Chapter 1514: Chapter 1514: Similarities
Carl stuck out his blood-red tongue and licked his lower lip, spitting blood and phlegm from his mouth. He looked up at Miyamoto in confusion. By rights, Miyamoto Gangming should have taken this chance to finish him off, but Miyamoto Gangming didn’t go after him, just stood there without moving.
Carl soon realized that Miyamoto’s attention wasn’t on him at all, but skewed toward the restroom door behind him. His doubts were quickly answered. Another tall white guy walked out from the bathroom. Carl recognized him at a glance—Stephen, from a big Western family, ranked about the same as him on the global expert lists.
Stephen raised his eyebrows, grinned, and pulled a 30-centimeter-long dagger from beside his thigh, half-squatting with his face slightly relaxed.
But very soon, the expression on Stephen’s face could no longer relax. Miyamoto Keiko rushed at Stephen like a gust of wind. The East Ocean Long Knife in his hand rose high and came crashing down on Stephen’s head. Stephen was shocked by Miyamoto’s speed, but he reacted quickly. Stephen swung his knife horizontally with his right hand at Miyamoto Keiko, smashing it hard against the Dongyang Long Sword.
Their weapons collided almost instantly. With a sharp metallic screech, sparks even burst from their blades. Stephen was stunned by Miyamoto’s raw power. The moment their weapons met, he felt his own blade about to fly out of his grip, his right hand going completely numb, and he finally understood why Carl had been knocked to the ground. A "giant" with that kind of speed and strength was simply not someone a normal person could resist!
Stephen rolled on the floor a few times to dodge Miyamoto Shigeru’s attacks. He drew another knife from beside his other leg and tossed it to Carl. "For God’s sake, Carl, pick up the knife and fight with me, or we’re both going to die here! This giant isn’t someone you or I can handle alone!"
Carl had been waiting for this moment for a long time. He snatched the knife out of the air, gritting through the agony in his chest, and rolled a few times toward Miyamoto’s back. "Whatever you say!"
Miyamoto Shigeru gave up chasing Stephen and shifted a bit toward the left wall. The arrogant Miyamoto Shigeru still didn’t take the two of them seriously. "Moles are always moles. Even if you add two moles together, it doesn’t change the fact that they’re still just moles!"
"Fuck!" Carl and Stephen roared in unison. Miyamoto’s words got under their skin easily. They swung their blades and charged at Miyamoto one after the other.
Miyamoto Keiko kept hacking with the long sword in his hands. He quickly formed his own plan: take out the wounded Carl first, then go all-out on Stephen. That became his battle strategy. After that, Miyamoto Keiko kept slipping away from Stephen’s attacks while pouring everything he had into slashing at Carl with his long blade. Carl also realized what Miyamoto Keiko was trying to do and decided to focus their attacks on disrupting this guerrilla-style harassment.
The situation between the two sides started to deadlock.
After another fierce exchange, the three of them once again broke apart. Stephen and Carl had been barely holding Miyamoto Keiko in check. After such a long and intense fight, they were starting to run out of breath. Stephen wiped the sweat from his forehead and looked at Miyamoto Keiko, who didn’t seem winded at all. His eyes almost popped out. "Fuck, what kind of giant is this—this speed, this power, and even his stamina is this freakish!"
Sweat had started to bead on Carl’s forehead too. Even Stephen was feeling his stamina fail. What was worse, he was injured and still being hounded by Miyamoto Keiko. Carl even felt his right hand, the one holding the knife, beginning to tremble.
Miyamoto looked at the two of them coldly. "Hurry it up. Everyone’s on a schedule here; don’t waste your precious time."
"Fuck!" Carl and Stephen roared again, mustering the last of their strength and rushing Miyamoto.
Miyamoto Gangming easily dodged the attacks of the two already-exhausted men and continued to toy with them.
Both sides grew more conservative in their moves. Carl and Stephen felt like they were flailing in a swamp, unable to bring their strength to bear. Just when they were starting to think they might be a bit too weak, what awaited them was Miyamoto Gangming’s violent counterattack.
