If Shen Nian had made another move, Lu Cheng honestly wasn’t sure he could restrain himself.
Thankfully, Shen Nian just held onto him, nestling into his arms until she found a comfortable position and drifted off to sleep.
Lu Cheng only opened his eyes after he was sure Shen Nian’s breathing had evened out and she was sound asleep.
The moment the pressure was gone, Lu Cheng’s heart began to pound like a drum.
Gazing at Shen Nian’s sleeping face as she snuggled against his chest, Lu Cheng’s heart thundered, and an indescribable joy filled him.
He reached out and smoothed her brow, then leaned down slightly to press a kiss to her forehead.
After that soft kiss, Lu Cheng gazed at Shen Nian in his arms, feeling an even stronger desire stir within him.
His gaze traveled down from her eyes to her red lips.
Lu Cheng instantly recalled their previous kiss, remembering the wonderful feeling of her lips. He found it harder and harder to restrain himself. His heart began to race, and even the hand gently caressing her face started to tremble slightly.
He continued to lean down. Closer, closer... almost there...
Finally, just as he’d hoped, Lu Cheng kissed Shen Nian’s lips again.
Not wanting to wake her, Lu Cheng only brushed his lips against hers in a fleeting touch, not daring to deepen the kiss.

Shen Nian seemed to be having trouble breathing. She frowned and stirred in her sleep. Startled, Lu Cheng immediately pulled away.
Fortunately, Shen Nian only shifted in his arms. Once the obstruction to her breathing was gone, she fell back into a deep sleep.
Although it was just a small incident, Lu Cheng didn’t dare to try again.
Thinking back on what he’d just done, Lu Cheng couldn’t help but give a chagrined smile. He tightened his arms around Shen Nian, rested his chin on the crown of her head, and closed his eyes as well.

After a night of peaceful sleep, Shen Nian had no idea what Lu Cheng had gone through beside her.
Though she woke up in Lu Cheng’s arms again the next morning, having been through it once before, Shen Nian was much calmer this time.
Lu Cheng, on the other hand, seemed a little strange when he first woke up. Shen Nian noticed that he would slightly avert his gaze when he looked at her, and his cheeks were even a little red.

"Mom, don’t tell me all of this is for us to take back?"
"That’s right! Lu Cheng prepared some of it, and I prepared the rest. Don’t worry, it’s all useful stuff!"

’This is way too much! We’re just visiting my parents. Anyone who didn’t know better would think we were moving!’
Sun Yufeng could tell what Shen Nian was thinking and looked a little sheepish. It was indeed a lot of stuff. But, well, they just kept getting things ready and ended up with this much!
"Xiao Nian, don’t you worry. Lu Cheng is here. Just let him carry everything. I’m sure he won’t complain about the weight or the amount!"
