Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Move Again and I’ll Strangle Him
"Okay, thank you, Director."
After getting the Director’s approval, Lu Cheng turned around.
"Notify the team. Head to the train station immediately."
"Yes, sir!"
With Lu Cheng in command, the operation’s momentum instantly surged.
"The train arrives in five minutes. All units, attention! Secure every exit."
"Yes, sir!"
Lu Cheng’s side had already contacted the C City Public Security Bureau and the train police. They were just waiting for the signal from the onboard officers to move in.
Shen Nian had no idea that Lu Cheng was, at that very moment, just five minutes away. Her full attention was focused on the trafficker sitting across from her.
Not long after Shen Nian returned to her seat, the trafficker across from her came back as well.
Seeing him glance at his watch from time to time, Shen Nian knew he must be preparing to get off the train and move.

During those final five minutes, Shen Nian felt even more nervous than the trafficker across from her. When she heard the train’s arrival announcement, it felt as if she could hear her own heart pounding, THUMP-THUMP-THUMP.
As the train began to slow, the trafficker sitting opposite Shen Nian suddenly stood up and walked toward the front of the car.
Shen Nian hesitated for a moment, then immediately got up and followed him.
Sure enough, before she had gone far, Shen Nian saw the trafficker who had been sitting across from her meet up with another trafficker from the adjacent car. It was clear they planned to leave together.
Shen Nian didn’t leave. Instead, she stayed a short distance away from the two of them. ’I have to keep an eye on them.’
The train slowly came to a stop. The moment the doors opened, many passengers began to disembark, and the two traffickers blended in with the crowd.
"That’s them."
A voice suddenly rang out. Shen Nian looked toward the sound and saw it was one of the train’s police officers. It turned out that the onboard police had spread out through every car and found the individuals matching the descriptions Shen Nian had provided.
Shen Nian heard the alert in that voice, and the two traffickers naturally heard it too. They immediately tried to flee.
However, as soon as the officer spoke, several people rushed in from outside. Moving with incredible speed, they subdued one of the two traffickers and were advancing on the other.
The one they caught was the other trafficker. The one who had been sitting across from Shen Nian saw his partner get captured and immediately prepared to run.
But the men who rushed in were extremely fast. Even if he ran, he wouldn’t get far.
"You... you stay back! If you come any closer, I’ll kill him!"
The trafficker spun around to face the people coming to arrest him. One of his arms was clamped around the little boy he’d been carrying, while his other hand was wrapped tightly around the boy’s neck.
The men who had rushed in were a step too slow. They failed to subdue him before he could react and were now being threatened with the hostage he held.
They were furious, but seeing the little boy in his grasp, they didn’t dare make a rash move.
The little boy had been asleep. Perhaps because the noise was too loud, or perhaps because the trafficker’s grip on his neck was too tight, he suddenly woke up and began to wail.
"Don’t cry! Cry again, and I’ll choke you to death!"
As he spoke, the trafficker tightened his grip on the boy’s neck. The crying boy’s face began to change color from the discomfort, and his cries seemed to die in his throat.
"Don’t move! Any harder and you’ll kill him!"
The men facing the trafficker watched his actions and grew anxious. That little boy’s life was on the line, and of course, they couldn’t just stand by and watch a life be extinguished before their eyes.
These traffickers were absolutely despicable.
After something like this happened, the other passengers in the car had long since taken cover. Although they wanted to see what was happening, they clearly valued their lives more.
Hearing the shouts, the trafficker finally noticed the color of the boy’s face. He spat. ’Useless,’ he thought.
Then, he turned his head, saw Shen Nian standing not far away, and lunged toward her, yanking her in front of him.
He had casually tossed the little boy aside. The hand that was previously choking the boy was now wrapped around Shen Nian’s neck.
