Chapter 318: Bent On Going Against
Meng Yunhan was still terrified of the rage that she saw in her husband’s eyes the last time Yang Jianming and Han Ziyan’s affair came to light. She could never forget how Han Yichen looked at her as if he wanted to devour her alive. Fortunately, she somehow managed to calm him down. However, that incident was enough to state how much Han Yichen hated Yang Jianming. If he so much as heard Han Ziyan’s calculating words, Meng Yunhan was worried that the man would skin the two of them.
Han Ziyan pushed her mother’s hand off her mouth and said to her angrily, "Am I wrong? It’s all my sister’s fault. Why did she have to break up with him? So what if I had an affair with him? It wasn’t like I did it when the two of them were married; they were just engaged. As long as Yang Jianming married her, it was fine, wasn’t it? But no, she made a huge fuss and even caused such a mess. She even insisted that the Yang family return the betrothal money, which made them hate me even more."
Han Ziyan still did not think that there was anything wrong with what she did. It was all Han Ruochen’s fault; that woman was too stubborn. Which man did not have an affair while being unmarried? Who asked Han Ruochen to make such a big fuss as if she had been wronged to death?
She turned to look at her mother and took her hands into hers. "Mom, you need to do something. Try to make Han Ruochen marry Yang Jianming and return the betrothal money to their family or else they will continue bullying me. Do you want me to be bullied to death?"
"Ziyan, it’s not that mother doesn’t want to help you but you are asking for the impossible. Your dad will never agree to such a thing." Meng Yunhan was having a headache. She too wanted to send Han Ruochen away; after all, ever since that woman started to act up, no one was willing to listen to her in the family. But she was not optimistic to the point of oblivion. She knew that Han Ruochen would never marry Yang Jianming and even if somehow made that woman agree, her husband would never agree.
"Mom, are you going to help me or not?"
"Alright, alright, I will think of something." Meng Yunhan was helpless whenever Han Ziyan used this tactic on her. She sighed and then said to Han Ziyan, "But this time will be the last time; if it doesn’t succeed, then you have to give up. You know that wretched girl is getting more and more vicious. If she finds out that I am behind it, she will definitely cause trouble for me."
"Mom, don’t worry, I am not going to cause trouble for you." after getting a favourable answer, Han Ziyan did not care about anything. "Mom, you saw my sister bringing new clothes but I haven’t bought anything since last month. Mom..." Han Ziyan drawled her words pleadingly. Ever since she was young, she was determined to go against Han Ruochen; whatever Han Ruochen had, she had to have it too. Since Han Ruochen bought new clothes, naturally, she also had to buy a new set of clothes.
Meng Yunhan sighed heavily. "Ziyan, it’s not that your mom doesn’t want to help you but I really don’t have the capability. Where can I get so much money from? I have little to no savings left. You also need to save your money wherever you can. It is not like you do not have any clothes to wear for the time being. I am not forbidding you from buying, but at least you need to refrain. Don’t learn from Han Ruochen; that girl has no heart."
When she thought about how Han Ruochen bought clothes for everyone in the family but did not even bring a piece of rag for her and Han Ziyan, Meng Yunhan felt unsettled. That woman was getting more and more out of the line and it was not good, how could she do such a thing? No matter what, she was still her mother!
Even if they had their differences, how could she just leave her alone like that? The grace of giving birth was bigger than anything.
"I know, I know mom. I assure you that this is just this one time; after this, I will not ask you to do it again. After I buy this dress, I will start saving my own earnings and then buy you a gift. Don’t worry as long as I eat a few vegetarian meals, I can save a lot of money." Han Ziyan still needed Meng Yunhan to help her, so she hurriedly said a few flattering words to her mother.
When Meng Yunhan heard that her precious daughter was going to skip meat, she became distressed. She said to her, "There is no need for you to do such a thing. Han Ziyan raised her head and looked at Han Ruochen, who was about to go to the kitchen to drink water. After what she went through in the morning, she was determined to go against Han Ruochen no matter what.
