Chapter 87: Most Beautiful Woman In The Empire
"Am I truly that irrelevant nowadays?"
The moment Caelum looked toward the speaker, his entire expression froze.
Standing before them was an unbelievably beautiful woman with long golden hair flowing behind her, large expressive eyes, and the mature elegance appearing in her late twenties.
Her presence alone naturally dominated the room.
And more importantly, Caelum recognized her immediately.
She had visited his home before, and even held him when he was a baby.
’I should have remembered this... damn it!’ Caelum screamed internally while maintaining a calm face outside.
The woman before them was none other than Catherine Valor.
The Principal of The Sky School.
And beyond that, the Duchess of the Valor Dukedom, rulers of State 2, the second most powerful state within the Zenith Empire after the Imperial State itself.
"Haven’t you grown quite a bit?" Catherine asked with a warm smile while looking directly at Caelum.
Meanwhile, Skyla stared between the two of them in disbelief.
"Mom! You know this guy?!"
Hearing that, Caelum’s expression immediately became more complicated.
Only now did he fully remember that a few moments ago, he had openly mocked Skyla’s background.
So when Skyla proudly looked toward him again with visible arrogance, Caelum immediately responded with a perfectly expressionless poker face.
Unfortunately for him, Catherine seemed to find the situation amusing.
"So?" she asked sweetly while slowly walking closer toward him.
"Have you finally reconsidered the offer I gave you?"
Then she smiled more deeply.
"Are you transferring schools now?"
The moment she arrived before him, Caelum instantly felt danger.
"You’ve truly grown into a handsome young man, Mira would definitely feel proud seeing you like this," Catherine said while casually ruffling his hair.
Mira was Caelum’s deceased mother.
Catherine had always been one of her closest friends.
"Though honestly, I’m still disappointed you chose Imperial Zenith School instead of mine." Catherine continued with a sigh.
Then suddenly she pulled his ear.
"Ouch!" Caelum groaned painfully.
"And I even heard that you’ve become somewhat close with the Princess lately," Catherine added while bending slightly closer toward him.
At such close distance, her beauty felt genuinely overwhelming.
"So tell me, Is she your type?" she continued while lifting his chin lightly.
Then her golden eyes curved teasingly.
"Because I’m still single, you know. Even dragons would fight over me." Her voice became softer.
"MOM! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN SAYING?!" Skyla shouted from nearby with complete disbelief written across her face.
Meanwhile, Bonjour looked utterly stunned, so much that the barbarian’s jaw had practically dropped.
Caelum himself remained completely calm externally.
Internally, however he was facing a different situation.
’Damn! Old cow trying to eat young grass! I refuse to fall for this trap!’
Even if Catherine was currently the most beautiful woman present in the Empire, he absolutely refused to lose composure.
The cultivation knowledge talisman he had previously received had not only transferred cultivation methods and techniques into his mind.
It had also filled his head with countless strange sayings, ancient proverbs, curses, cultivation plots, and cultural knowledge from various cultivation worlds.
And among all those teachings, one truth stood supreme.
Beautiful older women were dangerous.
Very dangerous.
"Aunt— no, Principal," Caelum corrected himself midway.
"I genuinely wish to return to my own school. However, I can fully testify that our transportation here was entirely accidental."
While saying that, Caelum directly maintained eye contact with Catherine.
He absolutely refused to lower his gaze knowing that looking downward now would lead to catastrophic consequences (?).
Catherine suddenly smiled more deeply after seeing his reaction.
"You’ve really grown up," she muttered softly as her expression became nostalgic.
"I still remember the first time we met, you were still a tiny child back then, but the moment I carried you, your cheeks became unnaturally red and you let out a weird laugh..."
"Please stop..." Caelum pleaded immediately.
He absolutely did not want his dark history exposed publicly.
Meanwhile, Catherine’s gaze shifted toward Bonjour.
"Now you even made a barbarian friend, and not just any barbarian either, this one is probably a future chief candidate."
The moment Catherine fully looked toward Bonjour, a terrifying pressure naturally descended upon him.
The barbarian immediately straightened his posture instinctively.
Catherine possessed considerable experience dealing with barbarians.
Finally, she returned her attention toward Caelum again.
"So then, why don’t you properly explain how the two of you arrived here?"
Her smile remained gentle.
Unfortunately, her eyes clearly suggested that this was not truly a request.
’Yeah... This definitely isn’t optional,’ Caelum sighed.
"Okk..." he muttered weakly.
And thus, the story began once again.
***
"I honestly find this entire story impossible to believe," Catherine muttered while massaging her forehead slightly.
"If you fabricated all of that, then your storytelling skills have improved tremendously."
Despite her words, she had not detected even the slightest lie from either Caelum or Bonjour.
That was precisely what made the situation troublesome.
Everything they described sounded absurd and somehow surviving all of it.
Any normal person would have dismissed the entire thing as nonsense immediately.
Unfortunately, the two boys genuinely believed every word they said.
Catherine sighed.
"Alright," she said calmly.
"I’ll personally send the two of you back to your school."
The moment Caelum heard that, his eyes brightened instantly.
However, before he could celebrate fully, Catherine continued speaking.
"But before that, you will need to do something for me." Her lips curved slightly upward.
"You are absolutely the greatest Principal I have ever met," Caelum immediately declared without hesitation.
"Honestly, even my own Headmaster cannot compare to you in generosity, and please send us back quickly, I can definitely do whatever you need."
If Aurelius were present, he would want to beat Caelum, considering he gave the kid the condensed energy core of the Spirit Dragon.
And at that moment, Caelum genuinely wanted to leave this place as fast as possible.
Internally, he had already cursed Korga dozens of times for teleporting them into this nightmare situation.
Catherine watched his reaction with visible amusement.
"Oh?" she said teasingly while casually playing with his hair again.
"What sudden enthusiasm. Though honestly, I normally don’t like younger boys..."
She leaned closer toward him smiling beautifully.
"...I suppose I could reconsider my preferences for you. So? Want to give it a shot?"
"MOM?!" Skyla shouted once again from nearby in absolute disbelief.
Meanwhile, Bonjour stared toward Caelum with growing admiration.
After all, subduing someone stronger than oneself is what Barbarians considered the best.
Without caring about the reactions around her, Catherine slowly walked behind Skyla afterward.
Then she wrapped one arm around her daughter’s shoulders.
"Your task is very simple," Catherine said calmly.
"Defeat my daughter in a fight."
