Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Pointing at My Sister, What Are You Saying?
"That’s right! How could my sister’s report card not be here? Hurry up and look for it!"
Shen Xiangnan had always known how well his sister did in school. He had come today specifically to see her college entrance exam scores. So when the staff member said her report card was missing, of course he got anxious!
"I’ve already looked through all of them. There really isn’t one! However, for some students with extremely poor scores, a report card isn’t issued. Could it be that she..."
"Are you kidding me? My sister’s grades are excellent! You must have lost her report card! Give it back now!"
"Who lost it?! I’ve been here all day, how could I possibly lose it! Look, is it possible someone from your family already came by to pick it up and just hasn’t told you yet?"
The staff member’s words immediately set Shen Nian’s mind in motion. ’Things aren’t as organized now as they would be in the future, where you could just check your scores with a phone call or by refreshing a webpage.’
’If someone really did pick up her report card ahead of time, it’s not impossible. In that case, there’s no point in staying here and arguing.’
"Let’s go."
"Sis, we haven’t gotten your report card yet! How can we just leave?"
"Yeah, Sister-in-law, why don’t we ask around a little more?"
"There’s no need. My report card probably isn’t here."
"Not here? How could it not be here? Don’t tell me someone really took your report card ahead of time? But who would do something like that?"
’Yes, who would do that?’ Shen Nian smirked. ’Besides *her*, I really can’t think of anyone else who would do something like this!’
’But does she really think taking my report card can ruin my future? What a joke!’
"Come on, we’re going to find her."
"Huh? Sister-in-law, you know who took it?"
"Hmph, who else could it be? It has to be that wicked woman, Qin Xueling!"
After hearing what Shen Nian said, Shen Xiangnan finally put two and two together. Besides that wicked woman, he really couldn’t think of anyone else who could have done it!
"It’s her again! How can she be so horrible!"
When Lu Xinyue remembered how Qin Xueling had deceived her into doing what she did last time, her resentment deepened.
"Again? Don’t tell me she’s done something even worse?"
The incident at the Lu Family estate hadn’t gotten out, so the Shen family had no idea that Qin Xueling had caused such a scene there. If they had known, Shen Xiangnan probably wouldn’t be this calm right now.
"You have no idea!..."
Filled with righteous indignation, Lu Xinyue gave Shen Xiangnan a rough account of what had happened. With a common enemy, the two of them instantly found themselves on much friendlier terms.
"How could she do that? How could she do that to my sister! Sis, why didn’t you tell us something like this happened?!"
By the time Lu Xinyue finished her story, Shen Xiangnan was absolutely furious. ’If I had known, I would have taught Qin Xueling a lesson last time!’
’I wonder if Sis has been treated unfairly at the Lu Family estate these past few days, or if the Lu Family misunderstood her because of this.’
"Alright, I’m fine. See? I’m perfectly okay! Besides, she didn’t get her way, did she? Come on, let’s go find her now. My report card can’t stay in her hands!"
"Let’s go, let’s go! We have to hurry over there and take my sister’s report card back!"
With their minds made up, the trio left the report card distribution area and prepared to leave the school to find Qin Xueling.
Most of the people at school at this time were there for the same reason as Shen Nian: to pick up their report cards. Quite a few people in her grade knew her. After all, not only were Shen Nian’s grades excellent, but she was also remarkably beautiful—a perfect combination of top student and campus belle.
Normally, Shen Nian was used to getting a lot of attention at school. But today was different. As people passed the trio, they would stare at Shen Nian, then point and mutter amongst themselves.
Shen Nian frowned slightly. ’This feels... off.’
Shen Nian wasn’t the only one who sensed it; Shen Xiangnan and Lu Xinyue noticed it too. Shen Xiangnan was the first to react, striding directly over to a nearby group to confront them.
"What are you all talking about while pointing at my sister?"
