Chapter 1675: 1675. He still cares a lot.
But she, unexpectedly, saw a glimmer in Leo Hall’s eyes.
A vague suspicion arose in her heart, and she continued:
"You and he are blood brothers; others love to compare you with Harry Hall, even your parents like to do so, right?"
It’s not that Elly Campbell possesses any mind-reading abilities, but it’s simply that normal parents love to compare their children.
Even siblings with the same parents are compared by their parents, not to mention someone like Leo Hall with a rather special status.
William Hall and Mia Brown are definitely prone to comparing their sons.
They are not the kind of thoughtless couple who, despite indulging their son, wouldn’t blindedly believe that their son is superior to Harry Hall.
Such comments are probably something Leo Hall often hears, thus uttering the sort of teenage angst filled words about wanting to destroy the world and have all humanity submit to him.
Sure enough, after she said this, Leo Hall’s face darkened, a clear sign of displeasure.
Yet, in the midst of his annoyance, it seemed he still hoped Elly Campbell would continue speaking.
For instance, about his older brother.
He looked at Elly Campbell, waiting for her to carry on.
"Don’t your parents also think that your brother is better than you, that you need to rely on your father to claim the Hall Clan, while Harry Hall does not?"
Otherwise, William Hall wouldn’t feel the urgency to push Leo Hall to contend with Harry Hall to the extent that he ended up in such trouble.
One has to admit, William Hall sincerely cares for his son, Leo Hall.
It’s just that he probably doesn’t realize that what Leo Hall wants is not just affection, but the recognition from his father, isn’t it?
After all, being an illegitimate child is naturally sensitive and self-conscious, with even one’s own parents thinking he’s inferior to his legitimate brother; it’s no wonder Leo Hall has developed such a stubborn and twisted personality.
Leo Hall’s eyes flickered slightly. Although he didn’t want to answer Elly Campbell, he inadvertently uttered "hmm".
Seeing him willing to respond to her on the topic of Harry Hall, Elly Campbell felt relieved instead.
She guessed correctly that this teenage boy, Leo Hall, must care deeply about Harry Hall, his brother.
Recognition from others may not matter, but from his parents, his brother—it should be important to him.
"Why do you think your brother receives such great recognition for his abilities?"
Elly Campbell queried him, "Is it because he is the son of the lawful wife, therefore he is the one recognized?"
Leo Hall recalled the foolish and malicious nature of that woman Leanne Richards, immediately dismissing this thought.
"Honestly, your mother is more capable and intelligent than Leanne Richards, yet even if your mother were the Hall Family’s lawful wife, if your identity were swapped with Harry Hall’s, do you think your parents would then recognize you, and those around you would recognize your abilities?"
Elly Campbell let out a sneer, "Leo Hall, recognition isn’t something you can force from others; it is something they must willingly give from the heart, respecting you, admiring you, submitting to you—that’s the true ’submission’, not your immature remarks."
From beginning to end, Elly Campbell never really believed his talk about "destroying the world", using it only to provoke him.
Had she known that the idea was genuinely in Leo Hall’s heart, she probably wouldn’t dare bring it up at all.
Leo Hall leaned back on the sofa, silent, seemingly contemplating Elly Campbell’s words or perhaps pondering something else.
