Chapter 1349: Boredom and Bonding ( 1349 )
Lyzia took another sip of her hot chocolate, letting out a soft, dreamy sigh before slumping slightly in her seat.
"I’m so bored... I wonder what I should do."
Shaera smiled warmly, shaking her head. "If Your Highness is bored, perhaps a fairy tale book could lift your spirits? There are many romantic stories that have become popular among the elves lately."
Lyzia exhaled dramatically, slumping forward onto the table. Shaera gently cleared her throat.
"Your Highness... a princess should maintain her posture."
Lyzia straightened slightly, a playful pout on her lips. "I know, I know... Is there any news or gossip, or perhaps something interesting happening?"
Shaera shook her head, her smile patient. "Princesses shouldn’t concern themselves with gossip, Your Highness."
Lyzia puffed her cheeks, about to complain, but Shaera continue.
"However... if I’m not mistaken, I did hear something from one of the officers earlier. Something about someone claiming to be a princess from another continent arriving at our border."
Lyzia’s eyes lit up, and she leaned forward eagerly. "Really?"
Shaera narrowed her eyes slightly at Lyzia’s excitement before continuing. "Mm... if I’m not mistaken, they said this person claims to be a princess from another continent and wishes to travel to Armand on a diplomatic mission."
"Yes!" Lyzia pumped her fist, her smile widening before she rushed toward her bed and grabbed her personal mana talkie.
Shaera watched her with a mixture of curiosity and concern. "Your Highness, what are you going to do with that?"
"I’m going to contact Liana!" Lyzia said, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm. "I’ve tried calling her every day before, but she scolded me for contacting her without anything important to discuss since she’s been so busy. But now I have something to tell her, and we can maybe plan something together!"
Shaera exhaled softly, shaking her head as she mumbled under her breath. "This young princess is going to get scolded by the Star Daughter again."
Lyzia moved to the window and sat on the chair nearby, pressing the button on her mana talkie. "Sis Liana~ You there?"
A faint crackle, then a distant shout came through. "Five more rounds, Gracelle! And Mimi! Stop playing around and train properly!"
A brief pause, then Liana’s calm voice came through, clear and composed. "Yes? Who is this?"
Lyzia pursed her lips. "You don’t recognize your own cute little sister’s voice?"
Liana exhaled on the other end. "What do you want, Lyzia?"
"Umm... I just wanted to contact you."
"You already contacted me this morning, and the morning before that, and the morning before that." Liana’s voice carried a calm scold, followed by another shout in the background. "Mimi! I said stop playing around!" before she returned to the call. "Why are you contacting me now? I’m busy training my co-wives."
Lyzia pouted, her voice turning spoiled and whiny. "Hmmph! You don’t even care about your little sister at all! I’m going to complain to Brother-in-law about this!"
"Oh? Really? Complain to Young Master? Go ahead~ And I’ll block you from contacting me again~"
"Eeehhh!? Not fair!" Lyzia whined, her voice full of protest. "I’m your little sister, shouldn’t I get some attention from my own sister?"
Liana sighed softly on the other end. "Are you a child, Lyzia? You’re the Princess of the Elven Nation. Act like it."
"Mou!" Lyzia pouted, playing with a strand of her silver hair. "You should be lucky to have a cute little sister like me! Same emerald eyes, same silver hair, nearly the same height, adorable, charming..."
"Yes, yes..." Liana exhaled, her tone softening slightly. "So, what do you want?"
Lyzia’s voice perked up, shifting into a gossipy tone. "I heard some news~ There’s a human girl at the Elven border claiming to be a princess from another continent!"
"Oh? And?"
"This girl says she wants to go to Armand on a diplomatic mission! Isn’t that interesting?"
There was a brief pause before Liana replied, her tone calm and unsurprised. "I already know."
"Eh? You already know?!"
"Hmm? Of course I already know. Young Master was summoned by his father about this matter earlier."
Lyzia let out a dramatic huff. "Not fair! How come you know everything before I do?"
Liana chuckled softly on the other end. "This is Armand, Lyzia. Every piece of information reaches us before it reaches anyone else."
Lyzia pouted, her voice dropping into a sulky tone. "I finally had something I thought was important to share... but now it’s nothing special..."
Liana exhaled softly, her tone gentle. "Lyzia, you still have your other sisters, you know."
"Hmmph! Everyone’s busy with their fiancés, and Eldest Sister Azariah is busy with her son. They’re all leaving me alone, bored with nothing to do!"
Liana chuckled lightly. "There are plenty of things you could do, Lyzia. Read a book, study, learn something new. You know, learning, learning, learning~"
"Mou! I hate it!" Lyzia whined, slumping further into her chair. "After becoming royalty, everything I do has to follow etiquette and rules! It’s so boring!"
Liana’s chuckle grew warmer. "That’s normal, Lyzia. It’s been that way ever since our aunt Mylezra, the previous Elven Queen, married King Garius. Royal life comes with responsibilities. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find joy in it."
"Hmph!" Lyzia huffed, crossing her arms. "No wonder Brother-in-law said royal life is boring. Now I get what he means."
Liana let out a soft laugh. "You shouldn’t follow how Young Master talks. Despite saying that, he takes his responsibilities seriously. Even if he grumbles about it sometimes, he’s always focused on protecting his family, thinking deeply about how to protect his people, and making sure everyone is safe and cared for."
"Really?"
"Mhm~ Yes. That’s why, even if Young Master seems casual about it, everyone who is close to him, especially me and the rest of his fiancées, knows how much he cares and how hard he works. He protects Armand’s people, ensures no enemy can threaten them, and makes sure that no one in Armand goes hungry or lives in poverty. The entire Armand family is like that. It’s not just words, it’s who they are."
Lyzia fell silent for a moment before speaking softly. "So he really does work hard, huh..."
Liana’s voice softened, filled with fondness. "Mm... he does. That is the kind of man your brother-in-law is, Lyzia. So while he may call royal life boring, he never neglects his duty."
