Chapter 74: Chapter 68: Colosseum 2
The members of the Demon Sword Squad felt insulted. They had worked extremely hard. They had shed sweat, blood, and tears and lost many of their friends during missions to reach their position and for what? Just so that some brats could challenge them? Now they had to battle some newbie kids with their hard earned position on the line?
Although they had heard of the Little Demons and their experiences, they still felt that it was unfair. They couldn’t reject the challenge so they would make sure to show these little brats their place. They would show everybody that they were not to be messed with.
The Vice Head looked at the raging audience and said, "Calm down. He was only ranked fourth. Let’s move on."
The audience instantly calmed down. Although he was acting as referee and entertaining them like this, none of them had forgotten the authority that he held. The Vice Head smiled seeing this.
He continued, "Ever since the beginning of their trials, he has always remained a part of the top ten. The earth shook when he returned after finishing the final trial. He too, rode a bear Spirit Beast. His size doesn’t match his age. Let us welcome...WOOOOOONG!!"
The audience and the Demon Sword Squad looked at the entrance. They wanted to see what he would do. But a few moments passed and nothing happened. They were confused. Why wasn’t anyone entering the arena?
Not only them, even the Vice Head was confused. He was about to go see if something was wrong when suddenly something happened. A huge warhammer flew straight into the air at an extremely high speed until it was difficult to see with the naked eye.
Something like that shouldn’t have been possible. While the audience was looking at the flying hammer, someone shouted, "Look!!"
The audience looked at the entrance and saw Woong calmly walking into the arena. He calmly walked to Bum and whispered something to him. Bum nodded and back up a little.
Woong just stood there, confusing the audience even more. Until... they saw the warhammer coming back down. It almost seemed like a meteorite. A meteorite that was heading straight towards Woong.
Woong still looked calm. He stretched his right arm to his right side, and above his head. As the hammer was coming down, and was about to crash into the ground, he caught it. The ground beneath his feet cracked but he still looked as if the incredible force and momentum that the hammer carried was nothing to him.
The audience, the Demon Sword Squad, the Vice Head...everybody, was silent. The saw as Woong swung the hammer and rested it on his shoulder. The audience burst into cheers. All of them were martial artists and could tell that what Woong had just done was no simple feat.
It wasn’t physically possible for someone at his level to shoulder all that force alone. He had smoothly channeled all that force into the earth. One mistake and all of the bones in his body would have broken.
The Demon Sword Squad had a solemn look on their faces. Not because they were afraid of Woong or anything but because even with all of his abilities, Woong was only Rank 3. That meant there were still two people stronger than him.
The Vice Head said, "Well, that was certainly a show of strength. The next Little Demon has always ranked second since the first trial. No one except Rank 1 has been able to beat her.
Just like the previous Little Demons, she too rode a deer Spirit Beast, while commanding a huge deer herd when she returned after the final trial. Let us all welcome the second ranked Little Demon, WOOOOO!!"
The crowd started cheering once again but were silenced by the sound of a thunderclap. They looked at the sky, and saw that dark clouds were gathering above the arena. Woo entered the arena with apparent indifference in her eyes. She walked as if everything in the world was beneath her.
When the crowd saw her, they were enamored by her beauty. Her white hair seemed to shimmer in the darkness and the stag mark on her forehead was glowing. But when they gazed into her eyes, they felt as if they were looking at the Heavens themselves.
As Woo got closer to Woong and Bum, the clouds above the arena got darker and darker. When she reached them, she pointed her rapier towards the clouds and the audience, at least the weaker ones, were almost blinded by a sudden flash of light.
They hadn’t even recovered when they heard a deafening thunderclap. When they were finally able to see, they saw tiny thunderbolts dancing across the surface of the Woo’s sword.
The weaker audience once again burst into cheers while the members of Divine Hell had a solemn stared at the trio seriously. Zeke thought, ’Well, I know that I was the one who asked them to put on a show, but why are they always so dramatic?
Sigh, I guess I can kiss my privacy goodbye. Now that it has come to this, I might as well go wild too. Because I am gonna be spied on anyway, I should at least get something in return by showing my worth.’
[Do not judge me for my dark past. Every weeb suffers from the eighth grade syndrome at least once in their life.]
(But-)
[Shut it.]
He undid the cloth that was tying his hair, letting it fall to the middle of his back. He also undid the belt that held his battle robe, took it off, and wore it back again. He didn’t fasten it with the belt again, leaving it open.
While he was doing this, the Vice Head calmed down the audience and said, "The final Little Demon is the most special of them all. He has ranked first ever since the trials began.
His actions have earned him many nicknames in the cavern, some of which even you all have heard. The Immovable Mountain, the Eternal Rank 1, Demon King, Grim Reaper, and many more.
His ruthlessness and brutality know no bounds as of the original two hundred trainees, he killed over thirty trainees by himself. Twenty one of those died in a single night. It was a massacre.
Although he also rode a Spirit Beast when he returned from the final trial, he didn’t command a pack like the others. Because he had no need to. For his opponents, he alone is enough.
Let us all welcome the strongest of the Little Demons, RYEOOONG!!!!!"
The audience went berserk. They had heard a lot about the first ranked Little Demon and his deeds. Although they were all called Little Demons, he was the only one whose actions matched this title.
They stared at the entrance with their eyes wide open. Everyone was wondering what he would do. Rank had provoked their opponents, Rank 3 had shown off his insane strength, and Rank 2 had literally called the Heavens to her.
(Natural thunder was considered as a heavenly punishment in ancient times.)
As the crowd was raging, Zeke entered the arena. He did nothing. He literally just walked. But even that caused everyone to become silent and the members of Divine Hell to stand up just to make sure that they weren’t seeing things.
Zeke, with his open hair and open robe, entered the arena with Sasin in his hands. He had an extremely bored expression on his face and he even yawned.
But that wasn’t the reason that everyone was silent. As Zeke was waking, a strange pressure filled the air. It was as if a superior being was in their presence. But that alone wasn’t enough to shock the members of Divine Hell.
What shocked them were the four twelve petalled black lotus phantoms and the weapon in his hand. That added to appearance and overall vibe reminded them of someone else.
(I think that I’ve dropped enough hints now. Tell me your guesses on the Discord server. Iykyk)
Zeke walked to the trio and they respectfully stood behind him. When everyone thought that it was over and the match would now begin, Zeke proved them wrong. His fused Intent, which he had named the Hell Intent, was released.
His eyes lit up in a blood red light as he stared at his opponents. The members of the Demon Sword Squad also stared at him. Unfortunately for them, one of their weaker members stared right into his eyes.
While the audience was looking at the intense stare off between them, they suddenly heard a painful scream, "AAHHH!! MY EYES!!"
The eyes of the member who had been staring into Zeke’s eyes had a horizontal cut on their pupils and had started bleeding. Zeke thought, ’Shit, I could do that?’
While he was thinking about this newfound ability of his, someone in the crowd yelled, "Holy shit! He injured an opponent with just a gaze."
