Chapter 145: Chapter 136: Struck It Rich (Part 2)

After carrying out the last piece of blood-red Crystal Stone, which was over two meters tall, Jingjing finally collapsed on the ground, too exhausted to get up.

"Get back to work." Tang Mo poked Jingjing’s little face, which had gotten a bit chubby under her care.

"Waaaah, I’ve already moved all the red stones."

Jingjing felt wronged. ’I’m just Tang Mo’s free labor!’

’She only makes me work and won’t give me any meat to eat!’

’I have to protest! I’m going on strike!’

Just as Jingjing got up, ready to argue with Tang Mo, its nose suddenly caught an incredibly fragrant scent.

"It’s a chicken leg!"

Jingjing’s mouth was already watering. Forgetting all about its protest, it grabbed the chicken leg and started gnawing on it.

Besides Crystal Cores, Jingjing’s favorite thing was chicken legs.

It had absorbed too much energy today and couldn’t take in any more from Crystal Stones or Crystal Cores. Right now, only a chicken leg could give it the greatest comfort.

Tang Mo’s knack for catering to its preferences was truly something.

"Rest for a bit. After you eat, get back to work, okay?" Tang Mo gently patted Jingjing’s head.

Jingjing paused. Suddenly, the chicken leg in its mouth didn’t taste so good anymore...

This was destined to be an extraordinary night.

According to Jingjing, the red Crystal Stones were the least numerous, followed by the blue ones, with the White Crystal Stones being the most abundant.

Jingjing had cut all the red Crystal Stones into large, two-meter-high blocks and moved them out. Tang Mo did a rough calculation; there were about ten-odd cubic meters of them.

After its break, Jingjing’s tragic fate resumed as it went back down to start moving the blue Crystal Stones.

There were even more of the blue Crystal Stones. This time, Jingjing barely managed to finish moving them all by the time the sun came up.

Of course, there were simply too many Crystal Stones down below. Even though it had basically been cleared out, there were still many scattered fragments left behind.

But Tang Mo wasn’t that greedy; there was no need to take every last scrap.

The blue Crystal Stones were piled up into three small mountains. Tang Mo, very satisfied, collected these three small mountains into her Space.

This time, Jingjing’s break was even longer. It was so sleepy it could barely keep its eyes open.

But there was nothing to be done. With a master like Tang Mo, after eating two more chicken legs, it could only resign itself to its fate and get back to work.

There were far too many White Crystal Stones. Jingjing had only moved about half a small mountain’s worth when Tang Mo urgently called it out. She stored the White Crystal Stones in her Space, then grabbed Jingjing and ducked into the small sand dune where the two sand town people were.

..............................

"Jingjing, can you get those Crystal Stones out?"

Ever since Jingjing finished describing those mineral-like stones, Tang Mo had her eyes on these Crystal Stones.

’Since I’m already here and I’ve seen these things, it would be unreasonable not to take some with me.’

"Mmm, I’ll try."

Jingjing had a small knife and a little pouch, given to it previously to help Tang Mo collect Crystal Cores from the bodies of mutant beasts.

"I can do it! It’s very hard, but Jingjing is strong!"

Jingjing held a freshly cut piece of Crystal Stone, its voice full of excitement.

In truth, the Crystal Stones growing here were unusually sturdy. If Jingjing hadn’t just gone through that enhancement, it really might not have been able to cut the Crystal Stone so easily.

"That’s great. Cut off some more and bring it out for me to see." There was a hint of delight in Tang Mo’s voice as well.

Because of the sudden surprise of the Crystal Stones, she could no longer leave the two guards unattended.

Tang Mo crept quietly toward the sand dune. By now, the two people from Sand Town were already leaning against each other, dozing off.

She took a baseball bat out of her Space and brought it down on each of their heads.

The space inside the dune wasn’t large, but Tang Mo still bent down and tied their hands and feet with cloth strips, blindfolding them as well.

Tang Mo had measured her strength perfectly, using just enough force to knock them unconscious without killing them.

After doing all this, Tang Mo nodded in satisfaction, then walked to the edge of the quicksand, waiting for Jingjing to come out.

Tang Mo made it sound easy, but she herself had forgotten that Jingjing had to use every ounce of its strength just to get down there. It had no idea how to get back up.

On Jingjing’s end, cutting the Crystal Stones was easy enough. It stuffed its little pouch full, shoved some more into its fur, and grabbed another piece in one of its small paws. Only then did it run to the bottom of the hole it had fallen through to figure out a way up.

But as soon as it stood under the opening, that mysterious suction force appeared again. A moment later, Jingjing popped up right in front of Tang Mo.
