’Wait.... Where did the space portal take me to?’ Hutton thought right after he came out from the other side of the portal with Bu Ling.
Where they are right now is a barren land that has no bounds. After being momentarily surprised by where he finds himself in, Bu Ling eventually calmed down and began to observe the surroundings.
"Do you have any clue of where we are Mr. Bu Ling?" Hutton asked after not getting anything from the surroundings. When Bu Ling heard his question, he shook his head as he answered.
"No. Try checking your phone to see where we are right now"
"Well I can’t do that since I kind of left my phone back in China" Hutton replied with a wry smile on his face which stunned Bu Ling for a moment.
"Well then we don’t have any other choice but to move around to see where exactly we are" Bu Ling eventually said with helpless smile on his face as he took a step forward.
But As Bu Ling took a determined step forward on the barren land, the ground trembled beneath his feet. Hutton, standing nearby, watched in confusion as cracks spider-webbed across the ground, leading to a sudden eruption of dust and debris. Before either of them could react, a deafening explosion rocked the landscape, sending shockwaves rippling through the air. Bu Ling and Hutton were thrown backward, their ears ringing from the force of the blast. As the dust settled, they struggled to their feet, bewildered by the sudden chaos that had unfolded around them.
"What just happened?" Bu Ling eventually asked with blank look on his face. But he didn’t get an answer as Hutton was just blankly looking at the dust that is in the air.
"Do not make any more movements, we are coming to pick you up!!" But just then, they heard a voice from a fair distance away from them from behind which drove the two of them to look behind them.
What they saw was a green colored battle helicopter coming towards them in full speed. When Hutton saw this helicopter, a thought suddenly popped into his mind which made him have a look of disbelief on his face.
"Do you know who is coming towards us?" Bu Ling quickly asked when he took notice of Hutton’s change of expression.
"Oh no, but I now know where we are" Hutton answered with look of disbelief still on his face.
"And where are we?" Bu Ling asked with a curious look now on his face.
"I think we are in the mining fields of Area 51"
"What?" Bu Ling instantly muttered with a blank look on his face when he heard what Hutton said.
But right at this time, the helicopter have arrived right above them as a ladder came down from the helicopter.
"Use the ladder to climb up" right after the ladder came down, Hutton and Bu Ling saw a soldier poke his head out and said. This soldier has a black low cut hair and a deep black eyes on his stern looking face which shows that he has gone through numerous battles in life.
"Well we don’t have any other choice to escape this place other than them so let’s just follow their orders" Hutton said with a helpless smile on his face as he began to climb the ladder.
"It seems like you are right" Bu Ling said after observing the barren land one more time before he also began to climb the ladder.
But as soon as Bu Ling got on the helicopter, he was immediately rendered stunned speechless. Bu Ling felt an oppressive weight pressing down upon him, stifling his breath and freezing his thoughts.
Five soldiers sat in silence around him, their faces obscured by shadow, their presence looming like silent sentinels of authority. The air inside the helicopter was thick with tension, each beat of the rotor blades echoing like a thunderous drum in Bu Ling’s ears.
"Take your seats" The soldier who earlier told him and Hutton to climb the ladder spoke up again as he pointed at the two remaining empty seats in the helicopter.
Without saying a word, Bu Ling and Hutton took there seats. Right after taking there seats, the soldier immediately spoke up again.
"We can now move"
"Roger"
And so, the helicopter began to take the same route it used to come to that spot to go back.
While they were in helicopter, Bu Ling quickly stole a glance at the soldiers. But when saw the stoic expressions on their faces, it quickly sent shivers down his spine, their eyes reflecting a resolve forged in the crucible of combat.
Bu Ling found himself rendered speechless by the palpable intensity that hung in the air, suffocating any attempt at conversation. In the suffocating silence, Bu Ling’s mind raced with questions, but the weight of the atmosphere stifled his voice, leaving him stunned and awestruck by the gravity of the situation.
