Chapter 464: Chapter 310: Vortex in the Sea, a Vision Reveals a Shocking Secret (Middle)

The old-guard Saint Realm masters of Japan had either been killed by Yi Beidou or forced to flee. In contrast, the new-guard Saint Realm masters survived their encounter with him. They each had their own epiphanies and saw their strength increase dramatically. Now, the old guard could no longer suppress the new.

The election of the new Emperor of Japan and its premier, along with a major purge of Japan’s high-level officials, was all secretly orchestrated by the New Martial Arts Club. Their goal was to use this opportunity to eradicate the old guard’s influence.

There were even rumors that they wanted to abolish the Emperor.

"Father, there’s an old saying in Donghua: a moment of impatience can ruin a grand plan. The Fukuda Family is in decline, and our Ancestor is presumed dead. Our only choice is to preserve our strength and wait for an opportunity to strike back."

A handsome young Japanese man said in a solemn voice.

"I’ve heard that above our late Ancestor, there was an even more ancient one. I don’t know if that Ancestor is still alive, but if he were to intervene, he could surely turn our situation around."

"It’s all that Yi Beidou’s fault. That damn demon deserves to die!"

Fukuda Moto said, gritting his teeth. But at the mention of the name, a look of uncontrollable fear still crept into his eyes.

They had received the latest intelligence about the incident in the Mediterranean Region.

That was a conflict between clandestine beings, many of whom were in all likelihood no weaker than their own Ancestor who had vanished without a trace.

And yet, on such a terrifying battlefield, Yi Beidou had still managed to gain the upper hand—and even emerge as the final victor.

Every time he thought about it, Fukuda Moto couldn’t help but shudder.

That man had killed the previous Patriarch as easily as slaughtering a chicken. If Yi Beidou truly wanted him dead, he wouldn’t stand a chance. He couldn’t escape, even if he fled to the ends of the earth.

’For the sake of my own skin, it’s best to lie low and be as discreet as possible for now.’

"Descendants of the Fukuda Family?"

Just then, a voice suddenly echoed through the empty room, making both men shudder and their scalps tingle.

They whipped their heads toward the source of the voice, only to find nothing there at all.

At this, cold sweat poured down Fukuda Moto’s back. He could barely breathe, and the hair on his body stood on end.

He knew that voice had been no illusion. He was a Saint Realm master, after all. Even if his power had been artificially elevated by a family Secret Technique, his senses wouldn’t deceive him.

The only reason they couldn’t see him was that his power was simply too immense. He could make his presence known without revealing his position, standing right before them yet remaining unseen.

In the presence of such a being, their lives were subject to his every whim.

"The descendants of the Fukuda Family are rather disappointing. No wonder the situation in Japan has become what it is today."

Just then, the voice spoke again. Before their very eyes, a figure began to materialize out of the Void, fading from transparency into solid form.

THUMP-THUMP! THUMP-THUMP!!

Fukuda Moto’s heart hammered in his chest. Looking at the man before him, he felt an uncontrollable urge to prostrate himself, as if in the presence of a supreme being.

A realization seemed to dawn on him. The fear in his heart instantly transformed into wild elation. He shot up from his seat and, with a thud, fell to his knees before the East King.

"Greetings, Ancestor!"

Fukuda Moto said with the utmost respect.

The young man beside him opened his mouth slightly, then quickly realized what was happening and knelt as well.

"You have some discernment, at least."

The East King nodded slightly. He slowly strode forward and sat in the head seat Fukuda Moto had just vacated. "Tell me," he said coolly, "what has been happening recently in Japan, and in the world."

"Ancestor, you’ve finally appeared! You must help us! The very sovereignty of Japan is about to be stolen by outsiders—"

Fukuda Moto’s face contorted in sorrow, as if he had just seen his savior.

But the next moment...

BOOM!!

A terrifying pressure crashed down like a mountain. It wasn’t an intangible force but a tangible weight, like a true mountain pressing down on him. Fukuda Moto was slammed from his kneeling position flat onto the ground. His head was pressed hard against the floor, his body crushed by the immense weight. His eyes bulged, instantly becoming bloodshot, as if they might burst at any moment.

A mighty Saint Realm master’s life was at the mercy of the East King’s whim.

"You will answer what I ask, and only what I ask. Understand?"

the East King said coolly.

Fukuda Moto wanted to nod but found it impossible to move. Only the corners of his mouth could twitch, as if begging for mercy.

The next moment, the pressure on him vanished. Fear filled Fukuda Moto’s eyes. Not daring to hide a single detail, he recounted everything to the East King: the recent changes in Japan, the secrets behind them, and the current situation in the Mediterranean Region.

He didn’t dare to conceal anything, nor did he dare to inject any of his own opinions.

After he finished, Fukuda Moto and the young man remained kneeling, their foreheads pressed firmly to the floor, not daring to look up.

After hearing the whole story, the East King tapped his fingers on the table, seemingly lost in thought.

The next moment, Fukuda Moto heard the tapping stop. At the same time, the oppressive feeling in the room was gone.

After waiting for a long moment, Fukuda Moto cautiously raised his eyes, only to see that the head seat was empty.

Only then did he dare to look around the room, but there was no longer any sign of the East King.

He couldn’t even be sure if what he had just witnessed was real or merely an illusion projected by some powerful will.

"Father, what was..."

The young man raised his head and asked cautiously.

He was a direct descendant of the Fukuda Family, a true aristocrat in Japan, yet in the presence of a figure like that, he felt more insignificant than an ant.

"Don’t ask any more questions, and don’t say a word about this to anyone outside. As long as he is alive, everything will be resolved. All that belongs to the Fukuda Family will be returned. All we need to do is wait."

"If our previous Ancestor was a God, then this one... he is the King of Gods."

Fukuda Moto seemed to be admonishing his son, but also muttering to himself.

「Half a day later, the sky had grown dim.」

In Donghua’s East Sea, a region of the ocean spanning a hundred-kilometer radius had been designated a restricted zone. At its center lay a mysterious area shrouded in clouds and mist. A Donghua Fleet was currently patrolling the waters just outside this misty region.

This, of course, was the location of the Penglai Immortal Mountain.

Exploration and research teams organized by Donghua had already established a base deep within the Immortal Mountain, conducting various studies. Everything was proceeding in an orderly fashion.

But today, an uninvited guest appeared over these waters.

The East King, still dressed in his vintage-style suit, exuded an unusual aura as he strode across the turbulent surface of the sea.

Waves churned and splashed, but the East King’s clothes remained perfectly dry and immaculate.

An invisible field seemed to surround him, preventing even a single drop of moisture from passing through its defense.

After receiving the information, the East King immediately understood. The faint presence he had sensed, the one that felt like it came from the Earth Immortal Realm, had to have originated in the Mediterranean Region.

He needed to get to his destination as quickly as possible, but first, he had to make some preparations.

After all, if this was truly related to the Earth Immortal Realm, he surely wouldn’t be the only Sleeper to have awakened.

Therefore, he needed to pay a visit to Penglai Immortal Mountain.

His Magic and the very source of his power were deeply connected to that Immortal Mountain.

As he walked across the sea, the East King’s brow suddenly twitched.

With his telescopic vision, he could already see steel fortresses appearing on the horizon.

’Donghua’s fleet? It seems the military strength of Donghua’s Mortal World is among the best on the planet. Very well. Since I’ve run into them, I might as well test the might of this era’s weaponry. After all, high-powered weapons are something I’ll need to be wary of during this operation.’

The East King muttered to himself as his figure flickered across the surface of the sea as if using Shrinking Inches, rapidly closing in on the patrolling fleet.
