Chapter 342: Chapter342-Primordial Chaos Light
Within the star region of Skyvault Consortium—
John and his companions, who had always kept an exceptionally low profile, gathered inside a palace.
As soon as the trial ended, John had sent messages to Holly, Odelle, and Silt.
None of the three delayed. They quickly returned to the Crimson Origin Palace to meet him.
The moment she arrived, Holly turned sharply toward John, her eyes shining with anticipation.
"Guild Leader, tell us the truth. Were you the person who crushed every other participant and remained at the top of the rankings?"
In truth, Holly had already formed her own suspicions.
Even so, she could not resist asking John to confirm them personally.
Almost the instant she finished speaking, Odelle and Silt also turned toward John, their faces filled with expectation.
As far as they were concerned, the only person capable of dominating the entire trial so thoroughly was probably their Guild Leader.
Under the expectant gazes of the three women, John nodded slightly.
"That’s right. I was the one in first place."
"Ah!"
"That’s wonderful! I knew the Guild Leader was the strongest!"
Holly immediately cheered.
All three women looked at John with intense admiration.
They had never expected that the mysterious first-place participant truly was their Guild Leader.
John waved a hand, signaling for them to calm down, before asking,
"Tell me about your results. What rankings did you achieve in the trial?"
"Hehe, Guild Leader, I really have something to be proud of this time."
Holly raised her chin, revealing her slender, fair neck like a proud little swan.
"I happened to rank directly behind you."
Silt gave a faint smile.
"What a coincidence. I ranked third."
Odelle finally joined the conversation.
"It was more than mere coincidence. This outcome should have been expected."
"I ranked fourth."
"The four of us from Valhalla completely swept the top four positions on the trial rankings."
"We simply have too few members. Otherwise, Valhalla could certainly replace—no, surpass—any of the supreme factions in existence today!"
John chuckled.
He thought inwardly,
"This is all thanks to the three of them possessing talents that stand out even among the entire player population."
"Otherwise, bringing all three into the Myriad Worlds Tournament would have placed considerable pressure on me."
"Fortunately, I have continued cultivating during this period. Otherwise, one of them might have caught up with me already."
If he, the leader, were instead surpassed and suppressed by his subordinates, even John would probably begin to feel anxious.
When all was said and done, John was merely an ordinary person who had reached his current height step by step, rarely relying on outside assistance.
The four of them then exchanged their insights from the trial.
The various abilities displayed by the puppets had broadened their horizons considerably.
After the discussion ended, John dismissed the three women and allowed them to rest and make their own preparations.
John then began examining the special item he had received as the first-place reward.
It took the form of an unusual scroll.
It appeared as thin as a cicada’s wing, almost as though nothing had been written upon it.
With a thought, John chose to use it.
A notification confirming that the ability had been successfully learned immediately rang beside his ears.
At last, he could view the panel of this special skill.
...
[Primordial Chaos Light]
[Quality]: Origin Divine Grade
[Type]: Special Skill
[Effects]:
Origin Empowerment: Upon activation, releases a burst of divine radiance that may be applied to any target it strikes.
An empowered target will instantly recover to peak condition. All injuries, deficiencies, and losses will be completely restored.
When used on an enemy target, the divine radiance will instead erase every enhancement-type buff currently affecting them.
Divine Prohibition: Releases a burst of divine radiance that envelops hostile targets within its range.
Within the area covered by the divine light, all divine arts and formation abilities possessed by enemy targets will become completely ineffective.
The divine light lasts for 120 seconds.
During the period of prohibition, all cleansing abilities and dispelling methods will fail against the divine radiance.
[Remarks]: A special divine art created by an existence of an exceptionally high life level through research into the primordial origin of chaos.
When used to empower allies, it manifests as pure white holy light.
When used against enemies, it manifests as crimson starlight.
When it encounters another Primordial Chaos Light originating from the same source, the two may be superimposed.
After superimposition, their effects will be greatly multiplied!
...
Golden light flashed through John’s eyes after he finished reading.
"This Primordial Chaos Light is unbelievably powerful."
John was filled with amazement.
This was already the second Primordial Chaos Light he had obtained.
Unlike the previous one, however, this Primordial Chaos Light possessed an additional superimposition effect.
After reading its information, John suddenly thought of the Golden Eye of Rebirth he had acquired not long ago.
The Golden Eye of Rebirth could likewise unleash a layer of golden divine radiance.
Almost all matter would disintegrate beneath that light, making it extremely effective at weakening every aspect of an enemy’s strength.
It was just as practical as the Primordial Chaos Light.
John wondered whether some connection existed between the two abilities.
After putting away the Primordial Chaos Light, he suddenly heard a series of thunderous sounds coming from outside the palace.
"All participants are to assemble in the square immediately."
It was Holy Spirit Sovereign’s transmission.
The moment John heard it, his figure flashed and disappeared from the palace.
He was also among the first to arrive at the square where Holy Spirit Sovereign was waiting.
After John arrived, large numbers of people began gathering one after another.
They were all participants sent by Skyvault Consortium.
However, many of them had only been forcibly granted entry through the faction’s arrangements, unlike John, who had qualified entirely through his own strength.
Forest Sovereign allowed his gaze to linger on John for a moment before speaking.
"Today’s event was merely the Warm-Up Arena for demigod-grade powerhouses."
"It was nothing more than an extremely simple preliminary trial. I hope none of you will allow its results to affect your state of mind."
"If nothing unexpected occurs, the true dungeon will open tomorrow."
"The dungeon is called..."
"The Heroic Spirit Corridor!"
The crowd immediately erupted into discussion.
"The Heroic Spirit Corridor? Why does that name sound so ordinary?"
"Do not underestimate it. Every stage associated with the Myriad Worlds Tournament is extraordinarily difficult."
"The Heroic Spirit Corridor is certainly nowhere near as ordinary as its name suggests."
"The Heroic Spirit Corridor?"
John’s heart stirred when he heard the name.
It happened to resemble the name of his own guild, Valhalla.
He wondered whether some connection existed between the two.
If there was, it might provide John and the three women with an enormous advantage.
Hopefully, the coincidence truly meant something...
As John silently speculated, Holy Spirit Sovereign continued his explanation.
