Chapter 1652: 1652. Killing imperceptibly
You can never predict what a psychopath wants to do, not even imagine it.
She didn’t actively seek out Leo Hall. If he wasn’t lying to her, he would come to her when he developed the antidote. But if he was just playing games, it wouldn’t matter even if she found him.
She continued living her life, and during this period, she still experienced several times when she was unable to move. However, it was much better than before because she was mentally prepared for it, so she could react instantly when it happened.
However, the frequency of occurrences was much higher than before.
Elly Campbell knew that even if she didn’t tell Adam Jones or anyone around her, they would eventually notice something was wrong.
Nevertheless, the recent occurrences happened just right during the daytime, while she was in her office, so no one noticed.
But in the long run, this was no solution, so eventually she decided to contact Leo Hall proactively.
Gazing at the phone number saved in her phone, she remembered how he insisted on her saving his number back when they were in the Atlanta mountains, saying that maybe one day she would need to contact him.
Thinking back now, it was clear that back then he was meticulously planning for today’s event.
She wasn’t sure if the number would still work, but she tried dialing it anyway.
The call was quickly answered, and Leo’s cheerful voice came from the other side, "Sis, didn’t expect you to contact me on your own, I’m delighted."
Elly did not waste time speaking to him and directly asked:
"Is the special medicine developed yet?"
"Not yet."
Elly was not hopeful to begin with, and upon hearing his answer, she didn’t say more but continued:
"Is there another way to reduce the frequency of the occurrences?"
"About that..."
He chuckled pleasantly, "There is, but it hasn’t been tested yet. How about trying it out?"
"Where to?"
"I’m near your office, come and meet me."
Elly thought for a moment and said, "Alright."
Hanging up, Elly quickly went downstairs.
As soon as she stepped out of the Campbell building, a conspicuous car parked across the road.
Elly walked over, the car window rolled down, revealing Leo’s bright smile fooling no one with those mischievous dimples, "Sis."
"Where are we going?"
"Get in the car first."
Elly hesitated for a few seconds but finally opened the car door and got in.
As the car started again, Elly discreetly activated the real-time tracking mode on her phone, linking it to Adam Jones’s device.
Though she felt Leo wouldn’t harm her, at least not for now, she still left Adam some clues just in case.
However, her demeanor remained calm, not once did she glance at her phone.
The car drove eastward...
"Sis, it’s time to wake up."
A snapping finger sound came to her, and Elly felt her mind momentarily muddled, then abruptly clear.
The next second, she was utterly shocked.
She wasn’t in the car but in a high-tech laboratory.
All around was cold white, directly in front stood a row of transparent experimental equipment alongside various chemical reagents.
Moments ago she was sitting in Leo Hall’s car, not even drowsy, yet now she found herself in this unfamiliar place, without any recollection of how she got there.
