Chapter 326: Zhou Ziming
Han Ruochen had no idea that her father was going through some earth-shattering changes at the moment. She was currently looking at the man in front of her with a frown on her face. She looked at the familiar facial features of the man and could not help but scrunch her nose up slightly; she had a feeling that she had seen this man before, but Han Ruochen could not quite place her finger on it.
However, after confirming that the stranger was not a stranger, Han Ruochen walked over. "Who are you?"
"If you don’t mind, then you can call me Uncle Zhou." Zhou Ziming was subtly sizing Han Ruochen. He had heard a lot about Han Ruochen and wanted to know what kind of person she was. "Are you free? There is something that I wanted to talk about."
Zhou Ziming had just returned from the military and had not gotten the chance to change out of his military attire. He was still wearing the cold, green and crisp military uniform.
Looking at the man who was still exuding a cold aura, Han Ruochen had no idea what was going on.
She had a feeling that she knew the man in front of her, but she could not remember him, which caused her to frown and look at him with a hint of wariness, as she could not understand why the man came to look for her.
"There is no need to worry. I am here regarding Zhai Heng’s matter. You might already know about it. First, as his uncle, I would like to thank you for the help that you have given to my nephew. As for what happened a few days ago, we have already clarified the matter."
Han Ruochen heaved a sigh of relief when she heard the response of the man. She finally understood the identity of this man and remembered where she had seen him. She nodded and asked, "You have clarified the matter already?"
"Yes, we have." Zhou Ziming nodded. He seemed to be in deep thought as he continued to stare at Han Ruochen. He did not expect that the most cool-headed person in this matter would not be his nephew or the father-in-law of his sister but someone who did not have the smallest connection with the Zhai or Zhou family.
Han Ruochen nodded and heaved a sigh of relief. "It is good that the matter has been clarified." She paused and then added, "Please follow me; it is inconvenient to take you home at the moment, so if you don’t mind, then you can sit in my boat." Fortunately, she cleaned her boat every day, and there was no bad smell lingering on board.
Zhou Ziming nodded as he followed Han Ruochen into the boat. As for why Han Ruochen said that it was inconvenient for her to take him home, he did not ask about it after all; he knew that everyone had their own problems.
Once Han Ruochen had handed the man a glass of cold water, she sat down on the foldable chair and said to him, "I am glad that the matter had been clarified, but there is one matter which was not convenient for me to speak about in the Zhai family the last time. However, I feel that as Zhai Heng’s elder, you should probably know about it since his parents are not with him at the moment."
"What is it?"
"Around the beginning of the month, Yun Tao came to look for me with a group of thugs. As for the reason, I think you should know by now that it was nothing more than him harbouring enmity toward me. He was upset that I had motivated Zhai Heng into the right direction." Han Ruochen took a sip of the cold water herself and gulped it down before continuing, "And I now have a very strong reason to suspect that the incident where Zhai Heng was almost beaten up to death was linked to Yun Tao because the leader of the thugs he brought last time to teach me a lesson was the same man who was beating Zhai Heng."
"As for what he wanted to do..." She trailed off with a shake of her head. "I think we all know what kind of devilish idea that man had in his mind. I just think that you should relay these matters to Zhai Heng’s parents. I don’t mean anything harsh by saying such words, but aren’t they being a bit too irresponsible by not paying attention to their own children?"
Han Ruochen’s eyes were clear when she said those words. She had no intention of sowing discord among the two families, but she had to admit that the two Zhai parents were really a bit too disappointing. Their own son was almost killed, but they never turned up, and it was Zhai Muchen who was running around. Now the situation was the same.
Elder Zhai was Yun Tao’s maternal grandfather; there were some things that he could not deal with. Madam Yun would naturally side with her son even if all the evidence pointed to something wrong with Yun Tao. Zhai Heng seemed to have grown up, but he was not taught well by his elders. He was fooled and misled by a man who was still wet behind his ears; was it not because Zhai Heng’s parents were not there for him?
Why was Madam Yun so aggressive back then? Maybe that woman did not even realise it herself, but she knew in her heart that the matter was linked to her son, so she was being pushy by bringing up the matter of raising Zhai Heng again and again. If Zhai Heng’s parents were there with him, would he be in such a submissive position? What was worse was that Han Ruochen knew that even if she told the truth to the two of them, they would not have believed her. After all, in their eyes, Yun Tao was a really innocent and naive young man.
