Shen Nian remembered a line she’d once heard in a movie.
"My beloved is a peerless hero. One day, he’ll descend from the heavens in golden armor, riding a seven-colored cloud, to come and marry me."
Back then, Shen Nian had scoffed at the line. ’How could someone like that ever appear in my life!’

True, Lu Cheng wasn’t wearing golden armor, nor was he riding a seven-colored cloud. He certainly hadn’t descended from the heavens.
But, in this very moment, Lu Cheng was the peerless hero of her heart!
If it weren’t for the human trafficker holding her captive, Shen Nian would have thrown herself into Lu Cheng’s arms the moment she heard him say, "You dare harm a single hair on her."
In contrast to Shen Nian, who was gazing at Lu Cheng with ardent, love-filled eyes, the men Lu Cheng had brought with him were all completely stunned when they heard him shout those words.
They were so shocked they momentarily forgot the gravity of the situation, every single one of them turning to stare at Lu Cheng in disbelief.
Some of them had just heard Shen Nian cry out Lu Cheng’s name and were inwardly marveling, ’What a coincidence, this girl knows our group leader!’
But Lu Cheng’s reaction quickly had them exclaiming to themselves, ’Holy shit, this girl’s relationship with our group leader is definitely something special!’
When had they ever seen their group leader get so emotional! When had they ever seen Lu Cheng care so much about a woman!

After all, their group leader was known around the company as Yama Lu! And he wasn’t just cold and ruthless toward his enemies; he was equally merciless with any woman who tried to get close to him!
Forget his current tense expression; Lu Cheng had never so much as given a woman a second glance before!
But that was beside the point. Right now, all they could think was that their group leader, having just roared that line, was unbelievably badass!
They figured that all the women who had crushes on their group leader would probably be willing to get kidnapped, if it meant they could hear Lu Cheng say something like that for them!

It wasn’t just Lu Cheng’s team members who were dazed by his words. Even some of the police officers standing nearby were momentarily stunned.
They hadn’t paid much attention to the "security personnel" who had come to assist, but Lu Cheng’s display of skill had instantly earned their respect.

The trafficker was sharp enough, once he calmed down, to realize that the woman he had kidnapped must have an extraordinary relationship with the man who had just appeared.
This was actually a good thing. The more the other party cared about this woman, the greater his chances of escape.
’Looks like ditching that little boy for this woman was the right move after all!’
Lu Cheng’s fists were clenched, his eyes glaring furiously ahead. In all his missions, he had encountered every kind of person imaginable. No matter how vicious the criminal, he had always been confident he could take them down.
But now, the person in the trafficker’s grasp was the one he cared for most in the world! He would not allow Shen Nian to be harmed in front of him.
Therefore, he couldn’t take any risks. He had to wait for the perfect moment to strike, and it had to be a single, decisive blow. That was the only way to ensure Shen Nian’s safety.
