Zhai Muchen had no idea that someone was scheming behind him. At that very moment, he was looking at Han Ruochen, though he was careful not to be caught by someone; he was still noticed by Shen Zijin, whose gaze had been on him from the start. When she noticed that Zhai Muchen was looking at Han Ruochen, her expression turned as sinister as possible. She hated Han Ruochen, and she hated Han Ziyan. Zhai Muchen was watching Han Ruochen talking with an elderly lady when suddenly his vision was blocked by something. Slightly annoyed, he raised his head to look at the person who had come to disturb him. When he saw that it was a young woman, he could not help but frown because the way this woman was looking at him was similar to how those who looked at him as if he were a piece of meat that she was salivating over. He pursed his lips, not knowing what to say at that very moment.
He simply leaned away from the woman when he noticed that she was looking at him way too closely and politely questioned, "How can I help you?"
"M..Master Zhai..." Shen Zijin shyly tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and looked at the man in front of her. She blushed the second her gaze met with Zhai Muchen, and she couldn’t help but lower her gaze as she felt her cheeks heating up when she saw that the man was looking at her. That only made her more emboldened and she said to Zhai Muchen, "Master Zhai, if you don’t mind, can I sit next to you?"
As she spoke, she was already making her way toward the seat that was closest to Zhai Muchen as if she were sure that she would not be rejected, but before Shen Zijin could even take a seat, she heard Zhai Muchen say, "No."
"Master Zhai?" Shen Zijin had not expected the man to say all of a sudden. She raised her head and looked at him in shock; she was sure that the man would agree with her and let her sit next to him. Thus, she could not help but be shocked when she heard him say no.
Zhai Muchen knew what the woman was thinking, but he was also adept at dealing with such situations. He smiled politely at the woman and stated in a low voice, "Miss, this table is more or less empty; if you sit here with me, then I am afraid that the people around us will start talking."
And that was exactly what Shen Zijin wanted to do. She waved her hand and said, "That won’t happen. Look around, young master Zhai; everyone is busy in their own conversation. Anyway, I am only sitting with you because I have no other place, Young Master Zhai!" Of course, it was a lie; as soon as she approached Zhai Muchen, everyone around them started focusing on the two of them. However, Shen Zijin wanted the rumours to start flying all over the place. As long as Zhai Muchen was trapped by her, it would not take long for the two of them to become a couple!
Just the thought alone was enough to make her excited!
When Zhai Muchen saw that the woman was determined to sit with him, he sighed helplessly. Seeing this, Shen Zijin thought that the man had agreed, but before she could even cheer up, Zhai Muchen got up from his chair and walked away. This was worse than Zhai Muchen refusing to sit with her. Everyone who was looking at Shen Zijin as if she were waiting for her to catch up to Zhai Muchen was stumped when they saw that the man had actually got up and left the poor woman to sit on the table alone.
But after a while, some of them could not help but sneer. Especially Chuntao, who could not see Shen Zijin acting all smug in someone else’s house. "Some people really don’t know how much they weigh and cause trouble for their family. Alas, if only they knew how to sit still!"
Shen Zijin’s face turned pale after being scolded. She glared at Chuntao and said to her, "You speak as if he would have looked at you!"
"Of course, I am not foolish enough to think that I can catch the eye of such an excellent man. But I am smart enough to know where my limits are. I will never do something as foolish as you!" Chuntao gloated without holding back. Did Shen Zijin think that she could insult her by telling her such an obvious thing? She already knew that she was not good-looking. What was the point of saying such a thing?
Shen Zijin’s face flushed red. It was as if she had punched cotton. She was furious but did not dare to say anything. When she saw that everyone was looking at her, her eyes could not help but turn red, and she ran out of the Han family yard. One of these days, she would make these people regret saying such things to her! Once she became a millionaire, she would teach these people a good lesson.
