Chapter 1231: Chapter 1231: Treating and Recuperating from Injuries

"Uncle, what’s wrong?" The little girl looked at Mu Qiancheng and asked with a worried face.

"It’s nothing, uncle just got a little hurt," Mu Qiancheng smiled and comforted them, then thought of the things they had asked him to do before and couldn’t help but feel guilty, saying, "I’m sorry, I couldn’t rescue your parents, but don’t worry, although I couldn’t do it, there are other uncles over there rescuing people. I’m sure they will get your parents out."

"We understand, thank you, uncle." The two children were sensible and thanked Mu Qiancheng, then left.

After they left, Jiang Xue checked Mu Qiancheng’s injuries, then said to him, "Qiancheng, although this injury didn’t hit the bone, the weather here isn’t suitable for healing, you should really go to the hospital."

"Hospitals are crowded right now, there wouldn’t be any beds available."

"What should we do? Should we go back first? Or go to a hospital in the city?" Jiang Xue suggested.

Despite giving Mu Qiancheng a bandage and some anti-inflammatory pills, it’s still safer to go to the hospital, as this was her first time treating such an external injury, and she had no experience. If treated incorrectly, affecting Mu Qiancheng’s walking in the future, it would be troublesome.

"Let’s see what the situation above dictates."

"Alright, I’ll stay here with you and wait to see what they decide," Jiang Xue sat down next to Mu Qiancheng and didn’t head back to the rescue site. Mu Qiancheng needed her now, she couldn’t leave.

Luckily, they didn’t stay at the temporary shelter for long before a car came to pick them up and take them to the hospital.

Because the county hospital’s conditions were poor and many were injured, the driver sent them directly to Jiang City. Upon arrival in Jiang City, Jiang Xue helped Mu Qiancheng with the hospitalization procedures.

After finalizing the paperwork, the on-call doctor at the hospital came to examine Mu Qiancheng. Upon inspecting his injuries, he prescribed some anti-inflammatory fluids and oral medication, and rewrapped his wounds.

Once that was done, daylight had fully broken. Jiang Xue saw Mu Qiancheng was sleeping, so she went out to buy some breakfast and returned.

Mu Qiancheng woke up just in time to eat. After breakfast, the doctor came for rounds and was relieved to see Mu Qiancheng wasn’t running a fever.

Mu Qiancheng stayed in the hospital for a whole week. During this week, the weather finally cleared, and disaster relief efforts slowly drew to a close.

Team members gradually returned home. Since Mu Qiancheng was hospitalized, he didn’t leave with his teammates. Once his wounds started to heal, he and Jiang Xue finally left.

However, he didn’t return to his school in Beijing immediately but went back to Xu City with Jiang Xue. Upon returning to Xu City, Liu Yongfa learned of Mu Qiancheng’s injury and promptly came to visit him at home.

After Liu Yongfa left, Director Liu from Mu Qiancheng’s unit in Xu City personally came to his home to check on him, making him feel quite embarrassed.

It was just a minor injury, yet it bothered Director Liu, which made Mu Qiancheng feel guilty. Fortunately, Director Liu was busy himself, so he didn’t stay long and left after visiting.

The couple stayed in Xu City for two days, and Mu Siwu and Bai Yuhua heard the news and came over as well. Seeing their son’s injured foot, needing crutches to walk, Bai Yuhua was quite distraught for a while.

Ultimately, with Mu Siwu and Mu Qiancheng comforting her together, she felt better. Afterwards, Bai Yuhua decided not to return to her hometown, saying she wanted to take care of Mu Qiancheng.
