When she saw Lu Cheng completely ignore her, Miao Suiping’s face flushed red, then went pale. Of course, she was furious!
Her gaze, when it landed on Shen Nian, grew heavier with jealousy and hatred. It was even tinged with a hint of malice.
’Go ahead and overestimate yourself,’ she thought. ’It’d be best if you just killed the old man. Let’s see what you do then!’
After shooting a few venomous glares at Shen Nian, Miao Suiping turned her gaze back to Lu Cheng, who was standing nearby.
Even though he had just shouted at her, Miao Suiping found she couldn’t be angry with him at all. In fact, it only stoked her desire to win him over.
’I’ll make him see how good I am,’ she resolved. ’I’ll make him understand that Shen Nian is nothing compared to me!’
Shen Nian paid no mind to the little scene with Guo Chunxiang and Miao Suiping. Without so much as raising her head, she focused on preparing for the treatment.
Tian Yilan had been startled when she saw Shen Nian take out the silver needles, but Lu Cheng’s shout had served as a reminder.
Since she had already agreed to let Shen Nian try, she knew she shouldn’t disturb her now.
"Mom, we have to trust Xiao Nian."
Miao Cuifen said, grasping Tian Yilan’s hand. She was trying to comfort Tian Yilan, but she was also trying to reassure herself.

Finally, after the round of repairs was complete, Shen Nian removed the needles from Miao Dagui’s head one by one and let out a sigh of relief.

"I’m okay."
Then, Shen Nian turned her head to look at Tian Yilan.
"Grandma, if all goes well, Grandpa should wake up in about an hour. He’ll be very weak when he does, and he might fall right back asleep. Don’t worry if that happens."
"Ah? Xiao Nian, are you serious?"
Given what the doctors at the hospital had said, Tian Yilan had already prepared herself for the possibility that her husband might never wake up. She never imagined that after just a few needles from Shen Nian, he could actually regain consciousness.
"Yes. I’ll continue treating Grandpa over the next few days. He should make a full recovery."
