Looking in the direction of the first few undead in the distance, Scaly wasn’t exactly impressed upon seeing their low levels. If not for the fact that there were hundreds of thousands of these weak undead before her, she would have thought she had gone in the wrong direction and ended up encountering a weak undead army even below the quality of the one she and Verdell had taken care of not long ago.
However, with the sheer number of these undead and skeletons present before her, it didn’t take her long to realize that these weak undead shouldn’t be the main force but instead cannon fodder that would serve as a distraction against powerful monsters- or maybe even used to directly overwhelm stronger monsters with numbers alone. After all, with the number of undead before her, even she wouldn’t stand a chance winning against them and would run out of both mana and stamina before she even killed of a tenth of the cannon fodder legion.
Truly embodying the saying of numbers overcoming quality, as with the number of weak undead and skeletons before her, even a powerful SS Rank Monster or Adventurer wouldn’t stand a chance and would be overwhelmed without any chance to fight back.
The only one within the dungeon she could think of that might have the strength to deal with such a despairing number of undead and skeletons was the dweller of the deep mist, the terrifying mist serpent that lurked within the sea of mist on this floor of the dungeon.
After all, that monster wasn’t just massive, but also had strength exceeding that of the SS Rank. Having reached level 218. A level that made those adventurers and monsters she had run into so far within the swirling sands dungeon seem pathetically weak by comparison.
But at the same time, remembering that mist serpent, she also began wondering if it was going to show up for the battle against the necromancers from the Eternal Life Sanctum. After all, even if it had managed to break free from the control of the dungeon core to some extent because of its overwhelming strength, it should still lend a hand in case the dungeon core was about to get seized.
Reason being, once the dungeon core was gone, the dungeon it presided over would begin a slow collapse according to what she had learnt from the quiet mutterings of Verdell during the journey through the frozen desert, as the dwarf hadn’t exactly hidden his own internal thoughts regarding the state of the dungeon and she had nothing to do while flying through the sky but listen to his quiet mussing from time to time .
Even if the mist serpent, the dweller of the deep mist, didn’t care about the dungeon core itself, it would care about its home, the sea of mist it lived inside, disappearing.
According to the mumblings of the dwarf on her back, the mist serpent might be the trump card of the dungeon core and would be pulled out at an opportune moment to catch the necromancers of the Eternal Life Sanctum off guard or the dungeon core itself wasn’t as weak as it appeared and was merely drawing in the necromancers and their undead armies to finish them off in one fell swoop.
No matter what it was, the mumblings of Verdell had made her somewhat hesitant when it came to joining the chaotic battle between the necromancers of the Eternal Life Sanctum and the monsters under the dungeon core. Wondering if it would be best for her to wait until the dungeon core revealed its hand to avoid getting caught up in whatever the dungeon core was planning. Not forgetting that there was also a chance that the necromancer behind the attack had his or her own trump cards hidden and ready to respond when the dungeon core began what in some sense could be considered a final struggle.
Whoosh~
In the end, her thoughts being somewhat chaotic, Scaly continued forward and soon enough found herself flying above the army of cannon fodder gathered around the edge of the battlefield. Not feeling that interested in killing off these weaker undead and skeletons after she had realized just how little experience, she was starting to get from these weaker undead and skeletons.
Flying over these weaker undead and skeletons, she also took the opportunity to look down and soon enough figured out why these cannon fodder like undead and skeletons weren’t at the main battlefield and were instead lingering around the edge of the battlefield.
Finding out that they weren’t just standing around but were in fact moving towards the main battlefield, it just looked like they were standing still around the edge from afar because the outer edge was truly stationary being tasked with guarding the perimeter of the battlefield itself to stop any monsters that might attempt to force their way to the main battlefield in an attempt to aid the dungeon core.

[Human, Necromancer (Acolyte)...]
Not just that, but looking down from above, she saw a large number of weaker necromancers hard at work producing more of these weaker undead and skeletons. All of them belonging to a rank of necromancers that was clearly far below that of even the bone carver necromancer Verdell had ended up killing when they had initially attacked the ten thousand strong undead army.
The supplies for these new undead and skeletons being transported from the main battlefield itself all the way to the back where these weaker necromancers belonging to all sorts of different races were hard at work with none of them daring to relax for even a second as they worked to the point where they looked like they could collapse at any second-
Thud~
No... That wasn’t accurate, one of them just collapsed before her eyes and was soon enough dragged off to be used as material himself.
To ensure this kind of working conditions, it was clear that someone powerful should be in charge to ensure that these weaker necromancers didn’t slack off...

And looking around at the movement of the undead and skeletons below her, it didn’t take her long to spot the person in charge, a rather obese looking human that didn’t seem to be bothered about his surroundings as he was busy devouring what looked like a mountain of delicious looking grilled monster meat.
Grumble~
The sight of this mountain of delicacy caused Scaly, who had originally been planning on remaining out of sight before getting to the main battlefield where she could assess the situation to pause, her gaze focused entirely on that mountain of delicacies below her. Finding it difficult to look elsewhere as her stomach had already started moving against her after she caught sight of those delicacies below.
"Hm? Is something wrong?" Sitting on her back, Verdell, who had his gaze focused on the main battlefield that had already started to become visible in the distance, shifted his attention away upon sensing the dragon below him coming to a sudden abrupt stop.
"That... Really..." And with his eyesight having improved significantly after becoming a dragon flame mage, it didn’t take him long to figure out why Scaly had come to a sudden stop, as he couldn’t stop himself from rolling his eyes in annoyance. Knowing that there was a very real chance that the dragon below him would throw aside their current hidden status and fully reveal them for those delicacies below.
"We don’t need to risk being exposed for a few pieces of grilled meat... How about this, I will personally create double what you see below after everything is over- and what I make is far better than the low-quality grilled monster meat below that barely use any spice beyond the most common ones." In an attempt to stop her from doing something stupid, he directly pulled out a trump card in the form of offering his own service in creating something far better in the future.
Whoosh~
In the end, this proved to be successful, as after struggling for a bit, Scaly continued forward. Only looking reluctantly towards the grilled monster meat once before she focused on the matter at hand. Understanding from her previous experience tasting the grilled monster meat of Verdell, that he was indeed good at making delicious monster meat.
Not to mention, the smell of the monster meat below was indeed nowhere near comparable to the monster meat Verdell had given her in the past.
Even if it was only a promise for the future, Scaly felt it was worth it and didn’t doubt Verdell would go back on his words...
