Mountain Crushing Demon said, "Yeah, that was the Harmony of Five Demonic Elements."
She said, "But that means..."
He said, "The Young Lord has broken through the Supreme Demon realm."
The Poison King said, "And it doesn’t seem like he is done yet."
As if to prove him right, there was a resounding thunderclap as the dark clouds above them started raging with blood-red thunder.
Elsewhere, Woo was training with Bum when she suddenly paused. The Divine Beast tattoo, or what was left of it at least, started glowing and she felt a burning pain rip through her body.
Bum asked, "Woo, why’d you stop? Is everything alright?"
Woo struggled as she replied, "No. Something is w-wrong."
Bum asked, "Wrong? Wrong with who?"
She said, "The Heavens. They are furious."
Then she passed out.
Back at the cliff, the Demon Monarchs stood in shock as the aura coming from the lotus continued rising. And the speed at which it was intensifying was increasing rapidly. But this wasn’t the reason behind their shock. No, they were shocked because of the phenomenon that was taking place.
Three deep purple, almost black, roses appeared from the void above the lotus bud.
The old man said, "Jing, Shen, and Qi, the three treasures of man. When they transcend harmoniously, three flowers condense over the head. Hmm, black roses... He is mourning."
The Mountain Crushing Demon Monarch said, "So, the Young Lord has broken through to the Ultimate Demon Realm?"
The Heavenly Demon nodded.
The Poison King asked, "But how?"
The old man said, "The Peak Demon realm, the Supreme Demon realm, and the Ultimate Demon realm are different from the stages before them. Unlike before, just refining internal qi is not enough. You also need sufficient understanding and comprehension. That is why people advance slowly through these realms. But the reverse is also true.
There have been multiple cases where people experienced sudden enlightenment and blazed through these realms. You remember the Abbot of Shaolin Temple? He was one such figure. So Ryeong experienced enlightenment and with the immense qi from the treasures that we threw in the storm, it isn’t that unbelievable."
As the Demon Monarchs were trying to digest this information, the Heavens roared again. They looked at the sky and saw that all of the lightning was converging in one spot, as if the Heavens were preparing an attack. Then they looked at the lotus bud. It quivered.
And then it bloomed. There was a flash of light so bright that even they were momentarily blinded. Then they heard an emotionless voice, "So even you want to stop me? You can’t."
Their eyesight returned and they saw that the red lightning had converged in the shape of a coiling dragon. It seemed that the Heavens had been provoked by the challenge. Before they could react, the lightning dragon roared a dragon chant and flew towards the abyss.
Then they heard the same emotionless voice that they heard before, "Kshetra Vistaram: Asurasya Aagamanam."
(This translates as Domain Expansion: Advent of the Asura.)
They witnessed a figure fly out of the abyss. The figure met the lightning dragon head-on and punched the dragon’s head. The lightning dragon dispersed, and the figure descended on the cliff. Now everybody there was confused about a lot of things but the one thing that they were sure of was that the figure was not a human.
His irises were red and had purple and gold flecks in them. He had long silver hair that gave a subtle glow, two pitch-black horns, a pair of what they could only describe as scaled bat-like wings that were purple and golden in color with red streaks.
(Bat like wings because thay are not familiar with the concept of dragon like wings as winged dragons are Western concept whereas Murim is an Eastern world.)
He had golden scales on his shoulders and had four arms instead of two. He was wearing gauntlets crafted from purple scales, and archaic tattoos adorned his body. And his aura was very dangerous.
He said, "I guess you don’t recognize me like this."
Everybody thought at the same time, ’Recognize? Do I even know him?’
As this thought was swirling inside their heads, the creature in front of them shifted. His facial features transformed, and his irises lost the purple and gold flecks and became completely blood red. His hair turned from silver to deep purple, and all extra appendages—the scales, the horns, the wings, the extra arms—everything, disappeared. The tattoos and the gauntlets disappeared as well.
As soon as he had transformed into his old appearance, all of the Demon Monarchs except for the Poison King took a knee and said, "We greet the Young Lord."
Zeke stared at the Poison King and said, "Why are you still standing?"
The Poison King was shocked and was about to say something but was interrupted by Zeke as he said, "I don’t care. Kneel."
The Poison King said, "Huh?"
Then he felt an extreme suppression. He looked at his grandson who knew no filial piety and was shocked to see that he had transformed once again. Deep red emperor’s robes with a golden nine-headed dragon embroidered on them had suddenly appeared on his body.
Zeke said, "I said, kneel."
The suppression over the Poison King suddenly increased resulting in his knees involuntarily giving out. He kneeled and his head crashed onto the floor.
Seeing this, Zeke said, "Good. Now, I promised him that rivers of blood will flow and mountains of corpses will gather all throughout Murim and I intend to keep it, so let’s go."
Then he disappeared.
(So, you have red eyes, and you got an insane upgrade after going through an incredible trauma?)
