Chapter 88: A pretty girl came looking for you
"Uncle, even if we take these things to the city, I am afraid that we will not get a good deal. Can you take me to the county? I think I have a means to sell these things for a reasonable price." At that moment, Han Ruochen recalled the card that was still lying in her pocket. Didn’t Zhai Muchen tell her that he could help her if she wanted to sell something that her uncle couldn’t?
Han Ruochen felt a bit awkward. Clearly, she had never intended to ask Zhai Muchen for help, but it seemed like she was going to eat her own words very soon. She glanced at her second uncle, who looked a bit restless, and sighed. Of course, it was not her second uncle’s fault. Most of the youngsters had gone to the county or the city to develop, and not many villagers were willing to fish.
Those who went to the sea were either old or too inexperienced. Thus, they hardly ever got anything good and would return with just about anything. Her second uncle was also not motivated; after the death of his father and her grandfather, he just did what he had to do to survive. Thus, his connection was limited to small restaurants, and the bigger ones probably didn’t even know his name.
If they went to a big restaurant to sell these things, there was a very good chance they would be ripped off.
Second Uncle Han waved his hand. "Of course, I can bring you to the county, but what are you going to do there? I am telling you, going to the county is of no use. I am not familiar with the owners of the big restaurants, and the small ones won’t be able to buy these things." He could at most sell the zebra mantis shrimps, but other than that, he couldn’t do anything.
"I know, uncle. You don’t have to worry about it; just bring me to the county," said Han Ruochen with a sigh and then walked over to the truck, which her uncle used to deliver the seafood.
Over at the Zhai place, Zhai Mumu, who just woke up, was brushing her teeth. She had just finished spitting out a mouthful of foam when she saw a young lady standing outside the house. The young woman looked like she was thinking about whether to ring the bell or not.
Zhai Mumu didn’t know who this young woman was; after all, she had never seen her before, but she knew that this woman was close to her elder brother’s age. Suddenly, all kinds of thoughts, including baby mama and abandonment, flashed in her mind, and she hurried out of the bathroom. Face dripping with water, Zhai Mumu went to the room of her brother, who was sitting on an armchair and reading a military book. "Did you knock someone up and leave her?"
"What?"
"There is a young lady standing outside our house. I don’t know her, certainly, you must know her? I don’t think that Ah Heng knows her either." And even if he did, the man was still brooding over getting beaten up. That idiot didn’t even think that being alive was better than nothing. He was very lucky that he was rescued in time, or else he would have ended up losing even his life, and yet the only thing he was worrying about was that he couldn’t beat those thugs.
He was truly an idiot!
Her younger brother’s hobbies were more inclined towards fighting rather than the opposite gender, and her elder brother was the same. But even so, she was willing to entertain the thought that her elder brother had enlightened. It was much more believable than Zhai Heng getting a girlfriend.
Zhai Muchen frowned, but he still closed the book and walked toward the door.
Seeing this, Zhai Hua was stunned. That young woman...she really came here for her elder brother? She immediately turned around on her feet and went after her brother. There was no way she was going to miss out on the fun; she instantly craned her neck and started to peer out of the window.
Of course, Zhai Muchen knew his sister too well. He closed the door right after he went out, and Zhai Mumu couldn’t see a thing. When she saw that her brother had gone to such lengths to avoid her, Zhai Mumu was really upset. She stomped her feet and then went back to her room in frustration.
Zhai Muchen looked at the young lady about whom Zhai Mumu was talking and sighed in relief when he realised that it was none other than Han Ruochen. He carefully glanced at her up and down and realised that the young lady, other than covered in sweat, looked perfectly fine. "Is anything the matter?"
Han Ruochen tried to give him a sheepish smile. She never thought that after showing a cold face to the man the last time, she would come looking for him to ask for a favour. "Commander Zhai, didn’t you say that you could help me the last time? I found some snail caviar, but unfortunately, I am worried that I will be taken advantage of. Can you help me?"
"You found snail caviar? How much?"
"Around four shells."
Zhai Muchen puckered his lips. "Come with me." After all, he had given his word to Han Ruochen; the woman had saved his reckless younger brother, and even though his family had not gone to thank her, he knew about her. His parents were still busy with their own things, and Zhai Heng was still recovering, so it was not right for him, as an unmarried young man, to go and visit her.
Since she had come to look for him for help, of course, he was going to help her.
Staring at Zhai Muchen’s broad shoulders that looked dependable, Han Ruochen couldn’t help but feel slightly at ease. It was a good thing that Zhai Muchen was willing to help her. It seemed like, though the man appeared to be a bit cheeky, he was a kind-hearted person.

Zhai Mumu: Cheeky? My elder brother? Are you sure that we are talking about the same person?
