Chapter 1930: Chapter 983: Enlightenment

Lian Manman couldn’t help but glance at Lian Yeye, thinking to herself, no wonder Yeye came over today with a constant smile on her face. Given the situation, Lian Manman is very willing to lend them a hand.

"Actually, my third uncle doesn’t need to worry at all." Lian Manman raised her voice and said, "My third uncle and aunt both supported the Old Master, arranged his funeral, wore mourning attire for him, and now they are still taking care of the Old Madam. In every aspect, no one can stop you from entering the ancestral grave."

This is one part, the other part being the current situation of the Lian Family. As for Lian Shouren and Lian Jizu, not much needs to be said. In recent years, this father and son pair, apart from being lazy and gluttonous, haven’t caused any trouble. As for the troublemaker Lian Shouyi, he has been dealt with and is unlikely to stir up any trouble in the future.

Moreover, the most important thing is, as long as Lian Shouxin doesn’t speak up, neither Lian Shouren nor Lian Shouyi dare to interfere. As for the nephews Lian Jizu, Erlang, and Liulang, they aren’t as meddlesome or rogue.

Lian Shouli truly has nothing to worry about.

"That’s right." Lady Zhang also said, "When you go back, just tell your third uncle to be at ease. Besides, you guys haven’t had a son yet, but you might in the future. Even if you don’t, there is Yeye. When she comes of age, you can invite a son-in-law who will take her surname. That would be your legitimate grandson, and you won’t have to worry about not having anyone to perform the funeral rites for you!"

Upon hearing Lady Zhang mention inviting a son-in-law, Lian Yeye immediately lowered her head, her face turning red. Lady Zhao’s eyes, however, lit up.

Lady Zhang and Lian Manman exchanged a glance and both smiled. It seems that Lian Shouli and Lady Zhao have their own plans.

"Wu Lang’s matter is settled and ready to proceed." Lady Zhao asked Lady Zhang, "Has there been any development with Manman’s matter? It should be in a year or two, right?"

"Once Wu Lang’s matter is settled, we’ll start planning hers." Lady Zhang glanced at Lian Manman and then smiled at Lady Zhao, "You don’t have to wait for her, if there’s someone suitable, go ahead and set it for Yeye."

"Back when we were together," Lady Zhang explained to Lady Zhao, "there was a need to maintain a sequence. But now, we are separate households, and Manman and Yeye are the same age, shaking here and there. If there’s someone suitable for Yeye, set it up, there’s no need to wait for Manman."

Lady Zhao’s intention to invite a son-in-law for Lian Yeye is a good thing. With Lian Yeye and Lian Manman being the same age, Lady Zhang worried that Lady Zhao might miss out on good candidates due to concerns about sequence, resulting in delays for Lian Yeye.

"It’s unlikely to be that soon; it’ll probably be after Manman." Lady Zhao said with a smile.

"I say, given your current conditions and Yeye’s character and appearance, you should carefully choose a son-in-law." Talking about children’s marriages, Lady Zhang had much to say. "It’s about the child’s lifetime, and since you’re inviting a son-in-law, while anything else doesn’t matter much, the child’s character is most important."

Nowadays, Lian Shouli’s family has some wealth, and Lian Shouli has skills that can be passed on to the son-in-law who joins the family. Additionally, Lian Yeye is good-looking, interacts appropriately with others, is straightforward, and is competent in household tasks. With these conditions, they can surely find a suitable son-in-law.

Lady Zhang and Lian Manman are happy for Lady Zhao and Lian Yeye.

"Mother, my third aunt has figured things out. That Yan Daopo with her rites can be set aside; don’t chase after someone scheming." Lian Manman said to Lady Zhang with a smile.

"Such heartfelt effort from you." Lady Zhao added.

Lady Zhang glared at Lian Manman, seemingly disapproving of Manman referring to Yan Daopo’s "Immortal Elixir and rites" as schemes. She then turned to Lady Zhao, gesturing.

"What’s with such talk, putting effort or not? All these years, do we need to say such things between us?" Lady Zhang said, "Since you’ve made up your mind, we won’t mention it anymore. This time, when you go to Prefecture City, go and have a relaxing time."

"Have you discussed it with your third uncle about all three of you going?" Lady Zhang asked Lady Zhao.

"We’ve talked it over, Yeye’s father suggested that the two of us go, he’ll stay home to keep watch." Lady Zhao replied, "I suppose you might not leave anyone here either; Zhizhi’s family might also go. With Yeye’s father at home, at least he can help keep an eye on things for you."

Given Lady Zhao’s reasoning, Lady Zhang couldn’t insist further.
