Chapter 461: Chapter 309: Oceanic Vortex, a Vision Reveals a Startling Mystery (Part 1)

The Spiritual Talismans were changing again!

Their own attempts to break free were growing stronger. Soon, it would likely be impossible to suppress them, and they would all flee to the region with the highest concentration of Spiritual Talismans.

In other words, when the talismans could no longer be suppressed, whichever power held the most would automatically become the owner of them all, thus gaining control of the complete set!

The only reason the various powers were able to contend for the Spiritual Talismans in the first place was because the talismans themselves had a tendency to congregate. They actively released an unsuppressible aura revealing their location, making it impossible for any faction to hide and forcing them to deal with constant scrutiny.

However, once the Spiritual Talismans fully reassembled into a complete set, this tendency would vanish. Their location would no longer be detectable. The power that controlled the complete set could then disappear into hiding, slowly using the talismans to uncover all the secrets of the Mediterranean Region and claim them for themselves!

It was safe to say this sudden development would escalate the current situation even further!

Yi Beidou and his group weren’t the only ones; every power in possession of a Spiritual Talisman sensed the change.

「Gibraltar.」

Inside the God-Sealing Alliance’s meeting room.

The five leaders wore grave expressions. Three Spiritual Talismans floated in their midst, trembling and struggling ceaselessly, held in check only by the terrifying aura the five of them exuded.

"The Spiritual Talismans are changing again. We could become a target for everyone."

The young man from Asia said grimly.

Of all the powers, the God-Sealing Alliance currently held one of the largest shares of the Spiritual Talismans. It was easy to imagine that in the struggle to come, whichever power held the most would become the primary target for all the others.

The other factions might even form temporary alliances to target the God-Sealing Alliance, just as Secret Technique Heaven and Abyss Court had done.

"That’s not even the most critical part. The way things are going, we can probably suppress the talismans’ changes for another ten days, maybe half a month. But no one knows if they’ll change again during that time. This means the struggle for the Spiritual Talismans has to be decided in short order. No one will dare to delay any longer. The next battle might very well be the final showdown."

"Do you think the other Secret Organizations might be able to contact and summon the Sleepers on such short notice?"

the gentlemanly old man asked, his expression grave.

"It’s very likely. There’s a high probability that Sleepers will appear in the next battle. We have to be ready."

The beautiful woman said with a nod.

Meanwhile, the other Secret Organizations were also in discussion, spurred by the talismans’ strange behavior.

"Should we try to contact the ones in slumber now?"

"We still can’t be sure of the value of these secret ruins. Waking them rashly might provoke their anger."

"But if we don’t try to wake them, we’ll be at a disadvantage in this struggle. If this secret truly is related to the Myths..."

"..."

However, just as the various factions were in the middle of their discussions, the Spiritual Talismans suddenly trembled violently once more. This time, it wasn’t their own struggles that had intensified. Instead, everyone sensed that the talismans’ strange behavior had provoked some unknown existence.

「Somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea.」

"Watch the rough seas! Watch the rough seas! All hands to your stations! Prepare for any sudden developments!"

In the control room of a cargo ship, a blond, middle-aged captain yelled into the intercom.

"Damn it, where did this weather come from? There wasn’t any warning, not a single forecast! Do those bastards at the weather bureau eat shit for a living?!"

The ship’s Big-bearded First Mate was a hot-tempered man, and spit flew from his mouth as he ranted.

Outside, the once-clear sky had instantly turned to night. It was pitch-black. A gale swept across the surface of the water, its whistling shriek like the wail of a sea siren.

The entire ship pitched and rolled violently.

"Alright, you know what those guys are like. When push comes to shove, we have to rely on ourselves."

"No telling how long this god-awful weather will last. We need to make for the nearest port as quickly as possible."

Despite the sudden, terrible weather, the experienced captain remained calm, methodically piloting the cargo ship.

"Oh my God, what in the world is that?!"

Just then, however, the Big-bearded First Mate beside him seemed to freeze, his eyes fixed on the Sky ahead.

The captain, who was at the controls, also sensed something was wrong. He looked up, and he too froze on the spot.

Before them, amidst the black clouds and above a sea as dark as night, a radiant light suddenly appeared. Within that light, an almost lifelike scene materialized, flickering in and out of view like a mirage.

The scene was a fantastical panorama.

Everyone saw towering, ancient trees dozens of meters high and of unimaginable thickness. Vague shapes of enormous beasts moved through the forest. In the sky, a great, unknown species of golden bird soared past. Judging by the scale of its surroundings, its wingspan must have been more than ten meters.

The light around the mirage shimmered with rainbow colors. Against the backdrop of black clouds, it appeared sacred and serene, exuding an intoxicating aura that filled onlookers with yearning, as if it were the legendary Eden—the pure land humanity has always sought.

The people on the ship felt as if they were witnessing a scene from Primordial Mythology. These were creatures that had seemingly never appeared in recorded history, existing only within the pages of unverified mythological scriptures.

How could a mirage possibly appear in such bizarre weather?! And what corner of the world was this mirage even reflecting?!
