Zhao Kai was indeed impressed by Xu Feng's dominance, but questions began to pop into his mind.

How did he know what to do?

How did he unleash a deadly aura without making much movement?

There were so many questions that he truly wondered if this was really the Xu Feng he knew. He simply didn't ask about it because he didn't want to make things awkward between them.

Alas, his facial expression easily betrayed him.

With Xu Feng's perception, how could he not detect that skeptical and doubtful look? Not to mention, the latter didn't even attempt to conceal it whatsoever.

"The mysterious boss taught me how to do so." Xu Feng suddenly said. "The boss told me that in high society, you must never lower your value."

"I see…" As if enlightened, Zhao Kai nodded his head. It made perfect sense to him. Otherwise, there was just no way Xu Feng would suddenly know this.

"By the way, did the boss tell you why I must stay in Evershade City?" Zhao Kai sighed and lamented.

The truth was that it was really boring to be all alone in Evershade City and focus on all the development. Sure, it was significant to lay a proper foundation for the guild discreetly, but he really can't handle the boredom.

"Okay, stop sulking and enjoy yourself. Can't you hear the DJ beat sound?" Xu Feng smoothly shifted the topic and pointed out the music as they approached closer and closer to the main venue.

The High Table Club wasn't just some random club. It was built and designed on a large scale. Thus, despite having walked for more than 5 minutes, they had yet to reach the main venue.

Aside from their presence, there were quite a few employees walking around.

These employees were all dressed in suits, and Xu Feng could tell these people knew how to fight. They were definitely trained professionals, who could easily whip out a gun and fire upon an unexpected intruder.

Just as they were about to reach the main venue, Zhao Kai spotted a bar.

"Oh, shall we get some alcohol first?" He inquired.

Despite the inquiry, Xu Feng didn't get the chance to respond when Zhao Kai had already gone ahead and taken a look at the menu.

However, when he saw the price, Zhao Kai nearly choked on his saliva.

"50 bucks for a small drink?" He found the drink to be so damn expensive.

His tone was loud enough to attract the bartenders, as well as the guests who were seated in their chairs.

One of them even looked at Zhao Kai with a confused expression. "Did you line up for more than 5 hours?"

Confused by the question, Zhao Kai turned to them and realized it was a woman— a beautiful one at that. His eyes nearly popped out, given he had rarely gotten the opportunity to meet many beautiful women in life.

Meanwhile, the woman became more and more positive that the person in front of her was someone who lined up for a long time to gain entry.

Otherwise, there was no way he would make an outcry for 50-dollar alcohol in such a place.

'I didn't expect the club to really let them in without checking their wealth.' The woman thought to herself. It wasn't that she wanted to look down on them, but those who were poor and still desired to enter the club only meant one thing.

They wanted to latch onto the rich and leech off them. Continue reading at Freewebnovel

Of course, most of them were women who wanted to seek rich men for an easy life, but there were still men doing the same.

However, when the woman looked at the man up and down, she only had one comment: mediocre.

While Zhao Kai was stuck in his tongue, unable to reply, Xu Feng facepalmed and had no choice but to rescue him.

This was an extremely common scenario for first-time clubgoers. They talked big, but when push came to shove, they all froze in place, unable to utter a single sound.

"Pardon my companion's behavior. He hadn't been led outside much because of his strict family." Xu Feng smiled lightly, only to be surprised.

He hadn't focused much on the woman until now. And when he did, he finally recognized her.

'Rebecca Richards…' It took him a while because of how young she looked right now compared to the one he recalled in the past timeline.

What made her appearance here more alarming was the fact that Rebecca Richards was none other than the daughter of Francis Richards. She was also the granddaughter of Derrick Richards, and those two were the people who owned the one and only Lethal Finance.

'Why is she here?' Xu Feng twitched his brows, unable to comprehend her presence at Avalon City.

As Xu Feng was startled and confused by her presence, Rebecca also realized both these two people were weirdos.

She snapped her fingers and called for the nearby guard.

"Are you sure these two have been granted entry?" She then questioned, clearly skeptical of their behavior.

One was struck frozen from her appearance while the other seemed confused by her.

Just what the hell was going on?

"Um, I have confirmed that these two are verified." The guard smiled bitterly and explained, "The one that seemed frozen is the grandson of Zhao Gaofu, owner and president of Zhao Enterprise."

Alarmed, Rebecca clearly didn't expect that.

"What about the other one?" She then asked, clearly inquiring about Xu Feng.

The guard quickly froze as well, unsure of how to respond to this.

"..."

When Rebecca saw the guard reacting nearly the same way, she became speechless.

'Even the guard is acting weird…' She cried inwardly.

"The guard won't be able to answer you because they never got my identity." Amidst the awkwardness, Xu Feng had already regained his composure and smiled.

"Sorry for spacing out earlier, but I honestly didn't expect to encounter the pearl granddaughter of Derrick Richards, Rebecca, to be here."
