Chapter 126: Jiang Moqin

[You... What is the meaning of this? I thought we had a deal!]

The Past stared at Caelum in disbelief as the boy merely shrugged.

"We never had a formal agreement, and don’t make it sound like I wronged you."

He pointed at the others far behind him.

"If I hadn’t been here, every single one of them would have died."

Though he didn’t show it on his face, he also somewhat blamed the school authorities.

Something like this should never have been left unchecked.

Still, he looked at the Past and Future seriously.

"I respect that you still had the heart to stop this madness but it wasn’t enough... and there is no pill for regret so I won’t change my mind when the lives of my friends are involved."

At this point, the [Soul Banner of an Evil Cultivator] had already drained nearly eighty percent of the Present’s strength.

[UHHAAA...]

The Present released a painful groan.

Seeing her condition, both the Past and Future experienced a drastic change in expression.

After all, regardless of their differences, they were ultimately the same existence.

If the Present were extinguished, the consequences would inevitably affect them as well.

[The greed of humans!]

[Even after we protected you and tried to send you back!]

The Future and Past spoke almost simultaneously.

[From this point onward, whatever happens is entirely your responsibility!]

The Future felt genuine confusion, this outcome was something she had never foreseen.

Then something changed as a strange resonance spread between the three entities and their existence began overlapping.

Caelum felt danger.

And before he could stop them, an familiar fluctuation erupted outward as his eyes widened.

"Divinity?!"

The word escaped his mouth and at the same time, the three beings merged together.

"Run!" Caelum shouted.

Without hesitation, he raised a massive Ice Barrier around the merging entity.

The others had already regrouped and were approaching.

Jojo’s expression instantly darkened.

"Everyone back! And Skyler barrier!"

Skyler reacted without hesitation as Divine power erupted from his body.

At the same time, he removed a defensive artifact resembling a keychain and activated it.

On the other hand, the Ice Barrier fractured.

Crack! Boom!

The entire structure exploded apart as a noble and terrifying presence slowly emerged from within.

Caelum was blasted backward by the shockwave.

Fortunately, he managed to regain his footing.

Then the being opened its eyes.

[Foolish mortal...]

The voice echoed through the entire world.

Simply looking at the entity made Caelum’s eyes ache slightly.

It wasn’t unbearable, but it was enough to warn him that this existence was fundamentally different.

"Caelum! Get away from there right now!" Jojo’s voice rang out.

His expression had never been more serious.

Even before coming here, he had rarely encountered something like this.

A vestige, a fragment of divinity.

Even if it was only a tiny fragment of a true godly vestige, it was still the most dangerous existence he had seen since arriving on the Earthly Plane.

Fortunately, such a being could not remain here forever.

The world itself would reject it and all they had to do was survive.

It had become a race against time.

Could they endure until the world expelled the entity? Or would they die first?

’Fuck! This is bad!’ Jojo felt his fur stand on end.

Then he exited Skyler’s barrier as his eyes briefly landed on Paul.

’Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!’

He wasn’t in good condition either, yet he still had to move.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed him.

Before he could react, he found himself lifted onto someone’s shoulder.

"We go together."

Bonjour’s voice sounded as Jojo stared at him then at the others.

"We can’t leave anyone behind!" Paul declared.

To everyone’s surprise, his courage was somehow still at its peak.

The others nodded as well but Jojo only exploded at them.

"You crazy kids! We only need a quick rescue!"

Nobody listened to the Power Panda as they continued moving forward.

’I’m surrounded by idiots, do they even know what they’re facing?’

Jojo felt a headache coming.

The logical choice was obvious.

The more people that survived, the better.

Yet not one of them seemed willing to leave.

’I’m going insane...’ At this point, he simply wanted peace.

Meanwhile, the divine entity looked down upon them.

[Humans are always the same, greedy, self-centered, hypocritical and the source of countless evils. Now you wi–]

"Hahahahaha..."

A laugh interrupted her as the entity paused.

Caelum was laughing.

"I don’t know who you are but you are clearly the stupidest being I have ever met!"

The Soul Banner was still embedded in her skull.

Caelum formed several hand seals as his Innate Qi, his very Life Force began to burn as the Soul Banner lit up.

A crimson glow spread across its surface.

"Sacrifice." Caelum said in an unknown language as the word carried an ancient and ominous weight.

The Soul Banner trembled and every soul it had devoured throughout the battle began burning.

The divine entity suddenly felt something was wrong and the world changed.

The sky turned crimson.

The entire world turned blood-red as countless corpses materialized across the landscape.

The horizon stretched endlessly, covered by mountains of the dead.

The smell of blood and slaughter filled the air as the divine entity noticed someone.

At the highest mountain of corpses sat a man in a meditative pose.

His crimson hair flowed behind him like blood and he appeared to be in his late twenties.

He sat calmly as though the endless sea of corpses beneath him was the most natural throne in existence.

Slowly, he opened his eyes and two crimson pupils stared directly at the divine entity.

The moment their gazes met, silence fell upon the world as the man observed her for a few moments.

"A ghost? A heavenly race? No, you are something different."

He studied her as though examining an interesting specimen.

"Your soul is far denser than a normal ghost but at the same time it is distributed, what an unusual existence you are, did you get corrupted or something?"

The divine entity frowned as the other party’s attitude irritated her.

[Hmph! I don’t know what trick this is but do you think you can stop me?]

Her voice shook the blood-red world, yet, the red-haired man remained seated.

"Hmm... No way, I don’t possess that kind of power."

The divine entity froze not expecting such an answer.

Then the man smiled.

"But we skipped introductions, didn’t we?"

Before he could continue, the divine entity attacked.

Boom!

She appeared before him instantly as a single punch descended and the surrounding space trembled.

The blood-red world itself shook from the force.

Yet just before the attack landed a crimson light emerged around the man and the punch vanished.

[What?!]

"We are intelligent beings, let’s not fight immediately upon our first meeting."

The divine entity stared at him as her gaze carried caution.

Meanwhile, the red-haired man slowly rose from his seat atop the mountain of corpses.

The sea of blood below seemed to respond to his movements.

Countless souls wailed throughout the world.

"I am Jiang Moqin, the spirit residing within this weapon."

Jiang Moqin continued as a faint smile appeared on his face.

"I am also known by another name."

The blood-red world trembled as the mountains of corpses seemed to come alive.

Countless crimson eyes opened among the dead as Jiang Moqin spoke.

"Daoist Worldly Puppeteer."
