Chapter 8: Yenissa for Rescue
Yenissa gritted her teeth as she watched the fire-cloaked woman rise again, muttering a strange chant under her breath. The flickering flames around her pulsed wildly, licking at the air like living entities and she could see the tree behind the woman had already been incinerated into ashes.
"Oh, shut up already!" Yenissa snarled with an annoyed look.
Shennong looked at Yenissa and the fire woman while clutching his burn marks in pain and muttered, "Yenissa, don't touch that woman with your bare hands. Use something to attack her."
Yenissa looked at Shennong and gave a slight nod. Realizing that this fight would not end until one of them was either killed or disabled, she quickly decided to fight.
Instead of waiting for whatever spell the woman was casting, she grabbed one of the large rocks scattered across the scorched battlefield and charged. The fire-woman barely had time to react before Yenissa slammed the rock into her skull, sending her staggering backward with an sickening crunch.
But even after such a powerful blow, the woman didn't fall. Yenissa's breath hitched.
This fight isn't over...
Yenissa noticed the woman assuming a strange posture while chanting something unusual, and she immediately sensed the danger of it.
She barely had time to react before fire exploded around her legs out of nowhere, burning through her bare legs and searing her skin. She gasped but held firm. She couldn't afford to collapse now.
On the side, Shennong watched the scene unfold with narrowed eyes. His fingers twitched as he pushed himself up with his sword, ignoring the pain surging through his body. His gaze flickered to Rilith and Velara, both crumpled on the ground, breathing heavily.
He winced.
He knew why Yenissa was still standing while the others were barely holding onto their lives against this force of nature. She was a True Succubus. Unlike Rilith and Velara, who were still newborns, Yenissa was on a completely different level. The difference in power was like night and day.
Normally, True Succubi were selfish, arrogant creatures that enslaved lower-level succubi. That was the way of their kind. Yet, Yenissa was different.
She wasn't fighting for power. She wasn't fighting for dominance. She was fighting because she wanted to. Because she chose to. At least that's what Shennong knew about her, as he didn't have full knowledge about her past.
And Shennong found that... intriguing.
Yenissa pressed forward, ignoring the pain in her burned legs as she launched herself at the fire-woman. The woman shrieked, flinging fireballs at her like a rabid beast, but Yenissa dodged, weaving through the onslaught with a predator's grace.
She held the same stone she had struck the fire woman with, now heated to the maximum—almost to the point of melting. However, she knew that fighting this hazard with bare hands and legs was out of the question.
She lunged, striking hard.
The fire-woman staggered. Her flames sputtered, flickered—then dimmed without any reason. It was almost random that Yenissa was caught off guard by what happened.
A moment later, the woman collapsed, the fire vanishing entirely. In her place was a girl with short silver hair, strands of it covering her closed eyes. She hit the ground with a soft thud.
Yenissa's chest heaved. Finally. She wanted to deal the final blow, but more than that she wanted to see how Shennong was doing. She didn't have time to savor the victory because she didn't consider it a victory.
Shennong was already struggling to his feet, gripping his sword as he surveyed the area. Yenissa hurried over, her body feeling like it had been through the worst kind of hell.
"We need to leave," Shennong said, his voice tight. "The men affected by the succubus fumes are starting to regain their senses."
Yenissa cursed under her breath.
Shennong clenched his jaw, his hands twitching at his sides. He wanted to gather the weapons and supplies left behind, but he knew it would be a waste of time. The last thing they needed was to be caught unprepared.
Rilith and Velara stumbled to their feet, looking battered but alive.
"We should go," Rilith muttered, her voice weak.
Velara nodded, brushing soot off her tattered clothes.
But Shennong wasn't looking at them. His eyes were fixed on the unconscious silver-haired woman lying on the ground.
Yenissa followed his gaze and scowled. "What are you doing?"
Shennong didn't respond right away. He took a slow step forward. "I want to take her with us."
Yenissa's eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you insane?"
He didn't answer. He simply nodded, his expression unreadable. "I have a feeling she's going to be an interesting one."
Yenissa stared at him like he'd lost his mind. "That's your reason? You feel like it? That woman just tried to burn us alive!"
"I need her, I need everything here" Shennong said simply, as if his previous self was overtaken by something.
Yenissa's expression darkened. She wasn't the type to just trust people. But something in his tone made her pause. She felt rather uneasy looking at Shennong.
Shennong turned to Rilith and Velara. "Take whatever you can from the ones who won't be waking up. Their swords, their bags—whatever's useful."
Rilith hesitated. "But you said not to. We need to leave before they wake up."
