Chapter 31: Chapter 30: Training and Birth
Dean continued to explain the rest of the technique. Then he said, "As I told you before, there are five Chapters in the first stage. We will begin with the VIT stat. It is the most important of the physical stats as it is their root. As you achieve more and more Stars in the VIT stat, the other physical stats will also be passively developed."
The boys nodded in understanding. Dean said, "We’ll do some light exercise right now. After that, you both will have D Grade meat for breakfast. Then, we’ll meet again on the training grounds. I will show you the poses of the vitality Chapter of the first stage."
The ’light exercise’ pushed the boys to their limits. If not for their natural healing factor and the fact that they had done something similar with Alexi, they wouldn’t even be able to get up from the floor. Tired, they made their way to the bathrooms and took a shower. Then, they had tacos for breakfast. The filling had meat from a D Grade Earth Bull. The meal was extremely filling. They didn’t even have much but due to the difference in the Grade, they were able to follow Dean’s instructions and eat until they were completely filled to the brim.
They went to the training grounds after that. They didn’t know how they would be able to exercise like this as they were feeling bloated. Still, they believed that Dean had a plan. Dean was waiting for them at the training grounds. He said, "Good. Now I will seal your mana. And it will remain sealed until we have finished your training."
The boys exclaimed, "What! Why?"
Dean replied, "Relax, I’m only sealing your Mana Centre. I won’t seal the mana in your blood. Mana will interfere with your training and I feel like you’re too dependent on mana. Consider this as a lesson. Situations may arise when you’re unable to utilize mana and you need to be prepared. If not, it can be very dangerous for you."
The boys grumbled but didn’t resist, not that they could. Dean was infinitely stronger than them. Zeke asked, "What about Mana and Soul cultivation?"
Dean said, "I have seen your absurd cultivation technique so I know that it wouldn’t matter even if it is delayed. The new session of the Federation War Academy will begin in exactly one year. I’m sure that by then you’ll be able to cultivate to the E Grade. By the way, you are joining the War Academy, right?"
Zeke replied, "Yeah. In the other timeline, I joined the Research Academy so there’s no point in going there now. I’m not trying to be arrogant but with my knowledge, I could easily defeat the Dean in an academic duel so it would just be a waste of time. And Cass is too dumb to thrive there. So, we’re going to join the War Academy. After that, we’ll join the battlefield. You have to be careful, Commander. I might just come after your position."
Cass said, "Although he is being mean, I can’t deny that I would be bored in the Research Academy."
Dean laughed after listening to the boys. He said, "Tell you what. If someday you can defeat me, then I will gladly make you the next Supreme Commander. Provided that you have enough merit. Now let’s begin training, future Commander."
Dean then proceeded to show them 10 poses. He said, "These are the 10 poses of the Vitality Chapter. You will only start practising the second pose when you have mastered the first pose and so on. We will talk after you have mastered all ten poses."
He started guiding the boys on the first pose. The boys felt that the pose was strangely strenuous to do. It didn’t look like it was difficult but they found that perfectly performing it was very difficult and exhausting. They could feel their breakfast being rapidly digested and turning into a strange energy that soothed their exhaustion.
Soon two weeks passed and the boys had mastered all 10 poses. Now they were working hard to do all ten poses in a row smoothly. In these two weeks, their appetite had increased a lot. They had also achieved 2.5 Stars in the VIT stat and 0.5 Stars in the rest of the physical stats. Another week passed and they had achieved 3 Stars in the VIT stat. Strangely, they stopped progressing after that. They took this problem to Dean.
He said, "Your bodies have reached their limits. To break those limits, external stimuli are necessary. Extreme temperatures, increased gravity, etc. You have already done some gravity training with Alexi, right? We’ll do something similar."
Dean waved his hand and the boys suddenly felt restricted. He said, "I’ve increased the density of space around you. This will be the only stimulus that you need. Extreme temperatures won’t work for you because of your affinities and this is already similar to increased gravity."
