Chapter 141: 2.18 Lord X (3)
Hades persona and demeanor quickly changed with his wife’s arrival. The hysterical lunatic was now calm and collected.
"Eris, would you like to sleep while we replace your eyes or would you like to stay awake?"
"I’m sorry I doubted you Master Hades. It’s lovely to see you Persephone, it’s been too long. Would you recommend I sleep or stay awake?" Eris’ asked confidently, reassuring herself this was her best option.
"I slept for my procedure. These eyes take quite some time to adjust to. I still haven’t unlocked their full power," the masked god said.
"I didn’t ask you. I’m asking our Queen." Eris scoffed.
"It will be a strange sensation, but if you’re able to stay calm while we perform the transplant, it would be beneficial for you to not sleep. By staying awake, your conscious brain will immediately respond and begin adjusting to their power. Sleeping delays this process." Persephone said with a smile.
"Master Hades, please ensure I will not feel pain. I will remain calm if pain-free." Eris boasted.
Hades laughed. "The real Eris has finally returned to us! I will ensure you do not feel any pain. If you feel paranoia, speak up. We can’t risk this transplant going sideways and I can always put you to sleep."
"Just get this over with." Eris demanded.

X returned to his giant console and began scanning the universes for a potential planet to assign Azael’s group to destroy and absorb lifeforces from.
"No sense looking at Nova, that’s the universe they’re from." X muttered to himself. "That leaves Eclipse, Astar and Gemini... let’s take a look."
As he started researching, Hades and Persephone prepared to transplant Eris’ new eyes.
"Ready when you are my love," Perse said to Hades.
"Alright Eris, remember, stay calm. Don’t freak out when you can’t see."
"Understood." she said confidently.
Hades cast thin black and gold magic threads from his fingers and carefully encapsulated Eris’ right eye. He slowly pulled it out while Persephone used her black and white magical threads to grab the right eye from the rectangular box, floating it towards Eris’ face.
"I’m going to use my other hand to separate the eye from the optic nerve. You’ll have about 30 seconds to attach the new eye." Hades explained as he used his left hand to cut the eye free from the optic nerve.
Persephone used her magic to properly place the black eyeball on the optic nerve and Hades took control of the eye, attaching it neatly to the optic nerve while slowly pushing it back into the socket.
"You’re doing great, Eris. One more and you’ll be all set. I’m removing the wires from your right eye. Close it right away. I’ll wire it shut if you open it before I tell you so don’t you fucking dare."
"I won’t." Eris said calmly.
’This is so fucking weird. I can sense the extraordinary power of the eye but I can’t feel anything so I wonder how badly this will hurt once he lifts his spell.’ she thought, focusing on her breathing.
Hades removed the magic wires and Eris immediately shut her right eye.
Persephone placed Eris’ original eye in a container of sanitary solution, then into a separate case of the white gooey substance.
They repeated the process with the left eye and informed her to keep it shut until they told her to open them. They sanitized and stored her left eye in the case with her right.
The masked god finally located a planet in the Eclipsian realm full of Humanoid Rhinoceros creatures that emitted stronger energy than any of the regular races in the Nova realm, with the exception of Exteria and Nexus.
"Now how do we get to you?" He pondered, turning to see Hades and Perse cleaning the blood off Eris’ face, especially around the eyes. When they finished, they put a magically infused wet, cooling rag over her eyes to reduce the swelling.
"Well, when can I open them?" Eris asked, excitement brimming in her voice.
"When the swelling goes down. We’re working on it. Your left eye didn’t want to leave your optic nerve, so there’s a little bit of bruising. Once I remove my numbing magic, you’re probably going to hurt like hell.
"Hades, I’ll be fine. Why don’t you start releasing it slowly so I don’t go from completely numb to full of pain?"
"I’m going to have to call your group the duos of jackasses and Eris if you keep using your big brain. You need to learn to channel your anger and not be so overly fucking emotional all the time."
X returned to the table and informed Hades of the planet he discovered. Hades excused himself from the ladies and walked over to the console area to take a look. He noticed the notes X already left at the bottom of the screen.
"This planet’s lifeforce is very strong and they’re constantly at war. There are four tribes. From what I’ve watched, they aren’t the most intelligent creatures either. They seem to charge in without much thought or strategy and destroy each other." the masked god explained. "Here’s the crazy thing though, they know how to absorb each other’s power. I’ve never seen someone other than the gods perform this feat."
Hades couldn’t believe his eyes. "How the fuck? Well, better get rid of them before they start sharing their secrets with other planets. I have to find a way for us to get there without Athena catching us slipping out."
"Does it really matter if she knows? I’m sure the Lockhearts are watching their every move anyway."
"Fair point. Well, I’ll start working on creating a gate between the Universes." Hades said as he returned to the table.
"Well Eris, how do you feel?" Persephone asked.
"Bored, sore and nervous. How much longer?"
Hades removed the towel from her face and told her to open her eyes.
Eris opened her eyes and immediately blinked several times. Everything appeared crisp, vivid and clear. She couldn’t control them so she continued to blink to stop them from zooming in and out.
"How do I stop them? How the hell do I work these things?! I thought my goddess eyes worked well but these are something entirely different!" She exclaimed as she started to panic.
"Calm down Eris, you’re experiencing sensory overload. Focus on one particular thing and try to clear your mind." Perse said as calmly and clearly she could.
Eris inhaled and exhaled deeply several times with her eyes closed before she opened them and focused on the screen showing her titan camp.
"They don’t look happy, well, the ones visiting with their families do but they looked pissed off. What else can these eyes do? I need to return to them to help on their next planet wipe."
"You will not be returning to them yet." Hades said sternly.
"Who the hell could be that important?" Eris complained.
"Mastering your eyes and recruiting. You’re headed to Limbo!"
"Please tell my you’re fucking kidding. At least give me a hint or two on how to utilize my new powers?"
"Sure. Anyone who says no, use your eyes to erase their memory of the encounter. In order to get there, use your eyes to find Limbo. Rather than opening a portal, they will allow you to teleport there. The key is..."
Eris listened as Hades explained how to use her new eyes.
She was pissed. The last place she wanted to go was to Limbo.
