Chapter 103: Chapter 97: The Second Bloodbath
... the Mage power system. It required one to create magic circles around their hearts to advance. It was more of a side project, with his main focus being Yggdrasil’s seed.
Right now, he was a one-circle mage, and he couldn’t use spells without Faith. Hopefully, that would change when he had access to more runes, but that was a topic for later.
Right now, he had a battle to win. He had one big advantage against his enemies: his ability to fly. Sure, they could also fly, but only for a short time, and it used too much internal qi to be of practical use in a battle against a strong enemy.
The sword technique of the Namgoong Clan had some long-range attacks, but it was useless against Zeke. He would just dodge them all in the air. He had never imagined that his wings would give him this surprise.
The Taoist from Wudang said, "The world sprang forth from Yin and Yang, Taiji Seal!"
A large yin-yang symbol appeared both above and below Zeke. The symbols started slowly spinning in opposite directions, and he felt an extremely suppressive force restricting him. Zeke started struggling.
The old Taoist yelled, "He is too strong. I must burn my vital qi to suppress him. Abbot, join me."
The Abbot of the Shaolin Temple nodded. He stared at Zeke and started chanting loudly, "OM PAD NI..."
Zeke felt a very slight sting in his soul, but it was nothing with his EX Grade Will.
But his enemies weren’t done yet. A woman, similar to Zeke’s age, suddenly appeared beside Namgoong Geom-Ryong. It was the Erudite Phoenix, Jaegal Soso.
She said, "Senior, let me help. I’ve learned the Grand Seal of Heaven and Earth from my grandfather."
Namgoong Geom-Ryong said, "It won’t matter with your strength."
Jaegal Soso replied, "It will if all the seniors help me. Lend me your internal qi."
Namgoong Geom-Ryong said, "But our internal qi is too strong for you. Even the qi of just one Transcendent would be enough to completely destroy your body."
Jaegal Soso responded, "My life is nothing if it means we can seal this heathen. You must make a decision. We don’t have much time."
Namgoong Geom-Ryong knew she was right. He sent a voice transmission to all of the Transcendents present: "Transfer all of your qi to my body. I have a plan."
The Transcendents trusted him and started transferring their qi to his body. He stood behind Jaegal Soso, placing his palms on her back.
He said, "Brace yourself. I’ll mellow out the qi as much as I can, but it will still hurt a lot."
Jaegal Soso nodded and started drawing with the brush in her hands. At first, she used her own internal qi, but then felt a burning pain spreading through her body. She endured the pain and continued drawing rune after rune.
What she didn’t know was that, behind her, Namgoong Geom-Ryong’s body had begun crumbling. The sheer amount of internal qi channeling through his body had caused cracks in it.
His eyes were replaced with blinding light, and his mind was almost destroyed from trying to control the raging energy. But he still tried his best to mellow the energy out as much as he could before passing it on to Jaegal Soso.
The old Taoist yelled, "Hurry up! I can’t hold him back for much longer."
Jaegal Soso increased the speed at which she was writing the runes to the limit. The runes started converging around Zeke, forming a ball-shaped prison.
The prison shrank until Zeke was completely trapped. Jaegal Soso was also reaching her limits, but she somehow drew the last rune. She coughed blood and fainted.
The prison started glowing as the last rune joined it. Namgoong Geom-Ryong sighed in relief before his body turned to dust. The other Transcendents behind him had also suffered internal injuries as they had used their vital qi.
Still, they were relieved. They had stopped the Heavenly Demon once more. Now they just had to take care of the small fry, and then they could focus on recovery.
What they didn’t notice was that Yonggi had appeared near the prison in his beast form. He looked at the old fogies and sneered. He neighed as if he were screaming a battle cry and stabbed the prison with his horn.
It pierced the prison as if it were as thin as paper, creating a crack in it. This crack was all that Zeke needed. His wings burst the prison apart. The Transcendents stared in horror as the weight of what was about to happen hit them full force.
Zeke stretched a little and said, "Thanks, Yonggi."
Yonggi replied, "No problem, Hyung. You must focus on killing them."
Zeke nodded and muttered, "Let’s try this."
He started circulating his Hell Qi to its limits, and his eyes began glowing. His wings fully unfurled, and a spell circle once again appeared on his palm. But he wasn’t done just yet. He commanded a large amount of Faith, and multiple spell circles appeared behind him.
He said, "Nether Spear: Heavens Fall."
A Nether Spear appeared in each of the spell circles and shot towards the Transcendents. Before they could take any countermeasures, the spears struck them. Each of them had multiple stab wounds.
The Hell Qi in the spears spread throughout their bodies and started corroding them. They died painful deaths—not just physically, but also mentally, as their last thoughts were filled with the horror that Zeke would inflict upon their loved ones.
While Zeke looked completely fine, he had also been injured, the only proof being the thin line of blood coming from the corner of his mouth. He spat a mouthful of blood and contacted the others using Faith.
He said, "The Transcendents at the Tournament have fallen."
He sensed a spatial fluctuation, and Mammoth Head appeared beside him.
He looked at the corroded corpses and said, "Well, what do you know, I was sure you’d need my help for this."
Zeke ignored his comment and asked, "Did you complete your mission?"
Mammoth Head replied, "Of course. Except for the leader of the Hao Sect, all Transcendents of the Iron Blood Alliance have fallen."
