Chapter 230: Repaying A Favour (II)
Han Ruochen was backed by Zhai Muchen, and Yun Tao knew that he could no longer cause any trouble for Han Ruochen anymore. Because if he dared to cause trouble for Han Ruochen, then Zhai Muchen would definitely come after him.
"Let’s go." Yun Tao’s face was red with anger. It had cost him a bomb to hire these men, but in the end, he did not accomplish anything despite spending so much money. How could he not feel as if a cat were scratching his heart? But at the same time, Yun Tao was feeling unwilling. He had spent years – that was right, he spent years – to ruin Zhai Heng. He could not allow Han Ruochen to change Zhai Heng into a better person. Since he could not deal with Han Ruochen, he could only deal with Zhai Heng.
He grew up with Zhai Heng, and was very clear about what kind of temperament Zhai Heng had. He did not believe that he could not cajole Zhai Heng into losing track of things like he had done before. When he thought about how Elder Zhai and Old master Zhai were praising Zhai Heng for becoming sensible, he was so furious that steam was coming out of his ears. How could this be allowed? He should be the only one to be praised by the elders of the Zhai family.
Fury flashed in his eyes but Yun Tao still held on. He turned to look at the men beside him and sneered, "What are you all looking at? Don’t you want to go back? If not, then you can cause as much trouble as you want, but don’t look for me to wipe your butts clean." But when he saw the hesitant looks in the eyes of the leader, he knew what the man wanted. Yun Tao sneered and took out a wad of yuan bills and thrust it in the hands of the leader. "Now get lost. I don’t want to be entangled in anymore mess."
"Leaving! We are leaving. Of course we will always obey Brother Yun." after successfully receiving the money from Yun Tao, the leader did not want to linger any longer. Anyway, he had got what he wanted. Why would he waste his time staying in this rotten village? It was too hot and he really disliked the humid air that was clinging to him.
The reason he was still hung up on dealing with Han Ruochen was because he did not see Yun Tao taking out the money and thought that the man was still aiming for the woman. But now that he had taken the money out, why would he waste his time?
"Thanks, Brother Yun." After successfully receiving the money, the leader of the hooligans smiled. "Brother Yun, if you need anything in the future, please feel free to contact us. We will make sure to deal with your troubles as if they were our own. After all, we are your good brothers."
"There is no need to say so much." Yun Tao frowned when he heard the words of the man. He simply said to him, "Hide for a few days and don’t get caught. That man saw your faces just now; if he comes after you, then there is nothing I can do." He paused and added, "That man is the big brother of your last victim." Yun Tao was worried that these men would not take his words seriously, so he immediately warned them.
"Don’t worry, Brother Yun. We understand." The hooligan’s leader expression changed and he turned solemn.
When he recalled the incident, the leader of the hooligans could not help but tremble. The last time they had no intention of beating up Zhai Heng to death, but they ended up losing their minds. Back then, Yun Tao had given them instructions to deal with Zhai Heng and only turn him into a cripple.
After they were done with their task, he was going to give them enough money and send them away from the county. Who would have expected that Zhai Heng would have such a foul mouth that he offended all the thugs under him? Because of Zhai Heng’s words, those thugs were so angry that they forgot all about the instructions they were given and instead started to beat Zhai Heng up. They were so furious that they wanted to beat Zhai Heng to death!
In fact, it was a good thing that Han Ruochen called the police or else they would have done something that they would have regretted all their lives. They were very well aware of how strong and prominent the Zhai family was.
They only dared to attack Zhai Heng because they had the backing of Yun Tao but they understood one thing very well: if they had killed Zhai Heng, then Yun Tao would have abandoned them without any hesitation. What’s more, he was the maternal grandson of the Zhai family and the chances of the people of the Zhai family believing them over their own maternal grandson were close to none. How could they even think of such a thing?
If they were really caught, then they all would have been executed on the spot without any trial. After all crippling someone and killing someone were different!
Hence, it could be said that Han Ruochen was their saviour as well because without her they would have killed Zhai Heng and that would have been the end of them all.
"Leader, are you really not going to do anything?" one of the underlings couldn’t help but ask.
"What kind of nonsensical question is that? Of course I am going to let her go," the leader rolled his eyes and slapped the man on the back of his head. He said to him, "If that girl had not come to rescue the day, then we all would already be dead and resting six feet under the ground. Don’t be so shameless and take this opportunity as repaying a favour." Leader Zhao snorted. Even though he was a thug, he still had moral conduct.
Anyway, he was determined to not make a mistake this time around.
