Chapter 1823: Chapter 1001: Bounty Notice (Part 3)

Beside them, Bai Yuxia was playing cards with Yang Sheng and the others, looking as relaxed as a spring day outing.

Cui Yu hurriedly passed by, and when he saw their picnic-like scene, he was momentarily stunned, then shouted, "Still eating! Zhang Chi has discovered the tracks of a red panda, hurry and catch it!"

Jiang Ning remained unfazed: "Good luck to you all."

Cui Yu shook his head internally: ’Women, women, women only corrode your mind, drain your energy, Jiang Ning, you will fall sooner or later!’

He took one last look at Jiang Yanan in the distance, didn’t stop, and quickly ran off!

The lamb skewers were cooked, and the assistant chef Tongtong sprinkled some more spices. Chen Siyu couldn’t wait to grab them, taking a bite despite the heat, and exclaimed, "Delicious, delicious!"

Eating by the stream as well, Jiang Yanan suddenly found her cold noodles less appetizing.

Lu Qiqi also found her sandwich tasteless.

Jiang Yanan was puzzled: "Where did they find the equipment? There’s nowhere you can buy it, right? And also those beef and lamb meats?"

Lu Qiqi said enviously, "Xue Yuantong is the flagship of Fourth Middle School, the school must have arranged it."

Shen Qing’e was also eating noodle sheets, Xiao County’s noodle sheets had an excellent texture, and the zoo’s markup wasn’t too high; adding a crispy grilled sausage only cost 9 yuan.

However, compared to Jiang Ning and their outdoor feast, it was much inferior.

Shen Qing’e gazed wistfully at Bai Yuxia’s fair and smooth legs, thinking deeply.

It was the first time she had seen Bai Yuxia in shorts, something she could never quite emulate — that casual elegance.

Snapping back to reality, Shen Qing’e said, "It must be the meat for feeding the zoo’s tigers and lions."

Lu Qiqi teased after hearing this: "Meant for animals, huh? Could the quality not be very good, maybe with lots of additives."

Shen Qing’e shook her head and naturally said, "No, with common farming products like chicken, pigs, beef, and lamb, the stricter the state checks, the higher the penalties for exceeding standards. Conversely, less common varieties, targeted at middle-class consumers, like bullfrogs and softshell turtles, are more prone to regulatory loopholes."

After she finished speaking, there was a quiet moment among the sisters.

Jiang Yanan was dumbfounded: "Qing’e, how do you know so much?"

Lu Qiqi was also surprised — such knowledge was not what they, as delicate girls, were expected to know.

Shen Qing’e was equally taken aback, wondering why she knew these things.

Apparently, while purchasing old hens and green carp and investigating the market, she learned from farming bosses about some industry secrets, and she remembered them.

Chen Siyu, biting on a lamb skewer, said, "The staff said it was freshly slaughtered sheep meant for tigers. Does this mean we’re snatching food from a tiger’s mouth?"

Bai Yuxia: "In a way, yes."

Chen Siyu: "We’re really something."

Sister Chen Siqing, not without worry, said: "If we eat the tiger’s food, wouldn’t they go hungry?"

"Exactly, I heard that many zoos skim on the carnivores’ feed, making the tigers not have enough to eat, and even swollen with hunger, how pitiful!" Chen Siyu sympathized.

She sighed, "I almost wish to feed myself to the tigers!"

Bai Yuxia, biting into a chicken wing, maintained elegant manners even while eating these things.

After sipping some orange juice, she said, "It’s better not to, if the tiger eats you, it might get sick."

Chen Siyu: "Am I junk food?"

Chen Siqing: "A bit absurd, but it seems reasonable."

...

A few hundred meters away, in a small forest.

Zhang Chi, putting his skill of drumming up city-wide delivery into use, shouted loudly: "To the south, to the south, two thousand yuan ran south! Charge!"

Liu Chuandao, Shen Xu, Deng Xiang, and a large group of people all rushed south.

Watching the obtrusive classmates disappear, Zhang Chi let out a sly smile: "A bunch of idiots!"

Yan Tianpeng appeared behind him: "Zhang Chi!"

Zhang Chi was startled!

Yan Tianpeng extended his hand, smiling brightly: "One thousand."

Zhang Chi’s face changed constantly, the red panda’s bounty had appeared on many park LCD screens, and many classmates subconsciously searched while walking, not only for the two thousand yuan prize but also for the glory of catching the red panda.

He really needed a helper, so in the end, he compromised: "I’ll split five hundred with you."

The two headed north, searching the grass and inspecting the trees.

As the encirclement gradually shrank, a sudden change occurred. A brown figure darted quickly from the tree roots, running off like a small dog — it was the red panda.

Zhang Chi shouted: "Chase!"

He began to run, with Yan Tianpeng following closely behind.

Who knew that little creature ran so fast through the woods that no matter what, they couldn’t catch up.

Zhang Chi, chasing from behind, panted heavily and puzzled aloud: "Do red pandas really run this fast?"

Yan Tianpeng was equally amazed; he only knew adult pandas ran fast, but this was a red panda!

This chase-and-run eventually led them to the creekside, where Zhang Chi saw Jiang Ning enjoying a barbecue and slowed down.

’Smells so good!’ Zhang Chi hadn’t eaten lunch yet.

"Jiang Ning, have you seen a red panda?" he inquired.

Xue Yuantong: "Nope."

Zhang Chi: "Oh."

He resumed chasing the red panda, feeling lucky yet slightly dismissive of Jiang Ning, entirely indulging in pleasure without collecting the reward money! Haha!

Zhang Chi and Yan Tianpeng searched everywhere but couldn’t locate it after a while.

"Seems like we’ve lost it, what bad luck!" Zhang Chi grumbled as they turned back.

Passing Jiang Ning’s territory once more, he glanced casually and suddenly spotted a brown figure.

He rushed over, realizing the red panda had both paws on a piece of watermelon, eating happily with watermelon juice all over its mouth.

Zhang Chi was shocked: "Why is the red panda with you?"

Xue Yuantong emphasized: "What red panda? This is my dog, it’s called Little Nine."
