Chapter 7: Chapter 7: I Will Compensate at Full Price

After Riley requested VIP access from the manager, she invited Cecilia Sterling and Lily Sterling into the VIP lounge.

The sales associate from before, Katia, saw them actually go into the VIP lounge and couldn’t sit still. She looked up and saw the manager carrying drinks, preparing to serve them personally, and quickly ran over.

She reached out, making a show of wanting to help the manager.

The manager stepped slightly to the side, looking at her with displeasure. "What are you doing? Those are Riley’s clients in there."

"Manager, they were originally my customers," Katia said anxiously.

The manager had also worked her way up from a sales associate, and her years of experience immediately told her something was wrong.

She narrowed her eyes and asked, "Then why is Riley the one serving them?"

"I..." Katia faltered, clearly unable to bring herself to admit what she had done.

The manager sighed, looking exasperated. "You’ve been working here for two or three years, and you can still make this kind of rookie mistake? Weren’t you told during training that there are many wealthy but low-key customers and that you must never judge people by their appearance? Have you forgotten all of that?"

"No, Manager, it’s because she..."

’The customer herself said it was too expensive. I only acted that way after I heard her say it...’

’Otherwise, I wouldn’t have done that.’

"Don’t even think about this sale. Stay far away. The customers have a strong desire to buy right now, so don’t you go and ruin the mood."

The manager shot her a glare, then pushed open the door to the VIP lounge with the drinks and went inside.

Katia stomped her foot, her face full of resentment. The commission that had been within her grasp was gone just like that. ’I’m such an idiot!’

Inside the VIP lounge, there were drinks and fruit. The manager even asked if they needed her to prepare some cakes or afternoon tea.

This was because VIP clients usually took a long time to select their jewelry.

Cecilia Sterling just replied calmly, "No, thank you. We’re in a hurry."

A moment later, Riley approached with an exquisite tray. She crouched beside Lily Sterling and then knelt on one knee. She could tell that the younger sister was the main focus today, so she looked at Lily and began professionally introducing the jewelry on the tray.

The half-kneeling service made Lily Sterling feel a bit awkward, but the beautiful jewelry on the tray immediately captured her attention.

Cecilia Sterling noticed it too. The designs of the high-end luxury pieces were clearly more intricate and extravagant, with larger, more brilliant diamonds.

However, the overly lavish necklaces and rings seemed a bit impractical for daily wear. Lily Sterling was just a college freshman and wouldn’t have many opportunities to wear them.

But one bracelet, in particular, caught Cecilia Sterling’s eye. Its design was unique and simple, yet incredibly gorgeous. It was inlaid with a total of five diamonds and embellished with various colored gemstones, making it extremely eye-catching and beautiful.

"What about this one?" Cecilia Sterling reached out, picked it up, and asked Lily.

Lily Sterling’s eyes sparkled as she nodded. "It’s beautiful."

Seeing this, Riley quickly added, "This bracelet is a new design for this year, a global limited edition of two thousand pieces. Each of the main diamonds is 1.86 carats, and they are all superior-grade natural South African diamonds. The gemstones are also all-natural."

Cecilia put it on her sister to see how it looked, then tried it on herself. The effect was excellent on both of them.

"We’ll take two of these."

Cecilia said, smiling at her sister. "A matching set for us sisters. One for each."

Lily Sterling nodded happily.

Riley exchanged an excited glance with the manager. A single one of these bracelets sold for 98.8888 Dollars—that was almost a hundred Dollars!

In the end, Cecilia Sterling spent over 200 Dollars in the store. She secretly calculated it in her head: over 200 Dollars here was equivalent to over 2 million in her past life.

Spending that amount from her current WhatsApp balance was practically nothing to her.

The manager and Riley enthusiastically escorted them to the entrance. Cecilia Sterling stopped and looked back, her eyes immediately finding the first sales associate.

Katia felt Cecilia Sterling’s gaze and instinctively avoided eye contact, looking flustered and awkward.

But Cecilia just smiled faintly. She didn’t go out of her way to make things difficult for the sales associate. ’With my current wealth, there’s no need to stoop to arguing with a sales associate.’

’Besides, for salespeople, the commission is what matters most. The commission that should have been hers was just earned by someone else. I imagine she won’t be feeling too happy about that anytime soon.’

’That’s enough.’

Afterward, Cecilia took her sister to buy clothes, shoes, and bags. Seeing the Cartier shopping bags in their hands, the sales associates in other stores greeted them with immense enthusiasm, not daring to be neglectful in the slightest.

Of course, Cecilia did not disappoint these associates. Their enthusiastic service was rewarded with generous commissions. In the end, the two of them could no longer carry all their purchases and found a restaurant to sit down in.

"Are you happy?"

Cecilia asked, looking at her sister.

Lily Sterling had a serene smile on her face as she nodded, touched. "I’m so happy. Thank you, Sis."

Cecilia smiled too. She took out her phone, hesitated for a moment, then transferred ten Dollars to her sister. "From now on, if you want something, just buy it. If it’s not enough, just tell me."

Seeing the WhatsApp notification for a ten-Dollar transfer, Lily was so shocked she didn’t dare accept it at first.

"Sis, this is too much! Twenty cents a month is enough for me," Lily said.

"It’s not much. Go on, accept it. I’ll give you a monthly allowance from now on, so you don’t have to take any from Mom."

Lily Sterling hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

The restaurant specialized in French cuisine, and it was the first time for both of them. Cecilia Sterling ordered many of her sister’s favorite seafood dishes, along with a bottle of red wine.

The exquisitely plated dishes were brought out one by one, their appearance alone enough to whet one’s appetite.

Lily Sterling picked up her knife and fork, about to eat the escargots au gratin covered in cream and cheese, but her knife handle accidentally knocked against the wine glass next to her.

CRASH.

"AHH—"

The crisp sound of the glass shattering on the floor was accompanied by a piercing scream that suddenly echoed through the restaurant.

A woman who happened to be walking past their table turned with a furious expression and snapped at Lily, "What’s wrong with you? Don’t you have eyes?!"

"I’m sorry, Miss! I didn’t do it on purpose!"

The man with glasses accompanying the woman was about to lash out, but his eyes lit up the moment he saw Lily. Then he saw Cecilia, who had stood up, and a flash of awe crossed his face.

"Oh, it’s nothing. Just the tip of the shoe got a little wet." The man with glasses had intended to make a scene on his companion’s behalf, but after seeing how beautiful the two sisters were, he instinctively acted like a gentleman.

The woman turned to glare at him angrily. "What do you mean, it’s nothing? These are new shoes! They cost almost two Dollars, and today is the first time I’ve worn them! This material can’t get wet, and it definitely can’t be stained. These shoes are ruined!"

When the man heard "almost two Dollars," he knew it must have been charged to his card, and he couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret.

The woman turned back to Lily and snapped, "What good is an apology? Tell me, what are you going to do about it?"

Cecilia Sterling glanced at the woman’s white high heels. The toe was indeed soaked and stained with red wine. Since her sister had caused it by accident, they were in the wrong.

So, even though the woman’s reaction was a bit extreme, Cecilia remained polite. "Please don’t be angry. We’ll compensate you for the shoes. If you can show me the order for them, or even just the price on the official website, I will pay you back in full."
