Chapter 465: Chapter 465 - S-Ranks(Part 3)

I raced away as piercing beams of water came shooting towards me, evading them before unleashing a rapid bolt of lightning towards my opponent, who swiftly blocked the attack with a wall of water in front of himself.
"Is that the best you can do? I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised," He smirked tauntingly.
Neel Widd, he and I had reached S-Rank around the same time, I guess he must have felt like I took away a bit of his spotlight, because he’s been antagonistic towards me right from the beginning.
He was in his mid-twenties, with longish light blue hair that was tied up, dark blue eyes, a fair complexion, and he was on the taller side with an average build.
"This has been a long time coming. I can’t wait to see the look on your face before I kill you," I remarked, taking a deep breath to keep my composure.
"You cocky Commoner bitch. You stole the words right out of my mouth...you’ll be the one to die here!" He declared, before whipping his arm across and firing out a rapid, slashing wave of water towards me.
I swiftly got low to evade it, before racing away as he extended out several tentacles of water and sent them shooting out towards me, chasing after me as I sprinted across the area, my fists crackling intensely as I charged lightning into my hands.
I then leapt off to my right as one of the tentacles closed in on me and zipped on, narrowly evading it before raising my left hand up towards him and firing out the charged up lightning in the form of a rapid, piercing arrow.
He raised another wall of water as the lightning arrow began to close in on him, before a sharp yell of pain rang out as my attack burst through the wall and struck his left arm, his body stiffening up sharply as the lightning scorched the skin around his bicep, wisps of smoke billowing out before he gritted his teeth and unleashed a barrage of water blasts towards me.
I weaved across the area to evade them, a couple of the blasts grazing me as I narrowly managed to avoid any direct hits, before I unleashed the lightning charged in my left hand, a large, swirling pillar of water rising up in front of Neel as my lightning close in on him, blocking the attack.
Damn it, I was hoping that would get through...it’s hard to charge up my attacks while running around and dodging. He’s definitely underestimating me, that’s why I was able to land a hit, but the longer this goes on and the more he sees what I’m capable of, the more he’ll adjust and adapt.
Still, that hit I landed did a lot of damage, he won’t be able to cast his Magic as easily now, and his movements should be slower too.
He always refused to go on any Quests with me, very few Adventurers have actually seen what I’m capable of, most of whom were Commoners, I often ended up taking on Dungeons by myself.
Neel has never actually seen me fight before, he doesn’t know the full scope of my abilities...I’ve got a couple of tricks up my sleeve that should help me catch him off-guard, but I’d like to weaken him a bit more before I use those tricks.
After all, it goes both ways, I haven’t seen him in action before either. So, I can’t afford to be too reckless against him.
"What’s the matter? Your attacks are starting to get sloppy!" I called out, as I zipped across to evade an incoming barrage of water blasts, before firing several intense lightning bolts up into the air.
He stiffened before sprinting away as my bolts plummeted down towards him, before forming a shield of water above himself as a couple of the bolts closed in on him, clouds of steam bursting out above him as my lightning collided against his water.
He then snapped open his jaws and unleashed a massive wave of water towards me, which tore the ground apart as it barreled towards me with immense speed.
I quickly raced away and leapt towards a nearby tree, grabbing a branch and pulling myself up, just in time as the water wave slammed against the tree, which shook violently upon impact.
I tightened my grip to avoid falling off, perching myself atop the branch, several leaves falling off.
As his attack petered out, the water spread out a seeped into the ground, before I quickly leapt off the tree as a rapid, swirling blast of water came shooting up towards, a sharp, splintering crunch ringing out as the blast slammed onto the side of the tree.
I then leapt onto a large rock and unleashed several intense, crackling streaks of lightning towards the water on the ground, Neel quickly taking control of the water in his vicinity and moving it away from him.
His eyes then widened in alarm as I fired out a piercing beam of lightning towards him, quickly leaping out of the way before crying out in pain as the beam grazed the back of his left shoulder.
"I-I’ll kill you!" He snapped, before unleashing a barrage of water arrows towards me.
I blasted out a crackling mass of lightning in front of myself as the arrows closed in on me, vaporizing the water arrows as they closed in on me and collided against my lightning.
Alright, I think it’s time I step it up.
As he began to charge up several water balls around himself, he frowned slightly as lightning began crackling around my entire body, steadily intensifying as a slight glow shone out around me.
My senses began to sharpen as I felt a burst of energy swelling inside me, my hair standing up wildly, sparks of lightning bursting out around me, crackling viciously, painting charred streaks across the dirt.
The water balls he’d charged up then narrowed and sharpened, spinning with immense speed before he launched them towards me.
I then shot forward with a drastic boost in speed, zigzagging and weaving across to evade the swirling water projectiles, before charging lightning into my right hand as I shot past the projectiles and closed in on Neel.
"Wha-...?!" He blurted out in shock, before letting out a gasping wheeze of pain as I struck his neck with the side of his palm, scorching his skin around that spot.
He shakily gritted his teeth as he raised his left hand towards me and began to charge up a swirling mass of water, before stiffening as he lost sight of me right as he fired it, his gaze darting across frantically as I slipped behind him and grabbed either side of his head with my hands.
An excruciating scream of pain rang out as lightning erupting around my hands, charring the sides of his heads before I swiftly let go and zipped away as he extended out several water tentacles to try and grab me, evading their grasp with ease before firing out a bolt of lightning, hitting his lower back and sending him stumbling back with a pained grimace.
"Y-You...you damned whore...!" He snarled seethingly, his eyes bulging with rage.
Huh, I didn’t think this would so effective. No one’s ever seen me use this technique, I developed it pretty recently, and I’ve only used it on Monsters.
I can’t maintain it for very long, but it looks like I won’t need to, it’s clear that he can’t keep up with my boosted speed.
I then raced around him, his eyes widening as his gaze darted about in a desperate attempt to try and keep up with my speed, before I shot in towards him from behind and slammed my fist onto the middle of his back, blasting out lightning upon impact and sending him stumbling forward, before I fired out a burst of lightning at the back of his head.
He let out a sharp cry as my attack hit its mark, before he fell onto his hands and knees, his entire body trembling in pain.
I then fired out lightning arrows aimed at his heels, his back arching sharply as I seared the back of his feet, streaks of smoke billowing out as the stench of burnt flesh wafted out.
I zipped over to his left before slamming my foot against his side, knocking him over and onto his back, before I stomped on the middle of his chest, driving my foot in as I stared down at him.
"Wh-What...what the hell did you do...? Th-That speed...," He uttered weakly.
"It’s a technique I created. By channeling lightning throughout my entire body, I can boost my speed. Although, if I’d known it’d work this well, I would’ve used it a lot sooner," I remarked, taking aim at his face as I charged up lightning in my palm.
"Y-You...you created a new technique? Wh-What the hell...I suppose I’ve lost in more ways than one," He responded with wistful sigh, right as I blasted his face with the charged up lightning, killing him...
