Chapter 474: Chapter 474 - Convenient

"Well, that was easy. I was really expecting at least a little bit more of a challenge," I sighed, stretching my arms up.

"Yeah, it really was easy. I didn’t think having another person with me would make such a big difference," Replied Celes in agreement.

"Well, you’ve gotten stronger, and I’m no slouch myself, so I suppose we should’ve figured it’d turn out like this."

A few weeks have passed, and the two of us have been raiding Dungeons to train. It was mostly lower level Dungeons at first, C and B-Ranked ones, but we came across an A-Ranked Dungeon today and took it on.

And we cleared it with ease, neither of us have so much as a single scratch on us. There were a lot of Monsters in here, but none of them posed a real threat to us. Even though we were pretty heavily outnumbered, increasingly so with each subsequent floor, we mowed through every swarm of Monsters we encountered with ease.

While Monsters usually run away from me on instinct, I figured out a way to suppress whatever was triggering those instincts in them, and now it seems like they don’t perceive me any differently to how they perceive humans, so they attack instead of running away.

"Anyway, now that we’re done, we should hurry up and get out of here, Celes, before any Adventurers show up," I pointed out. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"Yeah, sounds good. It got pretty ugly last time," She nodded wryly.

During one of the B-Ranked Dungeons we raided, we ran into a party of Adventurers on the way out, and were forced to fight them since they attacked us. Well, Celes is a wanted criminal now, I bet there are a bunch of wanted posters of her set up all over the place.

Of course, with how strong she is, plus me on her side, they didn’t stand a chance, we wiped them all out without a problem.

"By the way, looks like you’ve got the hang of your Electromagnetism now. You used it to good effect against the Monsters we fought today," I remarked, as we headed down the Dungeon.

"Yeah, I’ve definitely gotten better at it, but it’s not good enough yet. It’s still not at a level where it’d be effective against S-Ranks," She sighed wistfully.

"I mean, it hasn’t been that long since you started practicing with that Spell, so I’d say you’ve made great progress. Just keep working at it and you’ll keep improving," I pointed out, patting her head.

"Heh, thanks...I’m still not used to this, to have someone praise and encourage me. It’s...it’s really nice," She replied with a cheerful smile.

She’s so adorable, I can’t stand it.

"I can lay on the praise more lavishly if you want," I grinned, ruffling her hair.

"H-Hey, cut it out, that tickles!" She giggled, before adding, "And no, don’t do that, it’d be embarrassing."

"So, what should we do once we get back to the cave?" I asked her.

"Hm, let’s see...oh, I know, we still have to finish the third movie in that trilogy we were watching. Let’s watch it and have some weed, booze and snacks," She suggested eagerly.

"Sure, sounds good. By the way, your hair’s starting to get pretty long. Are you gonna grow it out?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah, you’re right, I think this might be the longest it’s ever gotten. Hm, maybe that’s why I’ve been sweating more lately," She mused thoughtfully.

"I can shorten it a bit for you, if you want. Can’t do anything fancy, but I can manage a simple haircut," I offered.

I’ve done it before, so I have some experience cutting hair. Back when I was on the run in Obsidian with Prysm, I cut both my and her hair with the blade of my whip from time to time.

"Cool, in that case, I’ll take you up on that. Maybe I should go for shorter hair. What do you think?" She asked me.

"Let me think...well, you’re pretty cute, so I bet any hair length or style would look good on you," I remarked as I glanced at her.

"O-Oh, um...thanks, Larrk."

"Hm, how about a bit past shoulder-length. I’d rather not go too short since I might screw it up. The longer the length, the more of a margin of error I’ll have."

"I mean, I don’t really mind. Even if it ends up not looking that good, it’ll just grow back," She replied with a shrug.

"True, but still."

"What about you? It doesn’t look like your hair has gotten any longer," She frowned curiously.

"Yeah, it hasn’t. I can make my hair longer or shorter with just a thought, so I have no reason to cut it," I explained.

"Lucky, that sounds really convenient. I wish I could do that. Is it the same with your nails too?"

"Mhm, yeah," I nodded, before extending and retracting my fingernails to demonstrate, before adding, "This could be pretty useful in a fight too. Well, since I can transform my hands into blades, I suppose I won’t really need to use it. Then again, maybe if I’m up against an opponent that I can’t kill..."

"Oh, like if you want to capture someone alive?"

"Yeah, pretty much."

"You know, while it was pretty easy conquering this Dungeon, it’s a really pain to travel through. It’s so big, it’ll take ages to get out of here," She groaned wearily.

"Yeah, I think we’re only about a third of the way down now, so we’ve still got a fair bit of ground to cover," I replied, patting her head as she dragged her feet.

"Wait, what if we bust through the ground and rush through the floors till we reach the entrance?" She suggested hopefully.

"Probably not the best idea, we could end up causing a cave-in and get buried. I’d probably survive, but you’d get badly injured at the very least," I responded wryly.

"Yeah, you make a good point. That’d be a pretty crappy way to die..."
