Chapter 1700: Chapter 1702: This Isn’t Me
Everyone was tense along with Li Chuntao.
Chuntao’s third brother quickly took the cup of water their mother handed over. "Little sis, it’s fine, Third Bro will pour you another cup right now."
Li Chuntao had no attention to spare for her family’s reactions.
Right now, she lifted both hands and held them up in front of her eyes.
Her eyes widened again.
These really did look like her hands, no mistake about it, but why were they so slender?
Her hands were clearly supposed to be chubby.
Even her arms were this thin.
Half in disbelief, she reached out and pinched her own arm.
Ow, that hurt!
No doubt about it, this really was her arm.
She yanked the quilt aside, only to see that the pajama pants on her body were much smaller than before; one look and you could tell they were pants meant for a skinny person.
She reached out and felt her own legs—sure enough, they were thin.
Still unwilling to accept it, she grabbed at her own waist, and couldn’t even get a handful.
This body isn’t mine, what on earth is going on?
She raised a hand to touch her own face, then hurriedly shouted, "A mirror, a mirror, I want a mirror."
Hearing this, the Li Family were all stunned. Why did she suddenly want a mirror?
But then they thought about it: maybe it was because Yang Dong was here. After all, their daughter/little sis was a girl these past few days; of course she’d care about this stuff. She’d been lying there for days, her complexion was bad, her hair was a mess; it made sense she’d want to tidy up.
So they all hurriedly chimed in.
"A mirror, where’s the mirror, my girl wants a mirror."
"Quick, quick, my little sis wants a mirror."
Yang Dong wanted to help, but this was after all Third Brother and Third Sister‑in‑law’s room; he didn’t really know where anything was, so he could only stand there and watch.
Xiaoxiao, however, briskly went and fetched a bronze mirror, then handed it to Li Chuntao.
But why did she have such a bad feeling about this?
Because Li Chuntao’s reaction was just too strange.
Sure enough, as soon as Li Chuntao got the bronze mirror, within a few seconds they all heard a "clatter."
The sound of the bronze mirror hitting the floor.
Everyone nervously looked at Li Chuntao, only to see her eyes fill with tears as she said, "This isn’t me, who on earth is this?"
There was helplessness in her gaze, fear, and even utter rejection.
The instant she picked up the bronze mirror, what Li Chuntao saw in it was another girl—pretty, but haggard.
This wasn’t her face, and this wasn’t her body either.
Where had her body gone?
And who was this girl?
Li Chuntao’s reaction was so abnormal that the people in the room finally realized something was seriously wrong.
"Girl, what’s wrong with you? Huh? Don’t you go scaring your ma like this."
"Yeah, little sis, what’s going on with you, this is you."
Even Chuntao’s dad couldn’t help speaking up. "It’s you, it’s you."
Li Chuntao didn’t believe a word her family said. She just clutched her head with both hands, shaking it hard, crying out in disbelief, "No, this isn’t me, it’s not me."
Seeing her girl like this, Chuntao’s mom’s heart was breaking. She rushed up to hug her, hoping to calm her down, tears streaming down her own face. "Girl, it’s you, it really is you. What on earth happened? How come you won’t even believe your own ma?"
For a moment, the atmosphere in the room was utterly bleak.
Xiaoxiao stood there watching all of this, feeling a bit uneasy.
What on earth was going on?
Could it be a fellow transmigrator has shown up?
Seeing Li Chuntao’s reaction—seeing her own body so terrified, pinching herself, searching for a mirror—it was obvious she didn’t recognize this body at all, right?
