Chapter 353: Chapter353-Interwoven Factions
Holy Spirit Sovereign then turned his gaze toward Aldric and Edmund.
The two of them were also among the rare prodigies of Skyvault Consortium, so they naturally received special attention from him.
Both immediately rose to answer.
Aldric spoke first.
"Holy Spirit Sovereign, I did not obtain any opportunities within the Heroic Spirit Corridor."
"However, I finally came to understand what it truly means to stand at a higher level."
"After the Heroic Spirit Corridor opened, I personally witnessed several powerhouses repeatedly activating the Buyout function."
"Ten consecutive supreme treasures were all purchased outright."
"That completely exceeded the limits of my understanding."
"Before today, I never imagined such a thing could happen."
"In the end, my perspective was simply too narrow."
"I had never considered how true powerhouses might use the resources at their disposal."
"Throughout the myriad universes, there are as many people stronger than me as there are stars in the Starsea."
"I always believed that if I could not accomplish something, then no one else could either."
"But the truth is that not only can they accomplish those things—"
"They can effortlessly achieve feats I cannot even imagine."
"All this time, I have merely been a frog at the bottom of a well, blinded by my own arrogance."
"If I am given another opportunity to broaden my horizons and break through the limits of my understanding, I will never let it pass me by again."
Aldric had gained a great deal of insight.
The shock he had experienced inside the Heroic Spirit Corridor had been overwhelming.
His entire worldview had practically been shattered and rebuilt from the ground up.
Such a transformation would have been impossible anywhere else.
Only a place like the Heroic Spirit Corridor, where the greatest talents from throughout the myriad universes gathered, could produce such an experience.
Holy Spirit Sovereign listened quietly.
A faint smile gradually appeared on his face.
"It appears you have already obtained the greatest opportunity available within the Heroic Spirit Corridor."
"You have finally recognized the extraordinary vastness of this world."
"Your future path toward greater strength will undoubtedly be smoother than before."
Edmund, who stood beside Aldric, then spoke.
"Holy Spirit Sovereign, my gains were largely the same as theirs, so there is little more for me to add."
"Very well."
Holy Spirit Sovereign nodded slightly.
Then his gaze suddenly shifted toward John and his companions, who had remained silent among the crowd.
"John."
"Tell me. What did the four of you gain from the Heroic Spirit Corridor?"
Buzz!
The moment Holy Spirit Sovereign finished speaking, countless strands of Divine Sense converged upon John’s group.
The gathered High Gods were deeply curious.
John and his companions had barely possessed any presence within Skyvault Consortium.
Until now, they had been regarded as nothing more than reasonably talented newcomers.
Many High Gods wondered inwardly,
"Who exactly is this John?"
"Why would Holy Spirit Sovereign suddenly question him personally?"
Their confusion was understandable.
Aldric and Edmund had both been accepted as personal disciples by Sovereign-rank powerhouses.
Kaine was even the disciple of a deputy guild leader.
All three possessed the potential to become Sovereign-rank powerhouses in the future.
It was only natural for Holy Spirit Sovereign to pay greater attention to them.
But where had John come from?
Most participants remembered him only as a somewhat capable newcomer.
In terms of presence and seniority, he was inferior to many veteran members gathered here.
He did not have a Sovereign-rank powerhouse guiding him as a teacher.
He did not even possess a Sovereign-rank blood relative.
Even if his performance among the newcomers had been respectable, so what?
Most of them did not even know his ranking within the trial stages.
Someone who behaved so discreetly should have been almost invisible to the crowd.
Why, then, had Holy Spirit Sovereign taken notice of him?
Why had he personally asked about John’s gains?
Could John secretly share some unknown relationship with Holy Spirit Sovereign?
While everyone was speculating, John responded without the slightest trace of panic.
His tone remained calm.
"Holy Spirit Sovereign, my greatest gain from the Heroic Spirit Corridor and the trial spaces was the opportunity to meet many different powerhouses from throughout the myriad universes."
"Without exception, they are monstrous prodigies from the greatest factions."
"Each of them dominates their own universe and suppresses every enemy of their generation."
"Defeating such opponents will not be easy for me."
"If I am fortunate enough to encounter them during the official tournament, I will use everything I possess to defeat them."
"I will never allow Skyvault Consortium’s reputation to suffer in my hands."
John simply delivered a series of impressive-sounding remarks.
After hearing them, Holy Spirit Sovereign smiled.
"John is correct."
"All of you should learn from his attitude."
"Only then can you continue growing stronger."
"Furthermore, if any of you achieve a high ranking in this Myriad Worlds Tournament, your entire life will be rewritten."
"This tournament contains a tremendous opportunity that may determine whether you can eventually break through to the Sovereign rank."
"In the past, some powerhouses suddenly advanced to the Peak Sovereign realm when the Apocalypse Tribulation descended."
"The reason was simple."
"They had previously secured outstanding rankings in the Myriad Worlds Tournament."
"As a result, they obtained special treasures that allowed them to transcend the tribulation—or even become immune to its impact."
Kaine and the others’ eyes immediately lit up.
Their greatest fear was not that they would fail to reach the Sovereign rank.
It was that the approaching Apocalypse Tribulation would destroy them before they ever had the opportunity.
The Apocalypse Tribulation was terrifying beyond imagination.
As time passed, the vitality and blood essence of every living being would gradually reverse and drain away.
Once lost, they could never be restored.
When the Apocalypse Tribulation ultimately evolved into its final catastrophic form, all living creatures would die beneath the erosion of time.
There would not even be a chance for resurrection.
Powerhouses like them, who had yet to reach the Sovereign rank, were no different from ants before the Apocalypse Tribulation.
Without a sufficiently powerful means of protection, what right did they have to believe they could survive it?
Therefore, the Myriad Worlds Tournament represented their only path to survival.
It was their sole opportunity.
As long as they obtained a sufficiently high ranking, they might eventually advance to the Sovereign rank—
Or perhaps even step into the Peak Sovereign realm.
Once they reached that level, even the Apocalypse Tribulation would no longer be enough to erase them.
Not even the destruction of the universe itself could easily bring about their deaths.
Holy Spirit Sovereign gave the crowd several more instructions before dismissing them to cultivate on their own.
The official stage of the Myriad Worlds Tournament was about to begin.
For now, recovering to their peak condition was the most important task of all.
