She quickly changed the subject, raising three fingers in a vow-like gesture, "I’ll listen to you all, whatever I need next time, I’ll tell you."
Harry Hall’s expression softened upon hearing her words, a trace of a smile returning to his face.
"Good girl!"
His tone was unabashedly affectionate as he chuckled softly, ruffling her hair once more, and said:
"I’m heading out to shop now, what do you want?"
"Houses, cars, planes, yachts, buy them all."
Harry was momentarily taken aback by her sudden remarks, knowing she was joking. However, he could sense that recently she had been deliberately distancing herself from him; even harmless jokes were rare from her.
So, hearing her mention it, he felt a bit happy instead.
If it wasn’t a joke, it would be even better.
Helen Melendy saw his stupefied look and raised her eyebrow, teasing:
"Didn’t you say you’d buy me anything? Are you scared hearing such a big demand?"
Harry came back to his senses and said with a gentle smile, "Alright, I’ll buy them all for you."
"Now, I’m going to buy groceries to make lunch for you, what do you want to eat?"
Helen had just said it offhandedly; earlier when she went out to buy groceries, she planned to come back and cook for herself. After the commotion, now hearing Harry mention it, she actually felt a bit hungry.
So she listed a few dishes, which Harry noted one by one before getting up to leave, "Wait for me, I’ll be right back."
After Harry left, the smile that held up at the corners of Helen’s mouth slowly faded.
During the exchange between Helen and Harry, Elly Campbell had remained silent. After Harry left, she hesitantly spoke:
"Helen, Harry is actually really good."
It was rare for Helen to hear Elly so seriously praise Harry; in the past, she had told her to decide based on her true feelings no matter what.
But now, she spoke this crucial sentence so seriously, making Helen look at her in surprise.
"Helen, won’t you really give Harry a chance?"
If it was before, she would have insisted that Helen follow her heart, but now she thought differently.
What happened today still scared her. She constantly kept recalling the situation, thinking how the outcome would have been if she hadn’t sensed it immediately.
But if she married Harry, at least he could take good care of her.
If she must entrust someone with Helen, Harry is undoubtedly the best choice.
As for Leanne Richards, that loud woman, with Harry around, Leanne wouldn’t overstep her bounds.
If it were in the past, she might still hold on to the promise of taking care of her for life, but now...

And she knew Adam Jones too well. He might agree to help her take care of Helen, but he could never be as meticulous as Harry.
Helen slowly wheeled herself to the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing out at the city streets bustling with heavy traffic. After a long silence, she said:
"It’s not that I’m not giving him a chance, but... I don’t want to burden him."
Her voice was soft, but the weight of her words struck a heavy blow on Elly’s heart.
Helen’s hand lightly rested on her immobile legs, her voice hoarse as she said:
"Elly, in this life, I will never be able to walk, I cannot burden him."
