Michael looked at the chocolate merchants, and they nodded in confirmation.

"It is true, Michael. Our main customer base is mostly Squires and Knights from the Order. They were the reason why chocolate spread so fast in Angora City, and why our products were quickly sold out after just a few days," said the veteran peddler.

"You don’t know how popular chocolate is in our circle," said Sir Jon. "After you guys left, chocolate became some sort of a mythical product in our city. Those who were able to buy one before it sold out were able to sell it for ten times the original price they bought it for.

Of course, most refused to sell it at all. After all, we didn’t know when we were going to get chocolate again."

Michael knew chocolate would be a bestseller, but he didn’t know the reaction for it would be so maniacal. Ten times its original value? He wouldn’t have believed it if not for the look of excitement and seriousness in the Knight’s eyes.

Hmm… the main customer base for chocolates is Knights and Squires, who spend the majority of their days training in grueling conditions to create the perfect body. They certainly wouldn’t consume such a high-calorie food for nothing. That must mean that they get some sort of benefit from the chocolate.

"Do you feel different when consuming chocolate? Like having the mana in your cores burst out in an unprecedented excitement?" he asked the Knight.

Sir Jon didn’t deny nor confirm Michael’s question. "Nothing that drastic," he said. "We just feel a lot more energetic than before. The effects it gives us feels like a toned down version of a cultivation pill, but a lot cheaper."

Michael thought that they were feeling something like the [Sugar Rush] skill of the Orcs, but it turned out that they were just feeling some sort of placebo effect from consuming a lot of sugar.

Either way, it was still good that there were a lot of potential customers for chocolate.

"This is unbelievable. It turned out that chocolate came from the Nation of Reborn? My Squires are going to have a field day when they find out a huge shipment of chocolate is about to come!"

Seeing his excitement, Michael had to give him a free chocolate bar.

"You are all going to Angora City, correct? Then please allow me to escort you safely to your destination. With a Knight by your side, no thief will ever have the courage to make plans on your goods," Sir Jon said with the bravado and confidence of a true knight.

The chocolate merchants all looked at Michael for his permission.

"Sure, go ahead. I’m planning on heading back to Neo Orcus anyway."

Sir Jon looked at Michael with a regretful look on his face. "Ah, you are not joining us in Angora City? I was hoping to introduce you to the other Knights. They’ll surely treat you and your compatriots well knowing that you created chocolate."

"I’ll take you up on your offer. But I’ll just catch up with you later," he said to the Knight.

Sir Jon didn’t pursue it any further. "Well then, I’ll just leave you with a warning for caution. Today is not a good day for traveling alone in the wilderness. The Knights are preoccupied with something big, so the unscrupulous groups take this as a chance to prey on the weak and troubled."

Michael was intrigued and pressed the Knight with a question. "Preoccupied with something big? Can I know about it?"

Sir Jon looked hesitant to spill the beans. But then, he looked at the chocolate bar in his hands and couldn’t help but feel indebted to the young leader of the Nation of Reborn.

"You must keep this a secret to others," he warned Michael. "But, there was a recent sighting of a discovery very near here. Details are still fuzzy, but there are talks of a tomb containing the inheritance of a legendary figure in ancient times. The Order is trying to keep this news contained for now, but there are already a lot of companies in Angora City preparing to participate in the campaign."

Michael nodded with a blank expression, but even he couldn’t help but be interested in this tomb inheritance. Any chance he could try and advance the progress in upgrading ChatJK3 was a risk he was willing to take.

"Thank you for telling me," he said to the Knight.

"No problem. This news would have spread through rumor anyway. No matter how much we try to hide this, it will always find its way to everybody’s ears."

Early in the morning, the chocolate merchants set off into the wilderness guided by Sir Jon. The Knight almost pushed the carriage himself in excitement of getting the chocolates into Angora City.

They said goodbyes to Michael, who stayed behind in their camp.

Now that he was alone, Michael looked down on his shadow and summoned Fudge. Continue reading at Freewebnovel

"At your service, Master!"

Michael looked at the slime. "You heard what the Knight said last night, right?"

Fudge flashed a smug smile. "Of course, Master! Who do you think I am? I’m the best ninja in the world! Last night, I already sent out the Shadow Orcs to survey the wilderness for this supposed ancient tomb. It will only be a matter of time until we find it, I guarantee."

"Good job," he said to Fudge.

Michael then sunk back down to his shadows and arrived back in Neo Orcus, just behind the Rebornian Engineers currently working on their project.

"Ah, Boss! You got here just in time," said the HobMankey Engineer. "We have already laid out a plan to start the Golden Road."

They then showed Michael a blueprint showing a top-down view of the nearby topography of Neo Orcus, including the first destination of the Golden Road.

"What are we waiting for?" Michael said to the Rebornians. "Let’s get this show on the road."
