Chapter 112: New changes in the mind world
The night had passed, and it was now morning as the sun slowly climbed up the clear blue sky.
Adrian was in the same clearing where he had always trained, sitting beneath the shade of a tree. But even after so much time, his mind was still on the third piece of information Alisardarc had delivered.
’Immutable... they were talking about Immutable, huh...’
That was not outright abnormal, but it seemed strange the more he thought about it. Immutable was an Origin ability that was recorded in the compendium, with what it could do clearly stated. And it was rather ordinary power that made him immune to mental changes, be it internal or external.
There was no reason for someone to take an interest in it so much that they would mention it several times throughout a conversation. He could say this fact confidently because he was now completely aware of the other Origin abilities that existed since he had memorized the compendium.
Compared to them, Immutable was a rather ordinary Origin ability.
On top of that, Immutable was strange. The mindscape, the ’teleportations’—they were all things that had no explanation for their cause.
’Moreover...’
Adrian slowly closed his eyes.
In the next second, he experienced a sinking feeling, as though he were falling into an emptiness shrouded in dark mist.
Moments later, he opened his eyes. But now, he was not sitting under the tree. Instead, he was sitting in a PC cafe. The computer in front of him was still turned on, just as he had left it.
’I wonder if I can play games on this. Oh, there’s no internet, so I can’t download anything.’

Just like how there was a change in the mindscape after the second ’teleportation’—which removed the dark fog and made the map larger, as well as gave him this analog wristwatch that allowed him to control the time difference between the mindscape and reality—there was another change in the mindscape following the third ’teleportation’ that he experienced yesterday.
Just like the previous change, the map of this mindscape seemed to have become bigger. Before, the map of the miniature version of the mindscape that he could vaguely see had resembled the map of his country.
But now, the map seemed to resemble the shape of the continent in which his country existed.
’One more teleportation and the map might just encompass the entire world map of Earth.’
But there was a second, and far more significant, change.
Just as he had done moments ago, Adrian could now enter this mindscape at will. He didn’t need to fall asleep or become unconscious to enter here. Simply closing his eyes and focusing on the vague image of the mindscape was now enough for his consciousness to ’fall’ into this place.
’If I combine it with the power of the analog wristwatch, I can now simulate the experience of the ’teleportations.’ All I have to do is enter here and quickly increase the time discrepancy between the mindscape and the real world.’
He could see so many uses for this power. If he were in a desperate situation and needed time to think, he could use it.
After turning off the PC, Adrian looked out of the window of the PC cafe.
There was something he needed to investigate, but he had been putting it off for a while now.
’Maybe I should—’
But just as the thought came to him, a sudden drowsiness enveloped him. His eyelids turned so heavy that he was unable to keep them open for even a moment.
Sitting under the tree, Adrian opened his eyes, only to find Evangeline grabbing both his shoulders and shaking him hard.
"Hey! Adi! Why are you napping? It’s training time!"
Adrian stared at her, deadpan.
"I was not taking a nap; I just had my eyes closed."
’I should’ve changed the time discrepancy as soon as I entered the mindscape.’
Evangeline made a strange expression.

"Adi, couldn’t you have thought up a better excuse than that? Anyway, it’s training time, so train with me."
Saying that, she sat some distance from him. Adrian sighed and sat up straight, too.
As it had been every week for the past month, today was the day Adrian was supposed to spend his time training with Evangeline.
’Frankly, I don’t think I even have something to train now.’
He raised his hand and straightened it like a blade. Mana began gathering at this palm.
With a mental command from him, the mana perfectly and evenly coated his hand. It looked as though he were wearing a glowing, translucent blue glove. Its shape remained stable no matter how much time passed.
He then manipulated the mana and changed its shape, making it like a blade with sharp edges, with his hand as the hilt. Moments later, the double-edged blade turned into a hook, like the one Adrian had seen in pirate movies back on Earth.
After trying to mold the mana in several different shapes, he swung his hand down like a sword slash, releasing all of that mana in an arc. The mana blade shot forward, cutting through the air. It traveled several meters in distance before dissipating into the air as bluish wisps.
’I have mastered them both.’
He had mastered both the first and the second level of his infusion art. And he couldn’t try learning the third level because he wasn’t a Phase Three yet.
Every phase gives a unique boon aside from the increase in physical strength and mana capacity. On Phase One, also known as the Origin Phase, one gains the ability to awaken one’s Origin Ability. On Phase Two, which is called the Revelation Phase, one gains the ability to see the presence of living beings.
Similarly, there are unique boons at other phases too. Apparently, the boon one gains at Phase Three is called elemental infusion. It supposedly allows one to infuse their mana with the element they have affinity with.
This elemental infusion was vital for learning level three of the infusion arts. So in a way, Adrian had learned everything there was to learn at his current level. He had ’completed his syllabus.’
’Maybe I should try creating some space element spells until I reach Phase Three.’
Just then, Evangeline’s loud voice entered his ear, bringing him out of his thoughts.
"Hey, Adi! Look here!"
He turned to her, only to furrow his brow.
Standing straight, she was manipulating a large ball of water, making it hover right above her head. Judging by her strained expression, she seemed to be struggling. Meeting his gaze, she pleaded childishly.
"Adi, Adi, do what we did last time, quickly!"

Adrian stared at her, unamused.
"That again? Aren’t you even a little bit embarrassed for acting so childishly? You should’ve at least learned to behave properly after seeing Ravian."
Evangeline puffed up her cheeks and teasingly stuck her tongue out.
"Why would I be ashamed? If anything, Adi, you are the one who should be ashamed for acting like a grandpa while still being a kid. You should learn something from your younger brother. He is such a cute and sweet kid, and then there is you. Humph! Anyway, do it quickly; I’m reaching my limit here!"
Adrian sighed.
’Well, whatever.’
He raised two fingers and coated them in mana, then he swung them horizontally at the ball of water. A mana blade, much smaller than normal, shot forward at incredible speed, cutting through the ball of water and dividing it into two.
Losing the force holding it together, the ball of water splashed down on Evangeline, making her drenched.
With drops of water constantly dripping down from her hair and clothes, Evangeline raised both her arms in the air and cheered excitedly with a wide smile.
"Waah!!"
Watching her, Adrian let out a tired sigh.
’Ugh, why does she have to be so loud.’
