Chapter 441: Departure [2]
Miniaturization!
BZZZ!
Grayish white ADE erupted from Leon in waves immediately after he stepped into the mechanic workshop, spreading across all the constructs that were already carefully arranged in front of him.
Under the influence of his ADE, the constructs swiftly started shrinking.
He already completed his final preparations to leave for the Abyssal Scar a while ago, and he already miniaturized most of the constructs ahead of time, arranging them inside large gray metal crates.
And now, as he did the finishing touches, the basic robots that were his helpmates in the workshop swiftly started picking up the heavy crates as they loaded them inside the large military truck.
The large armored truck was not just any truck.
Just like the truck with which Leon and Ren Nora went to see the Siege Core, this was a military truck with solid stealth capabilities.
It has potent camouflage tech that could help it blend seamlessly with any environment, and it also had advanced stealth systems in place to further mask it from the senses of most Neon Beasts in the wild.
More than 30 miniaturized crates were loaded inside the back compartment of the heavy truck, each of the crates filled with miniaturized constructs.
Apart from the Siege Core, all of Leon’s full power through his constructs were now concentrated inside this truck.
There was an abundance of all his normal blueprint constructs, including 50 of a mechanical army comprising Doom Rover v0.1s and v0.2s.
Leon judged that 50 mechanical soldiers were enough for his first journey into the Abyssal Scar; he left the rest behind.
He didn’t know exactly what he expected to see in one of the 2 big Death Zones of the world, but he had a hunch that his fate was tied to it simply because of his Temporal Anomaly trait.
If not anything, then the simple fact that he could explore more and far deeper than what any other faction of this world had explored the Abyssal Scar since he was immune to ADE corruption was enough for him.
Apart from all his normal constructs, including all his different types of grenades, he also carried every single Class Exclusive construct that he’d created so far except the Siege Core.
The Siege Core was not exactly a type of construct that can be carried about.
Within a few minutes, all that he needed was arranged inside the truck. He was ready to leave.
Leon exhaled as he looked at the workshop one last time. "I’m going to miss you, I guess".
And then, he entered the driver’s seat.
Apart from the usual controls of the heavy-duty armored truck that were numerous, there was a red button among the controls.
Leon clicked it and immediately, the workshop shuddered slightly as...
CLANG!
A massive semi-circle door was opened at the Southern end of the workshop, and behind the massive semi-circle is a large tunnel large enough for the heavy-duty military truck to pass through.
This was Leon’s passage outside.
VROOM!
He reeved the engine, then he hit the accelerator, sending the powerful truck lurching forward with speed and agility as it quickly tore through the door and into the tunnel.
The tunnel was dark and pitch-black, but only for a moment as the moment the truck entered, 2 powerful headlights ignited from the truck’s front, illuminating the darkness.
As the truck drove off, the tunnel shuddered slightly as the massive semi-circle door rolled back, covering the entrance of the tunnel.
Leon disappeared into the dark.
...
A few minutes later, far away from the massive walls of Iron Reef.
A powerful truck that was almost 10 meters long across and 5 meters wide with desert brown armor plating surged out of a hidden underground tunnel in the middle of nowhere.
The truck had 6 tires that were almost as tall as a human, each of them dragging it forward with bestial speed and agility.
It had a compartment at its roof with an opening for something sharp to hook onto to ferry and transport it.
The truck looked like more like some deadly Neon Beast than a vehicle.
VROOM!
The moment the truck emerged, it didn’t slow down as it drove far into the wasteland towards the East, driving away from the city.
About a minute after the truck emerged from the secret tunnel, the sound of something cutting through the sky reverberated.
The Zephyr-7 Stealth Reconnaissance UAV cut through the sky like a blade.
The stealth aircraft slowed down when it was close to the swiftly-moving truck, throwing a long and thick chain with a hook down.
Davis timed the throw to perfection, allowing the hook of the thick chain to lash on to the modified roof compartment of the truck.
The truck jerked slightly as the thick chain was drawn taut, and then the front tire of the truck slowly raised up, leaving the ground completely in a few seconds.
The middle pair of tires also climbed into the air, and then the back pair of tires followed as the heavy truck was dragged into the air.
Instantly, the thick chain started receding, dragging the truck higher and higher into the air till barely a few meters separated the swiftly moving stealth aircraft and the truck.
Then...
BZZZZ!
A burst of grayish white ADE erupted from the truck, spreading through the thick chains and quickly engulfing the stealth aircraft above.
Then like an eraser, the stealth aircraft was erased from existence- from all radar, heat, and infrared sensors as it disappeared mid-flight.
Like an eraser spreading across a paper, this effect also moved through the chain and then towards the truck, erasing it one pixel at a time.
Within just a few seconds, the stealth aircraft, the thick chain, and the truck disappeared.
BOOM!
There was a brief sound of something breaking the sound barrier, and like a mirage Leon was gone from Iron Reef.
