Chapter 406: Chapter 406 - Vampire Attack(Part 32)
"Wall of Wind," Chanted Dracula as I unleashed a barrage of intense, crackling lightning streaks towards them, warping them away as they closed in, as he formed a powerful, swirling mass of wind around him.
He then turned his gaze up as Satan zipped up above him and fired down a massive beam of Obliteration down towards him, before swiftly veering across to evade it.
"Now, Piercing Shockwave," He chanted, before a rapid, concentrated burst shot towards Satan, hitting his right arm and tearing it off in the blink of an eye as he quickly swerved off to his left, but was too slow to react.
He then glanced in my direction as I shot towards him rapidly, before activating my Monster Thought Communication Skill and unleashing a loud yell straight into his head, a startled look appearing on his face before I sent my whips shooting out towards him, charged with Azazel’s Exploding Fists ability, while simultaneously turning my right arm into a powerfully corrosive slime and extending it out towards him with as much speed as I could generate.
"Shockwave," He chanted with a grimace, unleashing a devastating force around himself to blow away my whips and slime before they could reach him, fierce explosions bursting out as the impact triggered the Exploding Fists ability charged into my whips.
He’s pretty damn tough...and this is him at just a third of his full power. I’ve unleashed my Soul Weapon Ascension and the full extent of my Contracts, but I’m yet to land a hit, and the same goes for Satan.
Still, his speed and strength aren’t overwhelming, I’d say it’s on par with us, or maybe slightly lower...the problem is the practically unlimited versatility of his Unique Ability.
It’s so powerful that we can’t afford to get too close and are forced to attack from a distance, which gives him a lot more time to react to our attacks.
And why isn’t he using the moonlight barrier? I doubt it’s just because he’s underestimating us...in which case, he’s probably trying to assess what we’re capable of first, and once he has a clearer idea of our ability levels, that’s likely when he’ll opt to go in for the kill. We need to figure out a way to break through his defenses before it comes to that...
"You’re a real pain to deal with, aren’t you?" I called out, before unleashing a massive blast of blue flames before yelling into his head through my Thought Communication again, startling him slightly before he rapidly chanted and formed a towering pillar of water in front of himself.
A sharp sizzle rang out as my flames collided against the pillar, a massive cloud of steam erupting upon impact, before he zipped up into the air as my flames petered out...he created just about the perfect amount of water to extinguish my flames, this clearly isn’t the first time he’s faced Dragon Fire.
"Speeding Meteor," He chanted as he came to a stop several meters above me, before my eyes widened in alarm as a massive rock came plummeting down towards me at a blinding speed.
I quickly turned my entire body into slime and expanded, the meteor hitting the middle of my slimy body and bursting through, before I re-formed and solidified back into my physical form as a deafening crash rang out from below, as the meteor slammed onto the ground with a devastating impact, the entire area rumbling violently as deep cracks spread out from the point of impact, a large crater forming as a thick cloud of dust rose up.
"You’re the one that’s a pain to deal with, human...I’ll warn you to refrain from shouting into my thought ag-...," He began, before swiftly shifting his gaze across as Satan zipped up several meters away to his left.
"Come, now, you had better not forget about me!" He exclaimed, before firing out a rapid, drilling beam of Obliteration towards the Vampire King, as I telepathically yelled into his mind again.
"Redirection Portal," Dracula swiftly chanted as he narrowed his eyes at me, opening a portal to his left to swallow up the blast before opening a second portal, facing me, before the beam came shooting out of it, barreling towards me.
I quickly flew out of the way, narrowly evading it before it slammed onto the middle of the crater, boring into the ground before petering out.
"That’s a new trick," Mused Satan warily.
"Indeed, you’ll find that I’ve come up with many ’new tricks’ that you’ve never seen before, provided you survive long enough to see them, that is," Responded Dracula, before chanting, "Dragon Fire Arrows."
What?
As he unleashed a massive barrage of blue flames arrowd all around him, I quickly manifested Magic Eater as I flew away, swallowing up the arrows shooting towards me.
Shit, how is he-...well, if I was able to figure out how to cast Dragon Fire, then it’s only natural that someone else would be able to do so too, I should’ve anticipated this.
He’s setting the entire area below ablaze, this is bad...those flames are gonna spread rapidly if left unchecked, we can’t let them reach the city!
"Keep him busy, I’ll put out the flames," I communicated to Satan through my Thought Communication, before swooping down as he responded affirmatively through the telepathic link.
I then swallowed up the flames using Magic Eater as fast as I could, as Satan unleashed a volley of Obliteration blasts at Dracula to keep him at bay.
"I must say, I’m disappointed, Demon Lord...I expected better from you. But I suppose I should have figured that you wouldn’t have improved all that much from our previous encounter...after all, you were imprisoned for over two centuries until recently. Redirection Portal," Remarked Dracula, as he used that portal trick again to divert the incoming attacks.
I didn’t even think of that...Demonic Grade beings like the Dragon Kings, Demons and Elder Vampires aren’t able to get stronger once they’ve fully mastered their abilities and realized their potential, they have immense power but that power has a ceiling.
Of course, they can still improve their combat prowess through experience and sharpening their existing skill and abilities...but drastically improving beyond that ceiling is effectively impossible.
However, that doesn’t really apply to Dracula...his Unique Ability basically has unlimited potential, it’s an absolutely broken power. The only limit to it is his own imagination...how the hell are we supposed to fight something like that?