That moment came quickly. Carl’s swing—maybe because his chest pain was getting worse, or maybe because he just didn’t have the strength anymore—went completely off. It was like he was hacking at the air around Miyamoto Keiko instead of his actual target.
Of course, Miyamoto Keiko wasn’t going to let that opportunity slip. Miyamoto Shigeru took a big step toward the wall and planted his right foot against it. Gripping the long knife tightly, he kicked himself off diagonally upward. Using the wall as leverage, he poured his full strength into cleaving at Stephen.
"Ha!" Miyamoto Shigeru snarled as the long blade in his hands smashed down onto Stephen’s knife.
Stephen could no longer withstand Miyamoto Shigeru’s all-out assault. Using his speed, Miyamoto Shigeru launched another attack at Stephen in an incredibly short span of time.
Stephen couldn’t find anything to block Miyamoto Shigeru’s hand with. He clenched his teeth and thrust both hands out to grab Miyamoto Shigeru’s arm.
Miyamoto Keiko had clearly burned through a lot of stamina in this drawn-out battle too. The blade didn’t slice straight through Stephen’s hands. Instead, the long knife lodged into the bones of Stephen’s palms, making him cry out in agony.
The moment Miyamoto Keiko locked Stephen down, Carl’s eyes lit up. Seizing this once-in-a-lifetime chance, he gripped his knife and drove it hard toward Miyamoto Keiko.
Miyamoto Shigeru had clearly anticipated something like this. He released his left hand and used the long blade to pin Stephen’s right hand. With his left hand, he drew a dagger from his waist and slashed back toward Carl. Miyamoto Gangming didn’t even bother to look back at Carl. The dagger drove straight into Carl’s chest. Carl stared down in disbelief at the dagger buried in his chest, then collapsed to his knees and blacked out.
Seeing this, Stephen couldn’t help the despair that spread across his face. He and Carl hadn’t even been a match for Miyamoto Keiko in his prime, never mind how he was now. Stephen suddenly felt a stab of regret. Why had he taken this mission? Why had he come to the mysterious Xia Country? Stephen looked at Miyamoto in fear. "Can I at least know your name? I think your strength is enough to put you in the top 200 experts in the world!"
Miyamoto Gangming’s cold gaze held no trace of mercy. "Go to hell. Just die."
Miyamoto Shigeru kicked Stephen in the chest, yanked the long knife out of his palms, and drove it into his chest. Stephen only let out a muffled grunt before collapsing to the ground, dead.
Having slaughtered two experts, Miyamoto Keiko stood tall in the same spot. Qin Yan, who had watched the whole battle from outside the door, stared fixedly at Miyamoto. Just then, a gust of wind blew through. Miyamoto’s hair swayed wildly in the breeze, sending a chill over his entire body. Qin Yanran’s heart was filled with shock. At this moment, Miyamoto Keiko had probably already killed his way through; let him come!
Qin Yanran couldn’t help feeling deeply grateful that Miyamoto Keiko didn’t know Qian Xiu was still alive. Miyamoto Keiko was this strong now—maybe even tougher than Qian Xiu had been at his peak—and he was uninjured, whereas Qian Xiu’s current strength was far from what it used to be.
"Hey, are you done yet? I almost fell asleep in there. Once you’re done, I’m leaving. If I stay here any longer, I feel like I’m gonna stink!" At that moment, Jiang Guangrong’s baffled voice came from inside one of the bathroom stalls.
The contrast almost made Qin Yanran laugh. Maybe only Jiang Guangrong would dare talk to Miyamoto Shigeru like that! It also made Qin Yanran even more curious about the relationship between Jiang Guangrong and Miyamoto Keiko.
Sure enough, Miyamoto Gangming didn’t even bother to give Jiang Guangrong a proper look. "I shouldn’t have come to save you."
"Hahaha, fine, let’s get out of here. I’ll treat you to a big meal!" Jiang Guangrong laughed.
"At least you’ve got a conscience!" Miyamoto Shigeru said, not really caring.
The group went to a nearby supermarket to grab some food and topped off the car’s gas. Soon after, they continued on their way toward Xiang Province.