The boys nodded, or at least tried to. Dean continued, "I won’t wait for you to get comfortable and continue to gradually increase the density. Do your best to get used to it."
Just like this, another week went by. Finally, the boys had reached 5 Stars in the VIT stat. As soon as they had done so, they momentarily felt like they were unkillable due to their high life force. Dean said, "Remember what you’re feeling right now.
You both have the Life Affinity so it will be useful for you. Now that you have reached 5 Stars in the VIT stat, your life force has become the strongest that it can, in the F Grade. The only way to make it even stronger is to either achieve 5 Stars in the other physical stats or breakthrough to the E Grade. Now we will begin with the Stamina Chapter.
Unlike the Vitality Chapter, the Stamina Chapter has only three poses..."
Soon three months passed. Under Dean’s guidance, the boys continued to achieve 5 Stars in the remaining physical stats. When they had done so, they felt reborn. The harmony of perfect physical stats had multiplied their strength manyfold.
Currently, they were sitting in a cultivation room. They had become taller and buffer. Dean said, "After being sealed for so long, your Mana Centers are craving mana. As soon as I undo the seal, they will enter an overdrive mode for a short period of time. So, do your best to take advantage of this."
The boys nodded and focused. Dean undid the seal and the mana in the room rushed toward the boys. In the beginning, they had trouble refining so much mana but after a few cycles, the raging mana calmed down. A few more days went by, and the boys focused on cultivating.
One day, they got a message from Alexi that Katherine had gone into labour. After seeing the message, the first thing that they did was go to Dean. Zeke said, "Uncle Dean, please seal the space surrounding the mansion. Make it as strong as possible. Not even a fly should be able to get in. Aunt Kat just went into labour. We don’t know what will happen when the babies are born."
Dean also understood the importance of the matter. According to what Zeke had told him before, these babies were Imperial Neo-Nephilims. He quickly flew into the air and sealed the space surrounding the mansion to the limit.
The boys rushed to the delivery room. Inside, Katherine was lying on a bed with Alexi standing beside her. A team of doctors and nurses was also present for the delivery. Alexi and the team were encouraging Katherine to push. Katherine on the other hand, was shouting cuss words that even Zeke had never heard before.
The boys stood near the gate and unfurled their wings as much as they could. They then unleashed their aura to the limit. They wanted the mask the babies’ aura with their own. A few hours passed and the first baby was successfully born. Soon after, the second baby was born. The babies started crying.
Once again, every Angel and Demon in existence felt a crippling fear. Although it wasn’t as strong as the first two times, the higher ups of both Races had confirmed that a Race that was their natural predator had been born. And they were increasing their numbers. The boys took the babies from the nurses. They held a baby each. The babies felt a soothing aura and stopped crying.
The boys looked at the babies in their arms. The baby boy in Zeke’s arms had silver red hair and golden eyes with amethyst flecks while the baby girl in Cass’s arms had black and silver hair and golden eyes with amethyst flecks. The boys felt an emotion welling inside them. It was unconditional love.
They unwillingly handed the babies to Katherine and Alexi and quickly exited the room. Outside, they were taking deep breaths. Cass looked at Zeke and asked, "Did you feel that?"
Zeke nodded his head. He knew what Cass was talking about. When they had held the babies, their bloodlines had resonated and awakened a protective instinct inside them. They instinctively rejected the idea of handing the babies to anybody else, even Katherine and Alexi.
Cass asked, "What was that?"
Zeke replied, "I don’t know. I think it was because of their bloodline. Apart from us, they are the only Neo-Nephilims. And since they are first gen, they have the purest Neo-Nephilim blood possible for anybody apart from us. Generally, both Neo-Humans and Angels are very protective of their young ones. Those traits added to the Demons’ heightened emotions may be causing this.
We’ll ask Grandpa after he wakes up. According to what he told us, he should be waking up soon.
