Chapter 561: [A Society of Secrets] [8] [Twins]
The gentle light of the sun vanishing behind the horizon fell on Aimar’s face, giving him an ethereal look.
His hair, which he had cut short, swayed in the wind as he walked in the bazaar which was two cities away from the church headquarters.
"Sir, would you like remaining body parts of the old race?"
"Have no fear, take this medicine and become a beast in bed!"
"Find the best silk dress in the world made by the best tailor!"
The shouts and persuasion of the shop owners rang in his ears.
Some of them were scams, some authentic, but mostly counterfeit.
Aimar silently looked around the place with his hands in his pockets. His golden eyes scanned through the items silently.
He paused when he saw a wine-colored gown that was backless.
Aimar walked closer and touched the fabric as he thought to himself.
’This will look really good on Elise...’
As he was debating whether he should buy the dress or not, a person walked by his side.

"Looks nice." He said in a deep voice. "Elise will like it a lot."
Aimar closed his eyes, opened them, and looked at the young man.
His face was a reflection of his own, like he was looking at himself. He had the demeanor of someone powerful and easygoing.
His eyes were gentle and filled with wisdom while his black hair had a tint of gold in it.
Aimar turned back to the dress, ignoring him.
Oliver’s smile died down. "Hey, hey. Don’t ignore your brother like that!"
Aimar looked at the shop owner, who was looking at them confusedly, and asked, "Can you pack this?"
The owner nodded and did as asked. Aimar paid the price before he began to walk.
Oliver clicked his tongue and walked by his side. "How cold and cruel you are, brother."
"I wasn’t the one who caged and stole someone’s identity." Aimar replied coldly.
Oliver stuck out his tongue like a child. "Ehe, te. That was just a silly mistake."
Aimar gave him a look of disgust, like he was seeing a pile of dung.
Oliver also felt awkward as he cleared his throat. "Ahem, how have you been, brother?"
"...Fine." He replied simply. "Just a step short from becoming an Eternal."
Oliver wasn’t sure if he was bragging or being sarcastic.
"It will be much easier to become one if you understand yourself." Oliver spoke softly. "The residue of guilt, regret, and sadness will always be a hurdle in your path to Eternal."
Aimar didn’t say anything. He put the dress in his bracelet and walked out of the bazaar.
The bazaar was situated at the end of the city; beyond it was a jungle with a stone path to walk.
The twin brothers walked down the road without a single word for a while.
The years of separation had created a sense of distrust between the brothers who were once close.
"I think I am losing myself." Aimar finally opened up. "The constant nightmares of a life not mine are making me mad."
"The life of Horus." Oliver guessed as he was going through something similar.
Aimar continued in a self-deprecating manner like it was something funny.
"The more I try to fight it, the more I feel like it’s overtaking me."
Aimar had seen the time when Horus’s father was killed by God Set. He had seen how Mother Isis lost her mind after her husband’s death.

He had seen the cruelty of Amun-Ra and his way of ruling the world and how Horus was walking in his steps.
It had reached the point where he felt like a filter had been placed over his brain, influencing his daily life.
"It’s better if you embrace that life of yours." Oliver suggested in a deep voice. "Take their experience as lessons and become greater than them."
Aimar paused in his tracks before he looked at Oliver blankly.
"....If you do that, you will lose yourself." Aimar said firmly. "You will become an entirely different person."
Oliver smiled like he was well aware of the consequences.
"Accept yourself and be happy or refuse and die."
Aimar looked at him like it was the first time he had seen him.
He opened his mouth but no words came out.
’....He is so different than me.’ Aimar thought gloomily.
One was actively running away from his past while the other was accepting it.
Perhaps it’s because one was a tyrant in his past life and the other was a saint.
Aimar didn’t pursue him anymore and began to walk again.
"So..." he began. "Why call me here?"
Oliver turned serious as he said in a deep voice. "I found the sleeping body of the Angel Abaddon."
Aimar frowned. "What?"
Instead of replying, Oliver waved his hand like a magician and a book appeared in his hand.
It was the same book that was made from the flesh and blood of the mother of demons, Lilith.
The pages of the book began to turn as if they were endless before they stopped abruptly.
Oliver showed the page to Aimar, who envied the cool trick.
"In the Primordial Era, Abaddon was one of Azrael’s allies. He is the one who forged chains from his own body that were used to seal Satan in the depths of hell."
Oliver pointed at the pictures that were depicted on the page like it was a storybook.
Aimar found it odd, but he was too entangled in understanding his motive.
"It is said when Satan escaped in the Third Epoch, Abaddon helped Qaisel seal him back, but because of it he lost most of his power and has been sleeping till this day."
Aimar paused and looked at his brother’s face. "What are you thinking?"
Oliver looked at him with a soft smile. "I need his pure blood."
"Huh?" Aimar felt his mind melt. "You want what?"
Oliver didn’t repeat himself, instead he turned the page with his mind.
"You see, I need the pure blood of an angel to create a weapon."
On the page, it showed the image of Adam who got the pure blood of an angel and planned to create a weapon using it.

Aimar frowned at the revelation and asked deeply. "Why do you even need such a weapon?"
Oliver smiled and answered. "To kill an angel."
Aimar turned silent and looked at him blankly...
[≤I would still suggest you give up on this...≥]
Oliver heard Lilith’s voice in his head, which sounded extremely worried.
’I need a weapon such as this to keep myself on equal footing with those monsters.’
[≤Oliver... Adam lost his life because he tried to make this weapon.≥]
Oliver turned silent as the book in his hand vanished into thin air.
’I am not Adam.’
Aimar, who came back from his stupor, asked casually, "Why are you telling me this?"
"Because you are going to help me." He replied with a smile. "Aren’t you, my adorable—"
"I am not risking my life." Aimar cut him off. "And why don’t you ask Himmel for his blood?"
"Azariah isn’t a pure-blooded angel." Oliver shot down his idea. "All the pure ones are at demigod level."
Aimar pursed his lips but couldn’t say anything else. He just began to walk, albeit much faster.
"Don’t be like this, Aimar." He said, pouting. "I have no one except you."
"Ask Himmel."
"I don’t want to bother him."
"And you can bother me?"
"Yes."
Aimar looked at his brother speechlessly as he jogged to catch up with him.
Oliver said, smiling, "I will give you the date soon."
Aimar didn’t say anything else as he kept walking on the empty stone path.
Oliver, taking the silence as ’yes’, changed the topic.
"I have another favor to ask." Oliver said softly. "...I want you to keep mother safe once I kidnap her out of the Casita Household."
Aimar’s brows knitted together as he replied firmly. "I don’t want her to get hurt."
"Same." Oliver replied softly. "But I also don’t want Edel to use her as leverage against me."

Aimar slowed down his steps and looked at his brother. "...What are you planning to do?"
Oliver smiled sweetly and said, "Edel has lived a long life." He looked up at the emerging stars. "It’s time for him to lie down in a coffin."
Aimar didn’t say anything else and just gave a short nod.
He was hesitant about their mother but eventually nodded. "Inform me before bringing her."
Oliver smiled and placed his hands behind his back. "I will."
Both of the brothers walked silently for a long while, putting rest to all their chaotic thoughts.
Aimar paused once again, making Oliver give him a confused look.
"What happened?" He asked.
Aimar drew in a deep breath and said, "There is someone alive who should be dead by now."
Oliver turned fully with a serious look on his face. "Aimar—"
"You will not interfere, neither will Himmel." Aimar said, keeping his voice steady.
"I will be the one to kill Ethan."
