Chapter 453: Chapter 305: Three Flowers Gather Atop the Head, Deities Eat Qi and Do Not Die (Part 1)
Suddenly, a brilliant golden light tore through the dark clouds in the sky, casting itself down upon the ground.
And the vision that appeared within that golden light sent a chill down the spines of all the soldiers of France.
Feathers drifted down, one after another, as visions carrying religious symbolism and prophetic meaning descended from the heavens.
Angels, holy light, the Holy Grail...
"Damn it! Has the Gate of Heaven been opened?!"
"The Celestial Kingdom, Eden... do they really exist?"
"This is a Divine War! Those beings... they’re the agents of Deities!"
"..."
For the Western World, a scene like this had the shocking force of a spiritual atom bomb.
Many soldiers had already lowered their weapons, praying to the holy light descending from the sky.
「Within the battlefield of the quarantine zone.」
"Hmph. The Gate of Heaven? If this were the Judicial Court in its heyday, we might have been a bit wary of you opening it. But ever since the Day of Saint’s Fall, with the old and new factions split, how much power do you really have left?"
An Ancient One said coldly.
On the battlefield, bathed in the descending holy light, the bodies of the Judicial Court’s Ancient Ones began to take on a crystalline, jade-like texture. Halos of light appeared behind their heads. Radiance spilled from their backs, faintly forming pairs of unfurled wings. Their auras grew increasingly vast and holy.
At a glance, it was as if Angels had descended upon the mortal realm.
Gate of Heaven.
This was a collective Divine Power. By sensing and summoning a vast, unseen magnetic field to descend upon the world, they could form a unique Realm and dramatically increase their individual combat strength.
What these Ancient Ones summoned was precisely the immense magnetic field formed from all the faith and consciousness related to Heaven that had accumulated in the mortal world since ancient times.
The Judicial Court was originally the supreme body of the Church Court. These reincarnated Ancient Ones were once considered saint-like figures within the Church Court, revered by countless people. They held the highest authority and even had dedicated places for their reincarnation.
At the height of its power, it could be called the most powerful Secret Organization in the world. In fact, it couldn’t even be called a Secret Organization, as it once operated openly.
That is, until the Day of Saint’s Fall arrived.
Dissatisfied with the long-term rule and oppression of the Saints, factions within the Church Court seized an opportunity. While several Saints were simultaneously undergoing reincarnation—their new bodies not yet mature—these factions colluded with certain outside forces and launched a rebellion.
In that war, several Saints fell completely. Ecclesiastical authority returned to the mortal sphere, and the Judicial Court broke away from the Church Court entirely, truly receding into the shadows, maintaining only a complex web of connections with its former parent body.
After this incident, the other major Secret Organizations also grew more wary of becoming too deeply entangled with the Mortal World. The Secret Organizations all went dormant, marking a turning point when Extraordinary Power completely withdrew from the Mortal World.
It was from that point on that the Judicial Court’s power plummeted, ranking it merely in the middle tier of the Seven Great Secret Organizations. The return of ecclesiastical authority to the mortal sphere also caused a sharp decline in the Heavenly Power they could command.
Otherwise, back in the Judicial Court’s heyday, if they opened the Gate of Heaven and all the Ancient Ones entered the Angel Ascension state, all the other Secret Organizations would have likely had to yield.
"Is that so? We old folks haven’t exactly been idle all these years. It’s rare for so many of us to be gathered like this. I suppose it’s time to show you the power of the Judicial Court in its prime."
The tall man in the lead said with a smile.
He had sharp features, blond hair, and blue eyes. His face was exceptionally handsome. Bathed in a radiant glow, he perfectly embodied humanity’s idealized image of a humanoid Angel.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
As he spoke, the light in the sky flared incandescently, and the aura became even more terrifying.
The wings of light materializing behind the members of the Judicial Court grew once more.
The wings behind the man in the lead reached a total of twelve.
A Twelve-winged Archangel!!
At this moment, the man’s radiance was so brilliant it was impossible to look at him directly.
"You found a way to bypass the Church Court’s authority?!"
The faces of the Ancient Ones from the surrounding factions showed their shock.
The twelve-winged form is the highest Angel state empowered by Heavenly Power. Since losing its ecclesiastical authority in the mortal world, the Judicial Court should have long been unable to summon this kind of power.
There was only one possibility: they had found a way to bypass that authority.
"Anything is possible in this world," the man said with a smile.
In the next moment, however, the incandescent Heavenly light in the sky suddenly dimmed.
Half of the sky, at some unknown point, had been enveloped by a deep, profound darkness.
It was vast, boundless, immeasurable, and unrestrainable.
Within the depths of this gloom, faint stars could be glimpsed.
Suddenly, a burst of multicolored radiance exploded in the darkness, filled with the infinite mysteries and beauty of cosmic space.
Mysterious Starry Sky.
But the appearance of this nebula was only the beginning. More and more nebulas burst forth, and the profound darkness spread rapidly.
Even the Heavenly light was being suppressed.
Heaven was but a fantasy confined to Earth, while the nebulas were the power of the infinite cosmos.
Before them, so-called Deities, and even entire civilizations, seemed utterly insignificant.
"Who’s there?!"
The expressions of the crowd changed drastically as they whirled to face the direction the aura was coming from.
Several figures appeared atop a skyscraper. The one in the lead was the most conspicuous; even the powerhouse from the Judicial Court, with his twelve wings of light, was not as dazzling.
This person wore a crown, and their face could not be seen, for their entire being radiated light from within. Their form looked like a conglomeration of the starry sky itself, exuding an indescribable presence.
