Chapter 132: Its your fault too
"Your Han family has people, but that does not mean that you can always bully our Yang family. Your sister filed a complaint against my son and then made him lose his job. Your sister is a whore, and yet you still act like you are chaste and innocent. Look at her getting cosy with another man so soon, who are you to blame, my son? She is truly disgusting and wants to drag my son down with her? No way – ahhhh!!"
She was quick to move away, or else she would have got her head broken.
"Then you can send me to jail in return, I will get your head broken—I mean, there is no way the police will let you shove me inside a cell without a crime, right?" Han Yong smiled like a ruffian as he swooped down to pick up another stone from the ground.
"You!" Mother Yang was both furious and angry, but she still restrained her tongue because she was worried that the man would hit her again. But when she thought about how her son had lost both his job and reputation, as well as the wife that she had arranged for her eldest son, she couldn’t help but raise her finger and point at Han Ruochen. "Look at that, your sister is fooling around with a man. I don’t know who that man is and where he has come from, but why is it that only my son lost his reputation?"
Mother Yang had yet to give up on her intentions of letting Han Ruochen marry her eldest son. She still considered Han Ruochen as the daughter-in-law of their family, and the fact that Han Ruochen was roaming around with another man was quite a shame for her, as this woman was supposed to be the wife of her eldest son. If Han Ruochen ended up losing her virtue, then what would be left of her value? There would be nothing left!
She hated Han Ruochen, and she hated this man who had suddenly emerged from somewhere to take the wife of her eldest son away.
Zhai Heng had finally had enough. He stepped forward and sneered, "You want to know who I am? I am Zhai Heng of the Zhai family. Is there anything else that you want to know, then I can tell you more about me."
As soon as he finished speaking, Mother Yang and Yang Jianming’s faces turned as pale as paper. They looked at the man next to Han Ruochen and slowly noticed his resemblance to the old Zhai family members.
Mother Yang felt fearful. She held onto her son’s hand and stepped back while saying, "We...we did not know...we—"
"Shut up. You mean to say that if it were someone else, then you would have ruined the reputation of a perfectly fine woman?" Zhai Heng snapped. "I am telling you this right now. Han Ruochen is my sister; whoever bullies her will be bullying my Zhai family. She is the saviour of the Zhai family. If someone bothers her, then they’d better watch the roads while walking at night."
When he finished speaking, Mother Yang was burning with anger. She could not believe that Han Ruochen was so lucky to be protected by the Zhai family. At the same time, she was determined to bring Han Ruochen to her family even more; if this woman were to be with her family, then she would be able to get her husband and son promoted to various ranks.
She stepped back and then took her son along with her.
Once the two of them were gone, Han Yong turned to look at his sister. "Good girl, it seemed like you had finally grown up."
He reached out and placed his hand on top of Han Ruochen’s head.
Han Ruochen looked at her elder brother with a complicated look in her eyes. She knew that her elder brother was not a bad person, but after getting married to Madam Xu, he let go of himself completely. Han Ruochen did not know much about the situation with her elder brother, but what she did know was that he did have someone he liked, but because of their mother’s intervention, her eldest brother had to marry her niece.
After that, her eldest brother completely let go of himself.
There was no motivation left in him; thus, even if he knew that his business was going downhill, he never made an effort to change himself. In fact, she was quite sure that if her brother tried, he could have done a lot better. After all, he had both skills and talent. Sighing to herself, she said to her brother, "Elder brother, did sister-in-law complain to you?"
If her brother came to look for her, then her sister-in-law must have complained to him.
Han Yong looked at her with a glint in his eyes and agreed. "Well, she did say a few things to me about how you have been disrespectful toward her."
"And you are here because—"
"Because I want to tell you, you did a good job." Han Yong rolled his sleeves and turned his attention to Zhai Heng; he carefully looked up and down the man and said in a low voice, "Master Zhai, I know that you had good intentions when you came looking for my sister, but I would like it if you stayed away from her. I mean, you saw what happened just because you approached her. Ruochen is a simple woman, and we do not want anyone to ruin her reputation."
Zhai Heng felt it was unfair; he had done nothing wrong. His roguish rebel personality flared up, and he retorted angrily, "I did not even do anything. It was that woman who came running her mouth, so why are you asking me to stay away?"
"Be that as it may be, in the end, the fault lies with you too. If you had not tried to get close to my sister, then nothing like this would have happen—"
