Chapter 2064: Chapter 1967: Embossed Jin Business Card

Huo Sining certainly knew Bai Buzhi’s temper. This old man’s identity seemed simple, but actually his capabilities were no less than Zhou Shitao’s. It’s just that because he was focused on cultivating the Dao, Bai Buzhi was more low-key compared to Zhou Shitao. The so-called ’great hermits often blend in with the masses’ might just be Bai Buzhi’s way of life.

Such a person isn’t burdened by worldly affairs, but correspondingly, such a person also has his pride.

Normally, Bai Buzhi looked down on others, but today, he personally came to find someone, only to be mistaken for a kidnapper. This made the old man feel somewhat embarrassed, so it was inevitable that he felt a bit angry.

Huo Sining laughed understandingly, "As long as we find the person, it’s fine. As for what to do next, it’s actually easy. The Dong family resides in this neighborhood, so they definitely can’t escape. Since we can’t handle it, let’s get someone authoritative. If my people from the Imperial Capital Cultural Relics Bureau are of no use, then we’ll let people from the Fucheng Cultural Relics Bureau handle it. They are locals and might be more easily trusted." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Bai Buzhi listened to Huo Sining and agreed quite a bit, nodding repeatedly, "Makes sense. It’s better to let the Fucheng Cultural Relics Bureau have a headache over this kind of matter."

However, what Huo Sining didn’t expect was that just as she and Bai Buzhi were about to head back to the hotel, even on their way, and had not yet contacted the Fucheng Cultural Relics Bureau, her phone rang again.

The incoming call was from an unfamiliar number, from Fucheng. Huo Sining thought it was someone from the Fucheng Cultural Relics Bureau looking for her. After hesitating for a moment, she answered, "Hello?"

The voice on the other end paused, clearly somewhat nervous and excited, but soon controlled the emotion and cautiously asked, "Hello, may I ask, are you Miss Huo Sining?"

Huo Sining froze, her eyebrows unconsciously furrowing as she puzzledly asked, "I am Huo Sining. May I ask who you are?"

The person on the other end immediately became excited and said eagerly, "Hello Miss Huo, I am Dong Jing’s father. My name is Dong Chengli. I just heard from my wife that you came to Fucheng and even found my wife, saying you wanted my son Dong Jing to help?"

Huo Sining’s furrowed brows immediately relaxed. She was somewhat surprised, raised her eyebrows, glanced at Bai Buzhi beside her, and smiled:

"Mr. Dong, hello. Yes, I just went to your neighborhood to discuss this matter and unexpectedly met your wife at the entrance. But Mrs. Dong might have misunderstood. I didn’t have the chance to explain before she left."

Dong Chengli naturally understood what the misunderstanding meant and became a bit embarrassed, hurriedly explaining:

"I truly apologize, Miss Huo. My wife was a bit over-guarded and mistook you for a swindler. She was too nervous about the child. I hope you don’t mind. How about this, if there’s anything, let’s discuss it at my house, okay?"

Of course, Huo Sining had no objection, "Are you at home?"

"Yes, my home is in ** building of the neighborhood, I’ll wait for you downstairs," Dong Chengli quickly replied.

"Alright, we’ll be there in ten minutes."

Huo Sining hung up the phone and said to Wu Jun, "Turn around and go back."

After Dong Chengli hung up the phone, Liu Xiuping eagerly came up and asked, "How did it go, what did they say?"

Dong Chengli replied grumpily, "What else? I called them back. I’ll bring them in for a discussion at home. Hopefully, they won’t take offense."

Liu Xiuping blushed instantly but still somewhat defiantly said, "How was I supposed to know that woman was really from the Cultural Relics Bureau? She came up saying they were doing some archaeological work and wanted our Jing’er to help. You tell me, how old is Jing’er? What help can he provide? Clearly, it sounds like a swindler. How was I to know she was telling the truth!"

As it happened, after encountering Huo Sining in the neighborhood, Liu Xiuping mistook Huo Sining and Bai Buzhi for scammers. So she turned around, holding her child, and ran home. Once home, she tightly closed the door after putting Dong Jing down and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Having run like that, she became utterly disheveled, seemingly as if something terrible had happened.

Coincidentally, just as she entered, her husband, Dong Chengli, came out of the study, holding a document, as he had hurriedly returned from the company to get it.

Seeing his wife’s disheveled state, Dong Chengli immediately furrowed his brows, thinking something had happened, and anxiously asked:

"What happened? How did you end up like this, with one heel broken? Did you fall, or did someone bully you?"

Seeing this, Liu Xiuping kicked off her shoes and began recounting the incident that just happened in the neighborhood to Dong Chengli.

Upon hearing it was scammers, Dong Chengli became furious, "Isn’t the neighborhood supposed to have good security? What are those security guards doing, letting these traffickers in? If any family got conned and lost their child, what would they do?"

With that, Dong Chengli was about to pick up the phone to call the police. But just as he grabbed the phone, he suddenly noticed a business card his son was holding. His gaze fell on the embossed gold card, and he paused.

He hadn’t seen the name on the card yet, but having worked in the company for so many years, Dong Chengli knew that the card’s craftsmanship and material were extraordinary, absolutely not the same as the shoddy business cards made of hard card stock he usually saw.

Such an embossed gold card, he had seen only once, during their company’s annual meeting. A president from a large real estate company had given him a card like this, and a colleague said that just its manufacturing cost was a few hundred bucks, and the embossing was solid gold.

Dong Chengli’s face immediately stiffened, and he hurriedly snatched the card from his son’s hand to compare it with the real estate president’s card from his bag.

Upon comparison, Dong Chengli noticed that the card in his son’s hand was even more exquisite than the real estate president’s card, with a higher gold content. In terms of design and feel, it was several tiers above his own card.

If it were a scam, there’s no way they’d have such an expensive card!

Dong Chengli now realized the issue. His gaze instinctively fell on the three embossed gold characters on the card.

Huo Sining!

This name instantly made Dong Chengli’s heart tighten. He looked incredulously at those three words, pondering internally if this was the main character of that widely talked-about Beast Head event.

Thinking this, Dong Chengli’s heartbeat uncontrollably quickened. He looked at his wife and then at his son, and almost instantly, he turned around and started rummaging through the living room quickly.