"How are you still calm when we are in this situation?" Bu Ling suddenly asked Hutton in a very low whisper with a surprised look on his face. Apparently, while Bu Ling was feeling intense by the atmosphere in the helicopter, Hutton was caught yawning with a relaxed look on his face.
Even the soldiers in the helicopter was momentarily stunned when they saw Hutton yawning.
"Oh sorry, it’s just I really don’t know how to feel tense in a situation like this since my dad have taken me in this kind of rides many times when I was a kid" Hutton quickly lied after noticing the soldiers were becoming suspicious of him.
"Oh, lucky you" Bu Ling said with a helpless smile on his face, but the soldiers still gave him a deep look for some moments before they shifted their gaze away from him.
’It seems like I need to be careful of my behavior here If I don’t want unnecessary trouble to fall on me’ Hutton thought with a straight look on his face.
After a few more minutes went by, Hutton could finally see various buildings through the window at the distance.
The buildings in Area 51 rise like monolithic structures from the desert floor, their sleek, angular designs contrasting sharply against the barren landscape. Encircled by high fences topped with razor wire, they exude an aura of secrecy and isolation. Many of the buildings appear nondescript from a distance, their exteriors devoid of windows or any discernible features, adding to the mystique surrounding the facility.
As one ventures closer, the true scale and purpose of the buildings become apparent. Some are massive hangars capable of housing advanced aircraft, their metallic surfaces gleaming in the harsh desert sun. Others are low-slung bunkers, their reinforced walls hinting at the sensitive materials or technologies contained within. Guard towers dot the perimeter, manned by vigilant security personnel who keep a watchful eye on the surrounding terrain.
Despite their utilitarian appearance, the buildings of Area 51 possess an undeniable air of intrigue, their secretive nature fueling endless speculation and conspiracy theories. They stand as silent sentinels, guarding their secrets with unwavering resolve against the backdrop of the vast Nevada desert.
After landing in one of the hangers in Area 51, the soldiers in the helicopter suddenly stood up and surrounded both Bu Ling and Hutton.
"Hey! What is the meaning of this!!?" Bu Ling said out loud with an angry look on his face. But the soldier who has been talking throughout the journey in the barren land still have a calm and stern look on his face as he said.
"You don’t have to worry civilian, we won’t do you any harm if you don’t do anything funny. We just want to take you and your friend to meet our general"
"But–"
"Please lead the way sir" before Bu Ling could say anything, Hutton suddenly interrupted with a calm look on his face.
"Thank you for your corporation" The soldier said while he looked at Hutton for a while before he turned and said out loud.
"Let’s move out!"
And so, Hutton and Bu Ling began to move with the soldiers out of the helicopter and through the hangers.
"What the hell Hutton?" Not enjoying the view, Bu Ling immediately asked Hutton in a low voice while having a displeased look on his face.
"You don’t have to worry Mr. Bu Ling, I will take care of everything from here on out" Hutton answered with a calm look on his face as he began to observe his surroundings.
Inside the hangar of Area 51, a surreal atmosphere engulfs the vast space, shrouded in an eerie half-light that filters through high windows, casting long shadows across the polished concrete floor. The air is cool and still, carrying with it a faint scent of industrial machinery and the metallic tang of ozone.
Along the walls, rows of heavy-duty equipment and mysterious apparatuses stand silent and imposing, their surfaces gleaming under the dim illumination. Strange symbols and intricate diagrams adorn the walls, hinting at the complex nature of the experiments conducted within these walls.
In the center of the hangar, a massive platform dominates the space, surrounded by a network of cables and conduits that snake across the floor like serpents. Overhead, gantry cranes loom like silent sentinels, their mechanical arms poised to move with precision at a moment’s notice.
Despite the hushed whispers and clandestine activities that undoubtedly take place within these walls, there is an undeniable sense of purpose and order to the chaos. Every component, every machine, every piece of equipment serves a vital role in the enigmatic workings of Area 51, shrouded in secrecy and hidden from prying eyes.
’So this is the infamous Area 51’ Hutton thought with an impressed look on his face.
