Chapter 304: Hidden Scheme
Gin hurriedly hunted the remaining disciples of the Joyful Union Sect, breaking through two small realms. This shocked the people around him, but considering Albert managed to take down Xiang Ba, they didn’t dare to question him, at least for the time being.
Meanwhile, the Mountain Master and Albert had reached the ship. There was an elder who had been protecting the ship, greeting them.
"Congratulations, Mountain Master."
"Yeah. Thank you for your hard work. I think I will have to recuperate for a few years to recover from my injuries after this. However, we only lose about ten percent of our force. With the resources we can take from the Joyful Union Sect, it’s far above what we lose. So, our sect will surely get stronger after this.
"Though, it doesn’t mean there will be no danger. For the time being, we have to make sure the connection with the Divine Kingdom doesn’t worsen.
"For now, set up a few meetings with the Divine Kingdom. We will have to turn them into our allies if we don’t want to get besieged by the rest when I’m still recuperating."
"Understood. I shall pass your messages to all elders as soon as we return." The elder nodded with a serious expression.
"Good." The Mountain Master nodded before dragging Albert inside. "Alright. It’s time to rest."
Because of the unique situation, the Mountain Master had made sure Albert returned to his room to recover from his injuries.
Meanwhile, the battle immediately shifted in their favor once Xiang Ba died. The people from the Joyful Union Sect fell into despair when they witnessed Xiang Ba’s death.
The Five Elements Mountain gained momentum and eliminated the remaining people. It was a huge victory for Five Elements Mountain.
There were a few elders who were tasked with looting the Joyful Union Sect. Of course, a lot of disciples took part in this as well.
Gin knew that many disciples would try to take something into their own pockets. He could follow them and do the same, but Gin wasn’t interested in their cultivation resources. And since he had helped the Mountain Master calm Albert down, the Mountain Master would surely not be stingy with him either.
So, all that was left for him was none other than to return to Albert to explain the situation.
’Now that it has come to an end, there should be no more problems that will befall the Magic Continent. For now, we can relax.’
Gin returned to the flying ship and visited Albert.
It seemed Albert had been waiting for him for a long time. He had a bored expression on his face.
When Gin entered his room, Albert was glaring at him, questioning him about why he didn’t let him kill the remaining disciples.
"Please don’t be angry at me, Teacher. I did it for you." Gin made an awkward smile.
"Well, I should be able to level up a few more if I kill them. Won’t it be better if I get stronger that way?"
Gin shook his head. "Right now, your situation looks like you have expended a lot of your power. In fact, the Mountain Master should think that you have been burning your own power and lifespan in order to use your power continuously. And once you broke through after defeating Xiang Ba, he should think the Heart Demon in your heart had disappeared.
"That’s why it’s better for you to rest. He’s already worried about your condition. And if you continue, he will surely think that your foundation should have cracked. This way, he might have a less favorable opinion of you since a dead genius is nothing compared to an average living person.
"Right now, you are under this kind of assumption. So, I think it’s better for you to rest."
"But—" Albert wanted to refute him, but Gin raised one finger to stop him. "There is one big reason for this, Master."
"What do you mean?" Albert frowned.
"You shouldn’t have forgotten why you came to this place in the first place, right?"
"..." Albert fell silent. Of course, he still remembered. He wanted to destroy the Joyful Union Sect in order to stop their invasion. "Wait a minute. Don’t tell me..."
"Yeah. This is a perfect opportunity for you to return to the Magic Continent. You always want to finish your adventure there before fully exploring this continent, right?
"So, we have to take advantage of their misunderstanding. With their assumption, it won’t be weird if you choose to cultivate in seclusion for a few years. You have advanced your cultivation too rapidly after all. So, they will think you are trying to consolidate your power and make sure your foundation isn’t sloppy.
"During that time, you can use your Space Element to teleport outside and start making your way back to the Magic Continent. Unfortunately, since you are my master, they won’t mind if I’m the one visiting you to take care of you. They won’t bother to check your condition as long as I remain here.
"Unfortunately, I can only stop them for a few years. But with your current strength, you surely have enough time to explore the continent, right? And when you reach here and get even stronger, you can do whatever you want.
"So, that’s my suggestion. What do you think?"
Albert looked down, falling into deep thought. He liked Gin’s reasoning. It truly allowed him to fulfill his original objective, even though there were some problems attached to it. But generally, that was what he needed right now.
After considering the pros and cons, he took Gin’s advice and agreed to cooperate. It hadn’t been that long since he left the continent, but there was anticipation in his heart.
Though, Albert had to ask one question. "Are you not going back with me?"
"Nah, it’s fine. I don’t really have too many happy memories there either. As long as you bring my letter, that’s enough."
Albert let out a long sigh, finally feeling relaxed. "Alright then. Let’s do it your way."
"Hehe." Gin pumped his fist. "Leave the rest to me."
