Chapter 1187: Chapter 907: A Good Thing

"Yeah, that’s right. Such a good environment, many people are bound to come here to visit in the future, so there’s no worry about not getting rich. Originally, we didn’t live here and wanted to sell the house, but after hearing what Uncle said about the downturn, we should wait. Uncle, please help us look after it when we’re not around." Han Yi said with a smile.

"That’s not a problem, it’s all village houses, and they’re close to each other. If you trust me, just give me the key and leave a phone number or address, and if the market improves, I can notify you."

"That’s good. Ah, it’s not easy for us to come all the way here because of this house." Lin Wan sighed. The couple chatted a lot with this uncle, learning their home was nearby. If they really needed caretaking, it would be convenient.

After the electricity was connected, Lin Wan and Han Yi went outside to buy a shovel. At night, following the diagram drawn by Dad, they started digging in the backyard.

The items weren’t buried deep. In just ten minutes, they dug them up. Over the years, the outer box had started to corrode. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Looking at this situation, Lin Wan felt a bit worried, but Han Yi didn’t rush to open it. Instead, he calmly filled the hole and tidied up the ground before they carried the box back inside.

Once opened, they both breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, Dad had wrapped everything well in plastic bags; it was sealed tight, and the property documents for the house were all in there.

There was also a whole box of stuff Dad had accumulated over the years—jade, jade hairpins, gold locks, bronze pieces, various small items, none of which were very large. Although the items were small, Lin Wan recognized they were quite valuable.

"Ai Yi, can we take these things on the plane?"

"Yes, as long as they’re not liquids or knives, it’s fine."

Lin Wan then nodded reassuringly, "That’s good. So when are we leaving?" They’ve been out for over a month.

"Didn’t you fancy that piece of land? Not anymore?"

Lin Wan smiled knowingly; truly, her husband understands her.

"I do want it. Once you retire and we have free time, coming here to live for a while would be nice. The view over there is wide and the place is big, it’s a great property. We can tidy it up and build a new house."

"Hmm, if you want it, we’ll discuss it with Uncle tomorrow."

"Really?"

Han Yi gently flicked Lin Wan’s nose and chuckled, "When have I ever lied to you?"

There’s plenty of local snacks too. The next morning, after tidying up their things, Han Yi took her out to eat the local specialties.

This feeling, it really feels like they are here for a vacation, to relax.

Lin Wan found a phone booth and called her dad to explain the situation here.

When Lin Guozhi learned that they had already retrieved the items, he was relieved. Since the house was still there, it would be best to keep it. With his identity, he couldn’t go over there anymore, so it would go directly to Ah Hui.

Plus, with technology being advanced now, disguising oneself wouldn’t be a problem. After so many years, appearances change significantly. Back when he was there, he rarely visited; not many people knew him. But he still didn’t want to take that risk, not only because of the situation there but also here, given his sensitive identity.

After understanding her dad’s intention, Lin Wan also consulted her brother, who agreed they could tidy things up again. When Tuantuan was on holiday, they could take him there for fun. Lin Wan promised her brother to organize the house first, so when he brings Saozi and Tuantuan, they won’t have to sleep on the floor like now.

After so many decades, the furniture inside definitely needs to be replaced.

Seeing now that every household has built new houses, and they’re all quite modern.

So in the afternoon, Han Yi went to find that uncle, initially to discuss wanting to remodel the house, and also about wanting that piece of land from yesterday.

Uncle readily agreed to help them find construction workers. Building houses in the village, with everyone pulling together, brings people together. The adults all know how to build. This could also bring some income to the village.

Lin Wan walked around the village and pointed out a nice house to replicate.

And as for the seaside house, Uncle sold it to them for fourteen thousand, marking out a large square when surveying the land. At that time, Lin Wan and Han Yi studied it thoroughly, opting for a big square shape. Later, she could put up a fence and plan the backyard well.

Building the house would require thirty to forty thousand, plus she wants to return and get Ying Han to help design the plans for the plot she’s selling now as well.