"Just do it. Quickly." Shennong muttered already collecting the weapons of the humans. He was salivating looking at all the materials he could get.
Yenissa exhaled sharply, glancing back at the unconscious woman. She still didn't like this. She didn't want to take this risk.
But Shennong's eyes told her he wasn't changing his mind.
"Fine," she muttered. "But if she tries anything, I'll kill her myself."
Shennong gave a small, knowing smile. "We might need to kill her anyway. I just need to see what that power is. I don't really care about her."

And with that, they made their way out of the battlefield, the silver-haired woman slung over Yenissa's shoulder, completely unaware of the new path her life was about to take.

Shennong sat on the cold wooden stool, feeling the stinging pain of his burns as Yenissa worked on treating his wounds. Her touch was firm but not gentle, as if she was punishing him in silence. Her expression was a mixture of anger and sorrow, her lips pressed together tightly, and her golden eyes burning with restrained fury.
Shennong swallowed hard, guilt creeping in as the adrenaline from the fight and something else that made him salivate when he looked at all the armours and weapons wore off.
He had known Yenissa ever since his birth, and while she had scolded him many times before, this time felt different. She wasn't just mad—she was seriously upset. And worse, Rilith and Velara had already disappeared, slipping away the moment they realized staying near Yenissa in this mood would be a terrible mistake.
Yenissa had few wounds that looked just as bad as Shennong's but she didn't allow him to even stand up before she properly treat his wounds first.
Meanwhile Shennong's gaze flickered toward the unconscious woman lying on the floor. Middle height, short silver hair covering part of her face, completely out cold. He didn't even understand what made him bring her with him. Was it his weird desire to collect anything that he feel like rare? He knew that might be the case.
Yenissa finally broke the silence. "What were you doing in the forest, Shennong?" Her voice was low and tight, barely masking her frustration. "And who is this woman?"
Shennong hesitated, knowing there was no easy way to say it. He wasn't the type to lie—if anything, he was too straightforward for his own good, especially with Yenissa.
"I wanted the belongings of those humans," he admitted. "So I trapped them. Everything went well... except I didn't expect this woman."
Both of them looked at the unconscious woman again.
Yenissa sighed heavily, rubbing her temples. "If you needed something, you should have told me. I could have gotten it for you."
Shennong clenched his jaw before reaching up and grabbing Yenissa's face, making her look at him. His grip wasn't rough, but it was firm enough to make his point.
"I'm not a little boy," he told her seriously. "Don't treat me like one and you're acting all tough one me but let me ask-."
Yenissa's eyes widened slightly feeling Shennong's firm grip, her cheeks suddenly burning with a deep red hue. His touch was strong, his eyes dark and piercing. Her succubus instincts flared without warning, and she immediately tore her gaze away from him.
"Why are you holding back? I know you're not eating as succubus should eat normally. Aren't you starving? Who ask you to sacrifice your life and your pleasure for me?"
"Shennong, don't—" She avoided his eyes, her voice shaky.
But Shennong wasn't going to let her look away. He tilted her face back toward him, his grip gentler this time but still insistent. "Look at me. Yenissa, you know I am not your ordinary kid. I know you raised me to feed yourself so do that. Fill yourself. Let me be selfish because I don't want you to go hunting for men. Feed only on me. I will be your infinite food soruce."
Yenissa's breath hitched. Panic flashed in her golden eyes. "Don't," she warned. "Don't do that. Please take your hand and let me treat you."
Shennong frowned, confused. "What—are you still.."
He was about to put some sense into Yenissa, but then he felt it.
A strange sensation spread through his body, a tingling heat pooling lower. His breath hitched as he felt something shift—no, something tear. His eyes snapped downward, and his expression twisted in horror.
His pants. His pants were tearing apart as his penis was trying to come out of it's slumber state.
"What the hell?!" he shouted, jumping back slightly.
Yenissa slapped her hands over her face, groaning in absolute mortification. "I told you not to make me look at you like that!"
Shennong stared at her, then back down at himself, his mind racing. "What kind of succubus ability is this?! You're telling me just looking at me did this?"
Yenissa peeked through her fingers, her face still red. "I—it's not my fault! It only happens when I'm... hungry. And you—" She cut herself off and exhaled sharply. "You were too close, and you were looking at me like that! Now I am hungry."
Shennong groaned, running a hand through his hair. "Ugh~ This hurts!"
"No! I need to calm down!" Yenissa huffed. "I can't do this to you when you're injured."
Shennong gave her a long, deadpan stare before looking down at his ruined pants and his penis which was starting to twitch. "Yenissa, please have your fill. I don't want you starving and please do what you were supposed to do."
