Chapter 1630: 1630. Can’t afford to offend, can’t afford to offend

Elly Campbell certainly knew that what Adam Jones said was true, but thinking about her island owner being kissed by another woman, even if unintentionally, she felt unhappy inside.

Seeing her still full of displeasure, Adam Jones continued to plead:

"How about this, you punish me now, you can punish me with anything, except ignoring me."

Elly raised an eyebrow at him, "Really, anything?"

"Yes."

Adam nodded seriously, "If I’m lying, I’m a puppy!"

As long as his wife was happy, a little punishment was nothing.

"Then let’s pay him back in kind."

"Hmm?"

Adam didn’t understand Elly’s meaning for a moment.

"You’ve been kissed by another woman, so I’ll find another man to kiss back, that will make it even."

Saying this, she backed away from Adam’s embrace, pretending to leave, but was pulled back into his arms by Adam.

"That won’t do, choose another punishment!"

Whoever dared to kiss his wife must be ready to face him.

Elly glanced at him sideways, speaking in a huff:

"Didn’t you say anything except ignoring you is fine? Didn’t you say if you lied, you’d be a puppy? Do you really want to be a puppy?"

"Woof woof woof!"

Elly was stunned for a moment by how decisively he turned into a puppy, then couldn’t hold back and burst into laughter.

She raised a hand to pinch Adam’s resolute chin, "I’ll let you go this time, but if I see something like this again, I’ll personally perform a neutering operation on you."

Adam’s scalp tightened, and he subconsciously glanced at his "brothers".

Can’t afford it, can’t afford it!

Better not provoke her, better not provoke her!

The couple easily cleared up the issue, and seeing that Elly hadn’t taken the incident of Johnson Fefferman suddenly kissing him to heart, Adam finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"The doctor said the IV drip might last all night, I think I should stay here,"

Elly was the first to speak up.

Leaving Johnson here alone seemed quite inconsiderate.

"No, staying here all night would be too exhausting."

"Do you want to stay?"

Elly squinted at him.

Adam quickly shook his head, saying:

"I’ll stay with you, so you can rest easy while you sleep."

Aren’t we supposed to be staying for Johnson?

Elly raised an eyebrow and glanced at him, again amused by his ingratiating manner.

"Fine, if you want to stay with me, stay. Anyway, I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving you here alone either,"

Elly huffed with a smile.

The hospital room wasn’t lacking in places to sleep; Elly went in first, while Adam needed to make a call to the Old Lady.

"Your phone’s off, use mine,"

Elly handed her phone to Adam, while she pushed the door open and walked into the room.

Adam took Elly’s phone but didn’t use it. Instead, he moved aside, took out his own phone, and indeed, the screen was entirely dark, indicating it was off.

But he remembered his phone was fully charged when he left the company, with a full battery, and he had only taken a call from Johnson. It was impossible for the phone to shut down in such a short time.

Pressing the power button, in no time, the phone turned back on.

The battery level showed 95%.

Adam’s face subtly turned cold, the dark depths of his eyes taking on a darker shade.

When Elly entered the hospital room, only a quarter of Johnson’s IV drip had finished.

Beside it, there were two full bottles, looking like it would indeed go on until dawn.
